I've been surprised by just how often the SD/A gets outted once I make it in later turns. Some of the losses are the SD/A comes out on turn 2 or 3 and opponent has enough card advantage/interaction to force the negate and press for damage. I will say to the deck's benefit that against set monsters and trap heavy decks SD/A has felt amazingly strong. I'm working on make the deck more real then the replays will come 🙏
Stardust Assault was always one of my favorite cards to build around. Love to see you put a lot of effort in to create such a fun deck! I'm subbing for sure.
I love that AFD skipping your battle phase doesnt matter in this deck cuz its turn 1 anyways, beautiful. When ranking AFD on a synchro tierlist one would have to take into account how useful AFD is in a regular deck and in something like this deck
Super sick decklist. Have you considered a necrovalley based list instead of the dinosaur one? Commandment fills a similar role as the Dino’s -> plus necrovalley turns dd crow outs to assault mode off. You can even add black garden then, as commandment has 1600 atk and can be revived by garden, which could allow for other potential plays
Further black garden could be used with Armageddon knight to cheat summoner monk out from deck - don’t know if that line is consistent enough to be worth it though
I have! I think it could be good. It can be any field spell you like! Fairies with herald of orange light as a lvl 2 tuner has potential, heroes with Miracle to make ab0 as a boss and gaia as another lvl 6 nontuner, necrovalley for built in crow protection and potentially turn 1 royal tribute. They all have merits. I like dino solely because only hero and dino get to search for their field spell searcher and the other card I'd search with fossil dig is gilasaurus which enables diva/plague as starters with AFD or stardust with gillman/instant fusion. Fossil Dig playing double duty for the non-field spell plays is why dinosaurs are the best choice for speed. Other approaches are great but I believe they will be slower, if that's correct only testing will tell!

The issue with field spells that aren't searchable by other means is you are adding a lot of clumping of cards you don't necessarily want to see together. All terraformings go to geartown (in this version). I do think a summoner monk with a flamvel magician could be very good, I'd also very much like to add sangan because arcane apprentice really is the sauce of the deck, so perhaps monk+magician could be worth it!
I have tried this! It’s particularly good as a 2nd arcane apprentice for the AFD play and later can be used as a 1 card brio/goyo which is quite nice. Issue here is once you have an arcane apprentice you are already doing everything you are setting out to do. Powerful card for this strat, but I’d run 1 or 0 for this approach
@@myaostaprojectI do not, I did not do an all in spellcaster version. I ran 1 magical examplar over the imperial iron wall and my spellcaster targets were the 3 lvl 2 tuners and musician king. You'd never terraforming for endymion so I did not test that since the only time I'd ever use it is if it were naturally drawn or searched with ancient fairy dragon. In both of those cases I've already used all my spells in hand so you'd have to take a different approach. Hope this helps!

defensively it's better against banish, so caius and dprison SDA is better against. Also 3k attack is a big difference as well because the easiest way to deal with a stardust usually is just to attack over it. The big benefit is the interaction on cards you normally can't or using it to protect your plays. when it comes to the card itself being good I think the real value is on how trap heavy the decks you play against are. You rack up plusses by picking through their cards on their turn easily but most importantly on your turn.
It can miss timing. If you choose to blow up gear town and search for a field spell, it will miss timing. But if you destroy and don't search for a field spell you'll get the gear town trigger
yeah it's something like a 75% chance for first turn SDA if I remember correctly. This video is basically my rolling a d4 9 times without rolling a 1. I have updates to the list that make it less of a combo and more playable but threading the needle of combo to non-combo is difficult. Also, there are many hands that seemingly aren't first turn SDA but actually are. I'm sure you don't remember your hands but it is possible one of both of them had a convoluted way to get there
I keep trying hands and over and over not drawing an assault mode card - what does the deck do in that situation? Wait, or try to go for AFD + Stardust?
From my experience it's wait until you can't any more or just send it AFD + Stardust (normal) and pray it sticks. If you want to play around with 3 magical mallet and up the assault mode activate/assault beasts up to 3 you'll see more assault cards but unfortunately I've noticed it weakens the deck overall to do that. Another thing to note is that the dinosaurs are all bad but necessary for bridging the plays together mostly because of how much they do with comparatively less deck real estate than the other field spell engines. Anything you can do to squeeze value out of the dinosaurs is the only way this list functions. I definitely still consider this deck a work in progress
i mastered assault mode been building assaullt mode decks for 13 years i figured out the arcane geartown combo early 2022. the deck looks alright but the problem everyone is having when building this deck is that everone is just turboing it out. the deck can be played like any other tier 1 deckk it just has to be done right

idk if im just unlucky but i just did 10 test hands on db and got tuner access 3 times with access to stardust asslt 2 times

the complexity was exploding on the newer variants and I got a new job so I let all the brain taxing go to workdays instead of tournament days haha
