Very welcome! Thanks for watching :)
I used to mix a lot with headphones in the past. About 4 years ago I started getting a constant ring in my left ear and a while after I had an ear test done and they told me I had tinnitus. The ring never stops but I have learned to focus on other things to alleviate it sometimes. I'm thinking about getting the Slate Digital Rooms which are getting raved reviews you should look into it. The free version of Sienna is a good starting point and a great reference to different mixes. Food for thought, I have listened to 3 songs from Juul. "Doin' You Right" is my favorite mix and somehow the other mixes didn't hold up to that mix. I also really like your singing voice. Keep on keeping on :)
Thank you so much. You are really kind and I am thrilled that you checked my music. The thing is that I used to only mix my own music and for that reason I think my mixes always fell short.. now that I have started mixing other projects I see things completely differently and I have another awareness of the process than I did and I think that hopefully my own mixes as an artist will start getting so much better as well. ☺️ I will definitely check slate digital rooms. I love sienna like you said but there are probably other good alternatives out there :)
Hi Joanna, my name is George. I am one who doesn't comment often but I have to say that you are very talented and have a good ear for music. I just tried out the free version of Sienna Rooms a few days ago. I was strolling searching on UA-cam for Sienna rooms and I found this presentation. I use Studio One 5 and I love it. I got into Studio One starting 2012 and never looked back. Keep up the great work and never give up :)
Hi George, thank you so much for commenting. It means a lot to me. Studio one is dope isn’t it? I am a bit torn at the moment between studio one and reaper but definitely studio one in my opinion can compete with Pro tools and cubase, no doubt. So do you enjoy using Sienna? For a free version not bad at all right? I think is a must when mixing with headphones don’t you think?
Great video Joanna, am an Afrobeat producer and mixing engineer from Lagos, Nigeria. you got my subscription. Keep up the good work
Amazing! Thank you very much. Hope I am helping you in a way!
Thanks Joanne. You've made my understanding of this much better - very clear and excellent presentation!
You are very welcome! Glad I helped
Very informative, thanks!
No worries. Glad I helped!
Thanks Joanna. I had my doubts about Sienna, at least the free version I tried. It hasn't convinced me. However, listening to your demo of the different listening systems and environments got me reconsidering. I will try using some free trials of various volumes. Thanks again.
I understand. Sienna is a good plug-in if we know what we are using it for. If it is not for you then, not a problem at all :) everyone’s workflow is different 😊
Hi Joanna! thanks for the audio content. Greetings from Brazil
Obrigada eu por assistir! Ainda bem que pude ajudar!
I'm trully impressed by Sienna. Let's see how the free version works for me. Thanks and greetings from Brazil! 🙌🏼
Hope you enjoy it! Acustica Audio is absolutely amazing and has got some amazing free stuff
Obrigado pelo vídeo! Muito bom mesmo 👍
De nada! Ainda bem que ajudei! 👍
Good luck, best wishes from London UK 🙂
Thank you very much!
E eu vendo os parametros do Studio One em português e me deu uma bugada, "ela é BR?" rsrsrs. Ótimo Video Joanna!
😃 Ola!! Portugal aqui, mas sim, a mesma língua :) espero ter ajudado! Abraço
Hi again :) I find when I sometimes mix other peoples projects is that the mixes are far better when I try to mix my own songs. I have too high of expectations and when I'm mixing someone else I somehow feel less intense about the process. I live in Toronto, Ontario Canada and the music scene here is really slow especially after the pandemic. I hope all is well with U my friend :)
hi. thank you for commenting the video. I understand what you mean. my advice to you would be take only projects you really want to work with if that is possible, so that you start already engaged with the song and already with a vision of where you want to take the song! thanks for watching and commenting the video!
👏❤
Thanks 😇
Ive had Sienna for years and never used it cause it has so many knobs (on the black version)and theres not enough tutorials on using it. But I am planning on using it with Waves NX since I sold my monitors.
That is a great idea! Let us know here on the channel how it goes!
Been trying this one lately. I am still not sure if it's helping but I have made so many changes in my current project because of it. So I really want to make a mix with Sienna and without it and see the true difference.
Yeah! Let me know here. Remember that what is important is consistency! Don’t be changing from one studio to another inside sienna from mix to mix! If you chose a preset you like use it consistently in your mixes as you will start know how things are supposed to sound!! :) if it does not work for you by all means do not use it! 😊
is it the t-bone sct 700 ? the mic ?
No. This mic is a studio projects B1!
ok i See it looks similiar to the sct 700 from t-bone without looking the tail, thanks wish you a happy sunday@@inputstudio2478
I thought you were a stock image in the thumbnail ngl
Ahaha, no, that is really me! :)
12:37 it's a fail. Your sound\mix is in mono. Nothing changes really... quite possibly because you renedered the audio bus but forget to render the Listen bus and then chop the section with the Sienna sound.
Anyway… it is a rookie mistake.
I use EqualizerAPO + ASH-Dataset (BRIRs off of monitors in german broadcast studios and NEUMANN KU 100 headset mic) with the Voicemeeter mixer. All free... Voicemeeter is a donationware (like $10 or £8).
Thank you for your comment.
@@inputstudio2478 You are most welcome. Everybody can make that mistake. Later in the video with the EQ tweaks\presets the audio gets affected, but not sure why it did and why it did not with Sienna rooms.
