Not necessarily. People should be allowed to keep their customs, culture, and traditions. Uniting as one with the hope of all of the continent benefiting from foreign investments instead of each country standing alone. A united continent should offer easier access from one country to another and benefits of trade between the countries always with an Africa first benefit.
The biggest challenge Africa faces is between the "Arabs" and their racist religion In The north. Look at sudan. They have been pushing further inland since with that religion that have brutally enslaved Africans before Europeans came to the continent.

1 Africa is a threat to our former colonizers. Imagine the cry wth the coming together of 3 nation in AES.

These are all very worthwhile objectives, however, the mistake in approach is indicative of the lack of knowledge with respect to the power of the people and how the system works. The approach is not a "request" from the Africa people to the governments, it is a "demand" by the Africa people for the governments to deliver and implement. If the demand is not honored, the Africa people should organize and simply not participate in the system. Participating in the system as it is currently, is fueling the complacency and inertia of the governments as well as consenting to the present status quo. This is how the power of the people is exercised without protest or violence. Without the participation of the people, the system does not work - there is no system without the people. These are global principles of governance, however, the people of the world have forgotten their power.
That will be more important unit for 54 to unite the rest of others countries will be lead by head of the provices leaders, but reporting to one individual selected. Than western will never go through with their so called ridiculous rules
