Lord i'm glad I randomly selected to see this messenger at this hour when so much uncertainty and anxiety is in my heart at this hour. The conclusion about writing mother from his dorm room brought an emotion out of me that lives with me everyday and keeps me motivated [feeling of being without; same helplessness I felt as a broke college student]....I can't do anything but weep because of the grace of God...Patience is a learned behavior developed through mistakes, trial's and tribulation!!!
A unique gift from God is ability to whoop. Some dismiss it as little more that pulpit showmanship. But if you listen close, there is much godly substance to help someone in need. Preach on preacher, it reaches to who are willing to receive...

I understand the art of black preaching very well, and yes it is an art form. What you are watching here is the ‘whoop’ or climax if you will of the sermon. First he teaches and then he preaches. He has already given his scripture and sermon points. You can’t go by this little snippet. Understand what preaching is; it is proclaiming the gospel that has already gone forth! If you want to learn, read the bible and study God’s word and ask Him for wisdom and understanding. DO YOUR PART.
Fortunately I recovered from this 'showmanship' years ago. It's unfortunate that even with so much 'whooping', the Black family can still be found mixed with the lent in the cracks of the church pew. SAD

Hooping is cultural in the black community, but to often the emotional impact overshadows the true word of .I am not opposed to whooping but what is more import is the Bible scripture not emotional displays. Many people don't believe that a preacher has not preached until he has whooped, but did Jesus whoop? Jesus penetrated men's soul with the word of truth not with voice infictions. When Pastor Houston makes that 2 hour drive to Toledo and stops at Eastern Star Baptist Church,where my Pastor Dr. John W. Williams is the pastor, he always tears it up. Never has he come and it wasn't a dry eye in the church.

You should tell your readers to first find out who wrote the book and when it was written. Then your readers will know it was "William Tyndale" who said:
"knock and it shall be opened unto you"
"seek and you shall find"
"ask and it shall be given you"
"lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil"

To many preachers practice spending more time on trying to sound good with a jazzy hooping sound in the ears of people. They also try to act cute and arrogant before the people in and out of the pulpit, as though they are God Himself. This is what bore people to sleep; they guide the people with a lot of hooping taking them away from the teachings of Christ which implies CONVICTION. A prime example The people here in this clip seems more pleased with sound, than God's Word, following the gravy train. Leaving the meat on the rostrum called the BIBLE. The Word is always great regardless of it's host, but we can all agree God called us to preach not chant, pimp, lovely, sexual RB sounds to the people, I believe the devil have a hand in most tunes reaching the flesh sentimentally and sexually and not the heart to God. Rev. didn't sound like he was just preaching (sound), it sound like he's in a bed room trying to entice or sweet talk a woman into making love. If we strip him from the sound effects Jasper Williams placed on the script, I believe we can truly hear the WORD of GOD through this man, the WORD of GOD is all we need to convict people to convince them that Jesus is the Christ and that HE will and can keep them from unholy things.... IF, only IF they SUBMIT to THE LORD HIMSELF and not sound. Sound effect only deals with emotion and not a means of Salvation, we are saved by GRACE through FAITH not by works (SOUND EFFECTS). Some people are in the wrong field, they are confusing the recording studio with the pulpit. The kind of Pastor we the Church members are looking for is a GOD CALLED PASTOR one whose a preacher/teacher=Pastor not a RB/Jazz recording artist sound affect from the Pulpit to only impress the audience. Let's not get it twisted Keep preaching but focus more on straight talk oh I forgot it's a religious trend, my fore parents done it, so I'll keep the tradition of men (pimping sound effect; sounding like a liquor drinker/smoker with snot and flem in the throat ) and neglect the way of God (Preaching the Gospel truth with straight facts, using my time wisely for the Lord is much closer than we think). They got this new trend asking a question in a soft sexy way, like Harvey with the Canton spirituals "IS THERE ANYBODY HERE?! , because they spiritually lose the audience. Emotions, emotions, emotions........ yawning........ (cricket sound). He said ABT isn't that the college whose Pres. invited a Lesbian Pastor to come and Preach at Chapel? wow sounds like somebody need to be taught God's Word themselves, The Word tells us to not fellowship with "them"...... But for someone to open a door to it says a lot about the closed closet door. The Lord wants us to "love sinners not lay with them". LOVE the SINNER to win them over, BUT hate the sin they commit, do not participate in it with them.... scholar.
