    Little known fact: the modern use of C3 (Control, Command, and Communication) is *not* the same abbreviation the DC came up with... Theirs is *Continuously Confusing Contrivance* system.

    C3 BV cost absolutely sucks. Almost to the point of not taking due to the prevalence of ECM. Came across a rule in either battle force or something that isn't main line battletech that translates it to a -1 to hit instead of triangulated complicated computer mess. Also BV was less of a burden. Interesting

    Awesome, I love watching your videos for clarification. Sometimes having a second set of eyes helps with comprehension. Quick question, where do I find cbill prices for replacement parts and the like? I have almost every pdf, and I'm having a hard time finding it.

      If you have a copy of Techmanual you should be able to find out this information. It is an excellent book.

    So can a red slave take targeting information from a blue slave or only from a red slave or red master?
    Does a friendly player ECM disrupt your network or only an enemy network?

    • @AlphaStrikeWePlay
      @AlphaStrikeWePlay  2 місяці тому

      Great questions. Allied forces systems all share information. So if red master can talk to blue master then all red and blue can share. ECM acts as ECCM for enemy units only.

    Hello guys!
    Thanks for your great work! You make learning into BT easier, and way more fun. Appretiation!
    Question: when I have C3 network. Dies it cost BV to activate it? On one game we got the problem, that when you have the elements of a C3 network (master and 3 slaves), and you activate it, BV of the said units go up a bit (5-10% as I recall). I can not find the rule for it (ar least it's not mentioned).

    • @AlphaStrikeWePlay
      @AlphaStrikeWePlay  Рік тому +1

      Great comment mate. Yes, if you start a scenario where any units in the C3 network are active and designated connected you pay the extra BV. I suppose it is a bit like Bluetooth pairing. 😆

      @@AlphaStrikeWePlaythis was immensely frustrating to discover after building my first lance with a master slave setup with all 4 mechs using a 3 gun and 5 pilot rating. One of the more knowledgable people had to tell me that I gotta pay an additional 20% of my total army’s cost for 4 mechs which ate up that 3 gunnary skill I paid for. But before we started a 5 hour game with all 4 of my mechs at 4 gunnary I asked to see the ruling… it isn’t in the small rule book that comes with the starter kit, it isn’t in the battletech manual that’s a step below the total warfare book, and it isn’t in the total warfare book… it’s only talked about in the 4th biggest blackest book.

    There was a question that came up recently in a game hosted by a few people i play with in regards to C3 you may be able to help me with this cause we couldn’t find clarification on it.
    If a C3 master unit is on the other side of a hill and has no line of sight to a C3 slave unit equipped Mech that is closer to an enemy but with no ECM blocking it but they both can see tge enemy target in the distance but not each other, can the Master unit still get the range bonus from the slave unit?
    And about if it was the same situation and C3I equipped mechs? Would that change anything?
    Is line of sight required from both the target to the slave AND from the slave to the master?
    We know the master has to be able to see the target to shoot at it, and that the weapons have to be within their max range to do so and that the slave unit has to see the target as well for the master to use it but does terrain mess with LOS between the C3 linked units?

      C3 itself doesn't need LOS between the networked Mechs.
