Holy crap the dramatic irony is so beautiful. The traits that allowed her to take power, being able to see the world from below and being clever enough to manipulate the king on her own is ultimately what leads to her own downfall. She keeps singing about how she doesn’t need swords or advisors, but once she becomes the ruler, she goes to the top of the world and sees her subjects beneath her just as the king did, losing sight and unaware of the growing hostility. I love this song
Storm the Castle by Jonathan Young is a great show of how a young hero breaks the cycle by refusing to become the cruel tyrant he just deposed with literally breaking the crown under heel. This is a great song too and its message of how easy it can be to let power blind you to simple truths is beautiful.
I really love how the song ends with her too above to understand, a story gone full circle. I seriously love this whole thing. I've listened to it so many times I honestly couldn't count if i tried.
I like how at 2:22 she was about to say "like i do" except she doesnt anymore and its replaced by "i am the king" because she no longer sees from below as shes now king Thats just my interpretation ❤ Very cool song
This song is a godly thing my ears have heard, I absolutely love it. I love the way she seemed so innocent and sweet but she’s really a very smart and cunning woman who trusts herself but also gets cocky. She whispers to the king trying to trick him into thinking that there’s a traitor when it’s really her all along, he doesn’t think it’s her because she told him and only an idiot would do something like that (sarcasm) but he still falls from a greedy reign and she takes it up but then falls the same way he did with someone she trusted because she got cocky. It’s an infinity of a loop and a beautifully haunting melody about how history will repeat with smarter people who will all get cocky and repeat until they bring themselves down the very same way they worked themselves up. I recently found you and you’ve definitely reached the top of my favorite artists, this song is very good and is a very helpful writer motivational material for the book I am writing so thank you!
I don't if this is planned or not but using sword earrings , as a mer piece of jewelry, just for decor and nothing more than that ,is chillingly amazing.
I have been listening to this song on repeat for the past weeks. I can't tell you how much i want a fantasy book trilogy and a netflix series based on this
I'm a huge expert on Medieval history and I love this song so much! This is really incredible storytelling within your music writing. It really shows that while the Woman takes the throne from the King, she goes down the same way the King did. it's a clear commentary on how Power and Greed corrupts no matter who's on the Throne. It's brilliant.
I chose this song for a winter guard solo performance because, I loved the irony between them being a servant and them being king, after i got all of the work done and perfecred my hope is to do the performance blindfolded to show how truly blind they were.

