Good luck at Badminton! I'm going to be watching it on television when I can. I'll be looking out for you! I've been thing of some names for Millie's foal. Tan/Tanny, Aura/Aurora, Goldie/Marigold, Sunny/Sunshine or Shine/Shimmer. Or for a showname, Magic Ice. Comment these names if you like them too! I would love for the foal to be named one of these! Brilliant video as always and look forward to your videos everyday. 😄
After a huge motorbike accident 25 years ago and losing 8 stone in weight I wanted to see if I could try riding for the disabled as I can’t bend my knee. They have a Celt machine at the stables and it’s so amazing to be up on a horse even if not a living breathing one. My aim is ride a real horse but I’m a bit off that yet. I love watching your journey I saw you riding the other peoples horses before your own. I think you and your beautiful babes are adorable good luck in all your future endeavours.
Good luck at badminton you’re going to be great and jam bam is going to make sure of that remember we are all here for you and no matter what happens we will all be super impressed
WELL DONE MEG. Very important step for you, to be able to correct your riding "posture" at this point, while it may take time, patience to implement. A case in point - until I discovered my new pair of stirrup leathers had stretched on my left side, we could not understand why my pony mare Brocade always tended to come onto her left fore when beginning to canter. My left leg has given me more problems throughout my life (now 77) with sciatica and back/hip pain. (Not necessarily from falls from riding!) Best of luck at Badmington. Will await your blog/results in due course. (Am in South Africa.)
Crazy how it's all related isn't it! My right leg is longer than the left and I've realized that it's probably the cause of my tendency to extend a correct, supple bend into an overflexion when I'm trying to maintain proper contact tracking right, and create an inverted outside bend when I'm tracking left; I give more from the right side than I intend to because there's more leg and more pressure. Very hard to correct unless I overcompensate with my left side, which then twists my whole body around . I'm 60 years behind you but still feel like I might need a whole skeleton transplant to ride straight - very intricate and needy sport!! Best of luck with the aches and pains x
I would have loved to have a go on one of these back in the day! Kudos to you for gathering all of the information and experiences that will help you improve. Best of luck at Badders.
Oh Meggy I wish you had shown us your XC round on Margaret and also more of the exercises to correct your posture. Maybe you can do part 2 after Badders? ❤
Very interesting! I wonder if you could get more aligned with the help of an Osteopath and/or a Body SDS practitioner. Both look at the overall picture, and can help working through tension in your body, so you don't fall into the off-centre way you are sitting, helping you in your riding. It might also be helpful with migraines, as you get rid of blockages in your system. (I know this sounds very new-agey, but I have a friend who has benefitted a lot from osteopathy after a horrendous accident). Wishing you all the best at Badminton.
Very interesting 👍 it's probably why you tend to look down/lean a bit in dressage 😉 Would be really cool to see the difference in 6months after you work on position, strength and conditioning any information that can make you better is so important 💗
I just saw this for the first time and am really shocked to see that you have nearly the exact same issues that i do with the left leg coming too far forward, left seatbone being too far down and rotated pelvis. 😮😂❤❤🎉 Wow! My issues came from a horrid fall when I was 14. The resulting issues in my back have caused health issurs as i age, so get thee to a chiropractor!😂❤
I'm pretty sure if I did this, it would be like "equipment malfunction, dummy on board" 😂 I'm starting to ride again after 5 years off and learned very quickly that I've forgotten most of what I know lol
It sorta annoys me that you guys are wearing Joggers (Sneakers in Australian) on the horse but apart from that is seems very cool and very fun! Hope u enjoyed that day!
My first riding instructor would take a pure white numner, give it to me for the horse I was riding that lesson, then at the end of the lesson, we would look at the side that hat touched the horse. If I wasn't sitting correctly, one side would be lighter than the other, because even if you've given the horse a bath and put a rug on it, dirt will still be on the skin. So then she would give me exercises to do at home to improve my posture. Like putting 3 encyclopedias on my head, walking around, sitting down and then standing up. Next lesson, the same thing. New white numner under the saddle, lesson for 1 hour, 1/2 hour walk to cool out, then back into the stable. We'd check it again, after 3 times of doing the encyclopedias, my shoulders, arms, hips and heels were all aligned. And I wasn't tipping my head, I was turning it, but not tipping it. Rider strength, flexibility and fitness are as important as it is for the horse. And with correct aligned posture, you're not forcing your horse to try to stay in balance with you out of balance. Because you aren't. You are working together as one unit then. I still believe in you and Jam for Grassroots Badminton Meg!!! Don't be afraid to trust her! Love from an FEI Level Coach in Ontario, Canada, Jenn. 💖 💖 🇨🇦 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Also this isn’t about the video but I saw that esme commented on Millie’s photo video and I was just wondering if you two could do a Collab with each other maybe go for a hack or do a competition with each other

I thought Meg said the name had to begin with M and have the word Ice in it .
@@angiew1841 These are just for nicknames or stable names. But I am thinking of the name Magic Ice x

Mocha would be so cute for Millie’s foal xx
I went to Naylors and had a go on the mechanical horse and the medium trot was so bouncy so I stayed in canter most of the time or collected trot.
I’d love to try a mechanical horse! Looks fun! Xx
I rode that exact same horse yesterday!! :))

So lucky I wish I was there
Do you do any form of core exercise, like pilates or yoga, it might help with the posture problems.
I LOVE MOCHARA HOWEVER YOU SPELL IT BUT IM TO SMALL FOR THEM 😂
