Miss USA is the total package. I watched all her preliminary performances. I saw the clip where she just talked in front of the camera. She nailed it. She just knows what to say calmly and confidently. And her national costume? It’s out of this world and into the Universe - to the moon and plant the USA flag! Very clever. Thus, she will be the Miss Universe!!!

Watching this again, I realised that Philippines had the most graceful walk and most unique strides. It was more than just the technical precision like Puerto Rico's but She showed so much personality that sets her apart from the rest. It's the natural charm that hits you.
Miss USA will be the next Universe!!! The stage presence, her tone body, her beautiful face, she has the Xfactor lets just be honest, She proves that theres no rigged!!!

Puerto Rico was flawless! She blew me away in swimsuit and evening gown. She just has that Miss Universe glow about her. If she makes it to Top 5 I can see her winning as she is very strong in Q&A. USA was also another favourite of mine. R’bonney really nailed prelims. Miss Montana and the other haters must be choking on her performance lol.

For the swimsuit performance, R’Bonney blew me out of the water, it was just perfection, as well as Dominican Republic, Thailand, Guatemala, Philippines and Colombia for me. I didn’t expect Guatemala to be one of my favorites of the prelims.

As a Filipino, I'm not against to Celeste because I love her but I hope she will made into the top5 and we can just see if she can nailed the question and answer round, and if she can give justice on that. Well, she will make it into the top3 and answering final question is her challenge to win. Still hoping for her but if she did not, I'll pick USA, Venezuela or Curacao.

I agree with you Dani on your selections Jamaica and Costa Rica shone on this, they showed elegance and confidence. They looked straight, made eye contact and swing their hips well(not too exaggerated like Ms Colombia), they have to smile though with the eye contact. I love though how Ms Philippines entered with a smile because that will show confidence and when you are concentrating to perform your twirl you forget to smile which I saw in Ms USA. You can see how she concentrated on performing forgetting to smile.

Personally I found the capes a bit distracting and wish the girls had more energy. I do with the stage had a longer runway like in 2018 so the girls could walk more. Overall, great commentary Dani!

Thanks for the recap Dani. I've kind of fallen out of keeping up with Miss USA and Miss Universe in the past 6 years since I stopped competing but you've gotten me excited to watch again.
Why is everyone sleeping on Australia? Her swim performance was such a standout.

The Miss Universe Organization introduced several specific changes to the format for this edition. Initially, it was speculated that the semifinalists would return to 20, similar to the number of semifinalists in 2018. However, the number of semifinalists was eventually reduced to 16 - the same number of semifinalists in 2021. The results of the preliminary competition - which consisted of the swimsuit competition, the evening gown competition, and the closed-door interview will determine the 16 semifinalists who will advance for the first cut. The internet voting is still being implemented, with fans being able to vote for another delegate to advance into the semifinals. The top 16 will be competing in both the swimsuit and evening gown competitions and are to be narrowed down to the top 5 afterwards. The top 5 will be competing in the preliminary question and answer round, and the final 3 will be chosen. The final word portion will be brought back, after which Miss Universe 2022 and her two runners-up will be announced.
I hate that. Top 16 to Top 5 is a format I never loved. Maybe it is to cut down on broadcast time, but still it’s Miss Universe. Once a year, I’m fine to stay for longer.

I am contented with Celeste's performance. She's simply elegant and carried herself throughout. You just expected her to be as forceful as the others. I know she's still really up to something more as how Demi played her cards in 2017. God bless to us.

Thank GOD USA listened to you - she has had such a tough few months I was WORRIED about her but people like YOU Dani gave her the stregth she obviously needed and this PAIN She has gone thru GAVE HER a SHOT at The UNIVERSE CROWN!! - I also just LOVED curacao so friggin FRESH!! For me - these 3 i want to move to Thailand overall I cannot change my mind its THESE THREE!! (puerto rico and vietnam round out the 5)