The lyrics, background music, vocals, performance just incredible. You came to tell a story and holy shit, did you do that. This is truly an amazing piece of art. A major thank you for creating this masterpiece
This song has given me a story idea. Or at least a story for an idea I already had. So imagine that the woman in the song was angry at the king, maybe being wronged by him in some way and seeks to take his throne. Becoming a servant of the castle, she begins to gain allies among those who are also sick of the king. She even gains the help of some of the guards. Well, one night she manages to approach the king and gives him the warning. That she fears a traitor may turn those he trusts against him. This puts doubt and suspicion into the King’s mind. Slowly, and patiently she stokes the flames, turning the King against his family and advisors. Until eventually she has enough people to take the throne. She kills the King and has the Queen executed and those who followed her crowned her Queen. Success! She has won…or so she thinks. Little does she know that, while the King is dead…the Prince lives. And while he may be a child he will return one day and reclaim the throne that rightfully belongs to him. I just imagine this as a sort of prologue to the story. This was a great song though. Really like it.
This song is flawlessly crafted in every sense. It’s amazing how the verse harmonies start and finish with the same g-minor chord. Many musicians avoid using progressions that begin and end on the same chord, likely due to the challenge of maintaining interest and avoiding repetition. The seamless integration of the chord progression and melody here demonstrates exceptional songwriting skill. Additionally, it underscores the lyrical theme of history repeating itself. Also, the line about seeing the world from below reminds me of a quote from Niccolo Machiavelli’s The Prince: “Those who draw pictures place themselves below in the plain to understand the nature of the mountains and other high places, and in order to understand the plains place themselves upon high mountains.” I don’t know if Machiavelli’s writings inspired the lyrics of this song, but it wouldn’t surprise me. I’m seriously struggling to articulate just how incredible this song is! The combination of incredible songwriting, musical storytelling, high-quality production, and a beautiful and distinct voice is simply astonishing! If you ever decide to play a concert in Estonia, know that I’ll be in the front row with my two best friends, who were the ones to introduce me to your music.
I don't need any convincing I don't need any one to tell me this song is an absolute beauty. Hurt it's the first time I hearing about her. I love this so much 💓
I don't know why, I don't know how, I've never heard any of her songs, but for some reason this video was in my recommendations and now its in my playlist.
The irony of the phrase “I don’t need advisors” is interesting given the story. The utilization of advisors is one of the few ways that absolute monarchies give a voice to the people. By directly appointing a citizen and allowing them to speak freely. Even if they can be ignored, the implication that the previous king utilizes advisors while she insists she “doesn’t need them” is very telling in terms of her priorities. By stating that she doesn’t need advisors she is already setting a bad precedent for her rule. The hints that the protagonist will be a bad ruler after she usurps the throne are given within the first few measures. Also, small detail, that is probably not intentional, but the song starts with no intro. Showing that she doesn’t wait to make decisions, or give people time before she speaks.
in terms of story my brain says this is a great sequel to 'The king' *by Rosendale* specifically with the mc as his daughter out of wedlock who was enraged by the way the people and her mother had been treated, slowly making her way up to avenge those she cares for.
I don't need a sword I don't need advisors To tell me which of us Is proven to be wiser He is the king And I his loyal subject None of us could do what he does He leads his men While I mop the floors I clean the stains of their fallen blood I don't need a sword I don't need advisors To tell me which of us Is proven to be wiser While he sits above His thoughts veil his view He cannot see the world From below like I do It's just a whisper I breathe in his ear I fear there are traitors in our midst I watch his eyes As they roam through the crowd Grow wary as he wonders who it is Not noticing my hands on his crown Bringing it all down I don't need a sword I don't need advisors To tell me which of us Is proven to be wiser While he sits above His thoughts veil his view He cannot see the world From below like I do And then it is too late The cannons have rolled in From the highest tower We watch the fight begin A blade cuts through the air And at once does he know That the one that stands before him Is the one who stole his throne I don't need a sword I don't need advisors To tell me which of us Is proven to be wiser While he sits above His thoughts veil his view He cannot see the world From below like- I am the king And you my loyal subjects Bow down and swear servility I sit above while the peasants bow below Unaware of their hostility And the rest is history

