Wonderful, beautiful Filipino classic skillfully played! Like a gentle breeze that caresses the soul. Gives me that wonderful vibe of cavatina when i first heard it on classical guitar.
As performed by Marc Friedlander, it doesn't need a filipino guitar player to play such a beautiful classic tune. Thanks Marc for your rendition of the music, you have played it with your heart and passion.......Bravo.......Marc...
I want to thank everyone for listening and for your comments. I should have thanked you individually, but I'm hoping that a big, collective HUG will do the trick.
First time I heard this melody in a guitar , perfectly done , it reminds me of the times of our grandparents , when the world was still young , I'm on my late 60s and this is really the memories of the past,
Thanks, everyone. I never played a Filipino piece before this - so I'm really glad that the experts say I did it right. I just played it the way I felt it - and hoped for the best. I love the piece - if that comes through, the rest takes care of itself.
Who's listening to this in quaratine 2020? This is beautiful, Marc! Thanks for posting. Your playing is so relaxing. I'm eating a bowl of ginataang bilo bilo while listening to this and it brings back so many memories of the homeland P.I. Again, thanks for sharing your gift. Much love! ~new sub
Mr. Silos was my piano teacher when I was a boy. He used to be the pianist for my father's Christian singing group back in the '70s and '80s. He would play this song during every concert in the piano and it was awsome to witness! I think you play his song very well and Mr. Silos would be very proud! N. de Pano
If Mexico has a beautiful song Maria Elena, Philippines also has a comparable instrumental songs and this song played is one of these songs.beautiful poignantly played.thanks
I recently came across your video and I have played it over and over. This is one of my favorite Filipino classic songs and this interpretation is very soulful, filled with emotion and 'quiet passion' (if there's such a thing). Very good, very sensitive rendition. Thanks for uploading this!
Thank you. Your words are indeed gratifying to hear. The piece (apart from my playing) is heart rending and beautiful. I'm so glad that came across for you, in my humble attempt to do it justice. And thanks to the others for your kindness as well. Marc

Hi Marc! I'm a big fan of this song. You played it really really well! Here's a tip for this song. My former teacher always tells me to play it in slight accelerando in every measure without losing the common time. He said that's the way it was means to be played. Try listening to jose valdez's video. You can try it if you want, it brings a whole new color. Thank you for playing this song! :D Safety and peace. :)

The technique when you pluck the strings individually to produce a strum-like sound rather than plucking them all at the same time :)

what i mean is, try it in rubato, sir :)
According to Perf, it's called a finger - "Roll". I have asked Perf on what this technique is called and he said it's a Roll.
All self study, except for a few years of private lessons. No conservatory.
galing
Where can I find this guitar arrangement please.
wow! galing! who made the arrangement?:D
can you tell me what kind of tuning you used here sir? very good song.. (or send me tabs coz much easier) thanks sir..
This piece was arranged by Maestro Jose Valdez.
Very classical
can i have a tab of this? i want to learn this. : )

Mister do you study classical music trough conservatory? or self study?
hi marc what kind of tuning did you use on this music? thank you
Hi - drop D tuning.
That's standard tuning on all but the 6th (E) string, which is tuned down 1 full step to D.
Huuuuu! Hirap hahaa
This arrangement is belongs to Maestro Jose Valdez
That is absolutely correct. I just checked the (legally purchased) score. Thank you for pointing it out!
I don't really know what "raking" means, but it doesn't sound like a good thing. What are you referring to, specifically?
Nicely done, bravo!
