I try to watch every review you do, they are great and hopefully within six months I can finally purchase my first NAS, most likely a QNAP devise. Cheers from the States :) - wright
In my case i play content on an AppleTV4K, so is my appleTV doing the heavy transcoding? Meaning that in my case doesn't really matter if the NAS has enough processing power or not?
Tbh, short of the whole memory thing on this and the TS-462 (that I cover in the Before You Buy video and reviews respectively, the TS-262 is a newt little box! Whether it's bought for the QNAP side or to flash as a mini unRAID/TrueNAS (I know..I know...DC Celeron), it's good little box and supports a market that is seemingly being massively ignored by the other brands.
@@nascompares I guess something good (or fair haha) came out of the ongoing shortages. And I personally really do appreciate that something affordable comes out in the time where pretty much everything is becoming more & more expensive, almost by the day. A value-range will also lower the (investment) threshold for some if they want to endeavour into the NAS world or stick to the "traditional" USB (etc) storage instead. And lets be honest, not everybody is crazy enough to get the latest-and-greatest as it often implies still not "the perfect NAS". Like, IMHO, the QNAP TVS-x72 series, or, with the right specs, the TVS-128x series. Or the TS-h series if you have money to burn. And I'm sure Synology has some excellent models too. But lets not forget TerraMaster or AsusStore. With the proper choices, plural, you end-up with a NAS you hardly want to replace in the years to come, other then perhaps bigger HD's. If such a value series fits your needs, you should be set to go for a fairly long time without the need to sell your organs or something...
Thks; I stills-gots-hopes on the DS223+ buts it seems-likes Synology is giving the fun/home NAS market-share to QNAP on a silver-platter. Hey, ?Where in the heck is the seagull/Eddie? Wait-a-minute ..... yous-means the seagull is really Eddie in disguise (!Conspiracy !;)

i only have media files like the last one (top gun).
what nas do i need for playing such huge mkv files?
Was this with hardware transcoding enabled or disabled?
Shame it's only dual-core

any answer on that???
If it's directplay the cliënt is doing the transcoding, so your apple tv.
How many devices can watch 4k at same time on nas?
Keep up great content
So would the ts-462 be able to play the last file since you mentioned a 4 bay would be better?
Plex test the 6 bay from asustor
Would this be a good nas for a zappiti or zidoo?
Definitely good one
Thanks!
Not bad for what it gives.