Hi there you might not want this but here it goes, well done. Fresh new and "clear mix". As an older guitarist, I appreciate the flow and the... vibes.
I REALLY love this song! It's so cool how the same lines get continually redefined to mean something different even when the words mean the same thing. "Which of us has proven to be wiser" At first is humility, admitting their lower position, then realising that the king's lack of humility, then fighting and being at the top, and every time the verse is sung it marks another step forwards their descent and it's just so beautifully framed so that every time they're at a different stage so it has a different meaning. Honestly amazing
Your song has been added to my inspiration for a story that is about a king that was a good king at first but then grew to be a prideful and greedy man and this just adds on to it. I really love and admire the vocals and the power behind them. The song in itself is so beautiful and you can see how once the mc gained power, they to were blinded by it and is, ironically their downfall.
AAAAAH The Irony of the story the harmony of this masterpiece. I feel in love with it from the first chords, and your voice is beautiful, so velvety. I love all of this from the beginning to the final! ❤❤❤❤
I love the story! And the storytelling, repating the circle of rule over and over. And the tragic irony ... a treason always comes from those who you trust ... Simply amazing! Thank you.
At this time, I was watching morgana pendragon edits and this song appear at the bottom cause lately I keep listening this masterpiece...and somehow I think this song suits her so well.
this is AMAZING!! the lyrics, the music, the vocals!! and the ending is brilliant i looove plots where the main character makes the same mistake as their nemesis predecessor! it's poetic honestly and it's so rare to find such a thing in songs!!
It is a cool song and a cool story, but do things have to go full circle? A king that inherits the throne by simply being born into a dynasty of major privilege, does not have the same perspective and way of thinking, compared to a king that started from a lowly and humble position in life, but then did things to "earn" the throne. The king that started from the humble background, does have the potential to be different, and to understand the problems of society better, compared to to the king that was simply born into a life of privilege and shelter from the problems of the world. Not all kings and governmental rulers have proven themselves to be harmful to their respective kingdom's. Some kings actually do make their kingdoms wealthier and they do find ways to improve the standards of living for the normal citizens of the kingdom. George Washington was basically the first king of the United States. Did his actions help make the kingdom stronger/wealthier/better off, or did his actions make the kingdom worse off? Kingdoms rise and kingdoms fall. When kingdoms are rising, presumably this is at least partly a result of a king being in power that makes good decisions for the kingdom. When kingdoms fall, it is normally because the king made bad decisions, that made the kingdom fall. Kingdoms are not always falling. Sometimes, kingdoms rise instead.
I'm just imagining a theatre play where, at the end, when the peasant deposes the king, the king goes around in the final lines whispering into the people's ears and then, when the line comes "Bow down and swear civility", the peasants bowing rise up suddenly and hold their hands to the ruler's throat - or better hold a spear at his - and the king frightenedly whispers the last "History," before the curtains draw and one peasant plunges a spear in his chest at the VERY END RIGHT BEFORE the curtain fully closes. I just IMMEDIATELY came to that when the song ended and now my hands hurt...😅
You just gave me an idea for how the main dynasty in my fantasy romance came to life "a rebellious slave woman with fire powers and the ablity to control lava and lightning " And that's how you get matrilineal dynasty called "inferno"
Hi im Lily you're the best singer ever 💝 and you're peasants throne and bears and wolfs is my favorites I go to JB Stephens elementary school third grade
Just stumbled on this thanks to some random UA-cam recommendation, and I really like your writing, I love the way you manage to pervert the lyrics of the chorus to shift their meaning while the song goes on (the verse "I don't need advisors", especially, hits harder each time). I will check some more from you, keep it up ! o/
Ooh, as I searched for new songs to add to my playlist, I stumbled on this one. I immediately love your voice, the lyrics, the tune... Everything. So glad I didn't miss it! (Sorry If I made mistakes, love from France)
Listening to this song reminded me of multiple book series where these dynamics are in place. This is an amazing song with so much love to detail in both lyrics as well as the instruments. The progression detailed is so good. Reflecting on how wisdom is used is extremely interesting. Wisdom for the peasant is removed from responsibility. So as the peasant has no responsibility and is not in the eyes of the people, she thinks that she has a better understanding or would make better decisions. The monarch on the other hand, has to carry responsibility for the people and is under constant scrutiny and threat. This limits decision making and the perspective available. In the end both characters are just limited by the whims of their respective positions, which is why they form a cycle. Thank you for sparking this line of thought for me. I appreciate stimulation through works of art like this song. Keep up the good work I am more than impressed. :D
I'm so glad Peasant's Throne could evoke these thoughts from you 💜. They were exactly what I was thinking about while writing the song. Someone always thinks they know better than everyone else without seeing the full picture and knowing what occurs behind the scenes. But the moment they find themselves in the same seat, they also end up in the same situation.
@@LilithMax Your song reflects that insanely well. Especially the double edged sword element comes out in the middle part. "not noticing my hand on his crown, bringing it all down" where you start going lower on the down to then go up. This works so well on the fall of a monarch and the rise of another. Presenting one perspective is hard enough as it is and you did two to such a high level. Hearing it again and again brings out small little things like this one that just scream of passion and hard work with a vision in mind.
I know I’ve already commented an idea for this song, but I feel like this could be the Evil Queen in a Snow White retelling. Just kind of gives off that vibe.
It's giving "power corrupts". To think you can rule all on your own, to think you are worthy of being the highest in the land, is a corrupt thought. It is the highest arrogance. Yes, he may not be worthy of being king, but what makes you think are either? To think you need no counsel, no other voices, that you are right without a single voice or opposition is to hold the most audacity.
EXACTLY! She repeats the cycle, and those who come after her will do the same 💜
Exactly, and the picture also shows how she gets "blind" once she gets the crown.
Storm the Castle by Jonathan Young is a great show of how a young hero breaks the cycle by refusing to become the cruel tyrant he just deposed with literally breaking the crown under heel. @@LilithMax Then Rosendale's song "The rose" is how the mother felt about how the king treated her. (MY POV ONLY)
Oh yeah, spotify basically recommended this song when listening to Rosendale
And I gotta say, I am not disappointed that it did
I don't need a sword
I don't need advisors
To tell me which of us
Is proven to be wiser
He is the king
And I his loyal subject
None of us could do what he does
He leads his men
While I mop the floors
I clean the stains of their fallen blood
I don't need a sword
I don't need advisors
To tell me which of us
Is proven to be wiser
While he sits above
His thoughts veil his view
He cannot see the world
From below like I do
It's just a whisper
I breathe in his ear
I fear there are traitors in our midst
I watch his eyes
As they roam through the crowd
Grow wary as he wonders who it is
Not noticing my hands on his crown
Bringing it all down
I don't need a sword
I don't need advisors
To tell me which of us
Is proven to be wiser
While he sits above
His thoughts veil his view
He cannot see the world
From below like I do
And then it is too late
The cannons have rolled in
From the highest tower
We watch the fight begin
A blade cuts through the air
And at once does he know
That the one that stands before him
Is the one who stole his throne
I don't need a sword
I don't need advisors
To tell me which of us
Is proven to be wiser
While he sits above
His thoughts veil his view
He cannot see the world
From below like-
I am the king
And you my loyal subjects
Bow down and swear servility
I sit above while the peasants bow below
Unaware of their hostility
And the rest is history

