Rich Swann is very underrated. Hope to see back on top as Impact World Champion again one day. Been rewatching his world title reign back in 2020/2021 and it's a really fun time despite this being the lockdown period with no audience. It does make matches like this stand out a bit more.
Will never tire of this 👏 It was such an exciting time for IMPACT and AEW. Of all Top AEW guys that could have been champion for to hold the IMPACT and AEW title it was so fitting it was Omega as he was on the brink of signing with IMPACT before the AEW inception and he still managed to light up both companies 👌 TK was and still is incredibly short sighted about cross Promoting with IMPACT though. It was special seeing 2 top US promotions work together like both do with NJPW, AAA etc. He didn't help make great pitches from both Rosters bappen. Even if he doesn't want his main Federation cross Promoting with IMPACT too much it would make all the sense in the world to get IMPACT and Khan's ROH working together again. Both companies have a long history together but a TK backed ROH Cross Promoting witn IMPACT, so much potential
You mean AEW buried them even further to the ground FYI lowest viewership in impact history. Also Kenny didn’t even lose the title to an Impact wrestler at that time but to an AEW wrestler…so this turned out to be a failure.
Mauro talked about how Rich Swann had fought his way back from multiple injuries to become Impact World Champion. What made this run even more impressive than it already was for Kenny Omega is that he was suffering through multiple injuries of his own at the time. He was the Belt Collector while battling with 2 bad knees, a bad shoulder & a bad back & he was still the best pro wrestler in the world that was NOT in WWE. Kenny did this because he wanted to make it official & he did just that.
This was the first PPV I purchased and watched on FITE and consequently fully revived my interest in pro wrestling. It felt surreal when Callis made an appearance on Dynamite and then had the episode end with him saying, "See you on Thursday Night." which then lead to this set of storyline. Still, a BIG shame that we got teased with Omega meeting Josh backstage but it never lead to a match between the two.
Nothing to say the Omega/Alexander match can’t happen down the line! That’s what I love about wrestling, there’s very few limits to the kind of inter promotional, inter generational clashes that can happen, provided companies are willing to work together. This match is proof positive of that energy, banger of a contest
One of the most famous matches in Impact Wrestling history is Rich Swann for the TNA IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion vs Kenny Omega for the AEW World Champion at Rebellion
Was neat to see Impact give AEW a rub with this angle. I had never seen Kenny Omega wrestle before this and he did impress me with his Impact World Championship run.
That TNA Heavyweight Title is one of the top 10 (extreme possibility of being top 5) belt designs in the entire history of the wrestling industry. Absolutely beautiful championship belt, for sure. When a wrestling promotions titles appear to be of high value and aesthetically pleasing, it gives the fans the impression that said promotion also value their titles, and it actually matters who holds those titles. A company's champions are their standard bearers as well as it's foundation. It absolutely, positively, unequivocally does matter how their fans feel about the way the belts the champions wear to the ring look to the audience.
Mauro is the best in a long time. Jim Ross levels of respect for this guy. He uses the proper most mainstream name for the moves, not whatever Excalibur is smoking
Watching Tony Kahn's reactions was interesting. He looked like a kid on Christmas morning; and it's a bit strange to see an owner or official actually being a fan of the product instead of just a money making endeavor.
I loved when this was happening. Felt like it was AEW, Impact, ROH, and New Japan all were on the same boat with crossing over into different brands. I don't believe it's happening anymore or as much but would be nice to see it again. Shoot even WWE did it during this time with James coming into the womans rumble
@@johnselwitz5362 WWE has absolutely nothing to gain from crossing over with these companies, they are far n ahead of all these companies in terms of their global following, it would just give these other small companies more exposure which would be dumb thing for WWE to do. It's like saying why doesn't UFC do a crossover promotion with their competitors like Bellator & ONE etc. Because it wouldn't make sense for the clear industry leader to align with the smaller competitors.
Impact treated Omega so strangely (kayfabe) acting like it was such a tragedy for a non impact talent to hold the belt, but meanwhile Kenny was defending it regularly and couldn't walk away with it, thanks to Scott and Tony saying on screen that no matter who won they would be obligated to defend the belt. I really don't get the onscreen disgust for Omega especially when he was winning without cheating.
I hope Mauro finds himself in AEW one day! He AEW like hand and glove! With Tazz and Tony , Excalibur, JR. Any Combination with Mauro would be awesome!
Swann has a very fun moveset, but you see the level difference between him and Kenny and why the latter is among the best wrestlers of this or any generation. Everything he does looks brutal and makes sense in building a story in the ring.
Since WWE won't do it the other big companies should get together and do a massive forbidden door. Impact, AEW, new Japan, AAA and maybe even NWA if they can step it up a bit
Hearing Mauro on commentary always feels right he really is this generations Jim Ross
Wwe should bring him back and put him on raw
@@truuflight1142 Triple H would want him back but something tells me Vince would find a way to make sure Mauro doesn't come back
Calling him this generations Jim Ross is just awful cause jim Ross never had the same energy that Mauro has like don’t ever say that again
@@truuflight1142 I agree, Kevin Patrick has done a terrible job as a play-by-play announcer
Mauro it's way better
It was great hearing Mauro on commentary for this, would love to see him back.

He too busy yelling at his wife. 😂🤣
😮
I really miss the working relationship AEW and TNA had. Hope to see it happen again in the future.
lreally miss the working relationship AEW and
It's never going to happen AEW almost completely buried TNA, the partnership was super one sided
I hope one day IMPACT and AEW can work together again, imagine a FD event with AEW/IMPACT/NJPW!

