- An overview of the steps taken to re-commission the two reverse cycle marine air conditioning heat pump units on the boat. As mentioned, our 370 Sundancer is equipped with a 12,000 BTU main unit which services the forward stateroom + cabin + head. There's another 7,000 BTU unit for the aft cabin area.

Wow always great videos, please explain how you get your engine room that clean. The age of your vessels usually have years of poor detailing but yours look brand new great job
Since we bought this boat last year (ua-cam.com/video/3gw4ODGjZjg/v-deo.html), I've been doing more and more cleaning to bring her back around. I have a couple more days in the engine room to finish off my close in detailing. I'll be sharing a video with my procedure, as well as before and after shots to compare. Having a super clean vessel is very important and I'm proud of the efforts to keep her that way.
I always leave the sea cocks open for the winter so no trapped water but close all but the engines before launch. I open each as I test the system. Great walk through. Very close to my procedure. Happy boating PS got to the boat on the weekend, all looks good, just waiting to figure out launching but fingers crossed we are floating in a couple weeks.

Have to agree with you on that. So much so that I've already removed the pinstripes on the port side of the deck and will do the other side once we're in our permanent summer slip.

In the spring, I have to prime the pump with a run of the boat up to speed. 99 380.
Yes, we had a similar situation on our 400 Sedan Bridge, but overcame that when I installed the water filtration system. Same in our 330 Dancer.
Happily, at least so far, the pump on the current 370 is quite cooperative 😉
Will your heat run off your geny??mine will only work of ac power but ac runs cold on geny
I've never tried the heat cycle when running on the generator, but the air conditioning works perfectly on the generator. Perhaps check the voltage output from your genny to make sure it's producing the correct power supply, as the reverse cycle air conditioning units are sensitive to improper voltage...
Its amazing in 2023 how many boaters still will walk by my boat and ask why my bilge pumps are running 🤣🤣.

It's always a chuckle when we hear folks walking past our boat when stopped at a lock (Fenelon, particularly) commenting to their friends 'that boat has a bad leak, as you can see all the water coming out of it'. And I thought all the boat experts where on the Interwebs 🤣
Single pump plumbed to two units is common. First part of the video showed both units running. You can also make those thermostats read Celsius.
Yes, one pump to service both A/C units. If one is running (or both), then the pump is circulating water through both units, hence the water exiting the boat at two locations.

I felt like our AC wasn't cooling properly last summer so I picked up a small digital room thermometer and found out that the AC unit was showing 5 degrees cooler than the actual cabin temp. Did some digging in the manual and found out this temperature can be manually set as a baseline.
Good insight, thank you. That said, every heating and cooling system is controlled by the temperature at the thermostat, not necessarily the ambient room temp. One may need to adjust the setting to reflect not what the number on the thermostat says, but what the comfort level is for the occupants. And don't forget that since our boats have zero, stand alone insulation, the thermostat can be subject to outside temps (cold on the adjoining wall, or got summer sun beating into the cabin), so that's gonna play into the whole comfort equation.

Nice review II do the same but with one extra step. Once on my 2009 Searay in the summer my AC running cold mode displayed an error code. I looked it up and as I recall it was a air pressure code. I checked it out and found it had an air filter on the Cruise air unit. I pulled it out and cleaned it with water and let it dry. Worked perfect again. I did not know it had a filter. It's plastic mesh just like my home dehumidifier so very easy to maintain and clean. Now I check it periodically. Take care.
Yes, as with any sort of unit that pulls air through it (furnace, dryer, central vac system), filters must be cleaned or replaced regularly. If not, the reduced flow of air will put a strain on the motor or cause it to overheat.

@@BoatingWithBoogaboo we have another “heat dome” starting this weekend. Low 30s starting tomorrow. Finally for us. One week of hot stuff then cooled down for one.