AAAAAH The Irony of the story the harmony of this masterpiece. I feel in love with it from the first chords, and your voice is beautiful, so velvety. I love all of this from the beginning to the final! ❤❤❤❤

Lilith! You are my new favourite discovery. Thank you for this wonderful journey.
I love the story! And the storytelling, repating the circle of rule over and over. And the tragic irony ... a treason always comes from those who you trust ...
Simply amazing! Thank you.

Welcome aboard! 💜
At this time, I was watching morgana pendragon edits and this song appear at the bottom cause lately I keep listening this masterpiece...and somehow I think this song suits her so well.
I love this and need it on a loop!
Glad you enjoyed it!! 💜
this is AMAZING!! the lyrics, the music, the vocals!! and the ending is brilliant i looove plots where the main character makes the same mistake as their nemesis predecessor! it's poetic honestly and it's so rare to find such a thing in songs!!
Thank you! Yesss I enjoy those tales too! It's so satisfying when stories come full circle 💜
I truly love this song
So happy you enjoy it

Absolutely amazing.

What a lucky find, so underrated!!
Damn! This is really good! I thought this song had more views- guys let's support her ❤
💜💜💜
You just gave me an idea for how the main dynasty in my fantasy romance came to life "a rebellious slave woman with fire powers and the ablity to control lava and lightning " And that's how you get matrilineal dynasty called "inferno"
This song is such a fire!!🔥🔥🔥 This is so perfect for my occ
This is such a cool song! I love ancient/powerful sounding songs and this sounds exactly like that!

This song hits real good.
Thanks! 💜
Just stumbled on this thanks to some random UA-cam recommendation, and I really like your writing, I love the way you manage to pervert the lyrics of the chorus to shift their meaning while the song goes on (the verse "I don't need advisors", especially, hits harder each time). I will check some more from you, keep it up ! o/
Glad you found my video! I hope you'll enjoy my new music releases as well :) 💜
I have been waiting for this song to come out so Bad, and i love it
Ooh, as I searched for new songs to add to my playlist, I stumbled on this one. I immediately love your voice, the lyrics, the tune... Everything. So glad I didn't miss it!
(Sorry If I made mistakes, love from France)
I'm glad you found my song! I hope you'll continue enjoying it 💜
This is literally the Anthem of catherine parr, or Elizabeth the 1st. Who's with me? 😊
Now all we need is a male version of this song and then put them one after the other on loop.
I randomly stumbled across this song, and I'm so glad i did.
💜💜
I think this is my favorite aong of all time❤❤❤