Yes sir

hopefully someday that match happens.
things fall through unfornately just like the aldis match, I think this story was supposed to be a lot bigger it's still fantastic though

No
Hey man can i bother u to ask how much u pay for fite monthly to see the ppvs
This was an excellent match and deserves the praise it gets!
One of the most famous matches in Impact Wrestling history is Rich Swann for the TNA IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion vs Kenny Omega for the AEW World Champion at Rebellion
Facts
I really wish we could of seen Kenny Omega with an actual crowd in Impact
THANK YOU ONE OF MY FAVORITES, THIS MAN SOLD THE PPV JUST FROM HIS MATCH
Was neat to see Impact give AEW a rub with this angle. I had never seen Kenny Omega wrestle before this and he did impress me with his Impact World Championship run.
you came in at a great time are you a massive fan now?
Interesting that you think Impact could give another company a rub.
AEW is way bigger than Impact and Kenny is way bigger than Swan
It's MAURO!!! A fantastic match! (And) the best matches have the best commentators, so glad to hear his voice on the mic' again.
It was an interesting time when all the wrestling shows put the audience behind the camera
I love these crossovers

Title vs Title always give me goosebumps when it is about separate companies.
History took place before our eyes.
Match of the ages. Didn't even notice the lack of crowd after a few mins
Mauro is the best in a long time. Jim Ross levels of respect for this guy. He uses the proper most mainstream name for the moves, not whatever Excalibur is smoking

I remember when Kenny first showed up on Impact. The beginning of Belt Collector Kenny Omega
I loved when this was happening. Felt like it was AEW, Impact, ROH, and New Japan all were on the same boat with crossing over into different brands. I don't believe it's happening anymore or as much but would be nice to see it again.
Shoot even WWE did it during this time with James coming into the womans rumble
I’d love to see more crossovers with WWE being involved as well. When things like that happen, ultimately it’s the fans who are the winners.

That old TNA title looks way better than the Impact title
that was one of the best matches I have ever seen
Kenny is amazing
Great match. Even with me knowing who the winner was, I watched it with belief any man could have won the match
I Wanna See More AEW Wrestlers In Impact
2021 Was An Epic Year Indeed
One of my favorite matches
That tna world championship was 🔥🔥🔥
Kenny Omega’s version of The Belt Collector was my favorite. I remember watching both AEW and Impact Wrestling just to see what will happen.
Why AEW and Impact stopped working together?
Creative differences, I assume.
Sooner or later they’ll be working together again
It was never meant to be long term.
We need IMPACT x AEW PPV!!
Ihv never seen such an amazing match against Canny Omega 😢
This match man me a big fan of Kenny Omega
Only one word. ...awesome
This is 5 star territory. Brilliant match. With a crowd it would be a big fight feel.
I can see Kenny Omega dethroning MJF of the AEW title soon
I really hope so
It won't be soon
Wrong prediction
29:55 Dangerous omega 😮☣️
Roman vs Kenny is a Dream Match
🤮
Wait…….. TNA used to work with AEW?!

It was nice fught till Rich Swan start getting head hits one after another . They should ban head and neck damage
Brian hebner is really looking like his dad fr
Best Interpromotional i have ever seen
Belt collector Kenny was something else
For a while I wondered why there was no audience, but then I saw this was a match that happened in 2021.
INSANE MATCH!
This night no one can forget what about just happened

Congratulations to you kenny omega I love that match keep it up ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
AEW was at its peek with Kenny Omega as the Belt Collector Champion!
Great match and storytelling outside the ring.
Kenny Omega would always be the best wrestler Ever
I hope Mauro finds himself in AEW one day! He AEW like hand and glove! With Tazz and Tony , Excalibur, JR. Any Combination with Mauro would be awesome!
Roman Reigns vs Kenny Omega dream match🤘🏻

Kenny Omega is seriously the greatest I have ever seen
We need to have Mauro Ranallo and Jim Ross do commentary together
one of the best matches
Lol even with covid 19 impact maintains the same level of crowds pre and post pandemic
Swan is amazing and durable
Me gusta como lucha Keny homega es un buen luchador
Aew and Impact should have a joint ppv
Too bad we didn't get Kenny Omega vs Eddie Edwards :(
ikr that's why i'm pretty sure the reign was supposed to be a lot longer but omega needed surgery
Since 205 live, love Rich Swann!
BELT COLLECTOR 🥶🔥💯
This cross promotion should be a yearly thing along with MLW
That would be interesting
Since WWE won't do it the other big companies should get together and do a massive forbidden door. Impact, AEW, new Japan, AAA and maybe even NWA if they can step it up a bit
blud using canon rock as his entrance theme ☠️
Omega es grandioso😎
Great match on pandemia
Kenny Omega single-handedly made TNA/IMPACT/Global Force or whatever it was that month semi-cool again and tolerable to watch. For a moment.
This is What Rich Swann Tell The Story About Lost To Kenny Omega
For Free???
What a match
Hope this was all in front of crowd
Run it back
Cuando fue esta pelea es reciente
2021
Theme song??
Bring back mauro ranallo
Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley are a blight on professional wrestling.
They should bring Mauro back on impact wrestling
Aew should hire mauro on dynamite PLEASE
5 star match!!!
Why is Swann holding the former TNA belt?
Swann and Alex Shelly vs aew talent. Begin the acquisition.Apollo crews too
Sorry but that's a Finisher Killer Match
Double champion vs Double champion (even though Kenny did not defend the AAA Mega title in this match)
Impacts best moment was when Kenny beat the s%it outta Swan
ami me gusta como lucha Keny homega
