The Strings we use on our Modern Day Double Bass (this is also true for the Violin, Viola, & Cello) are Flatwound Strings, that is Flat Ribbons of various Metals wound around a Steel/Nylon Core to give the String its final gauge.

We all need more SubContra notes! I have to use Subharmonics to get there singing. Able to do a G0 in the morning. Chest voice is good to go down to D#1 or D1. Sub-Bass instruments are the best!
