I think this is lunacy - whilst I don't believe the Toyota hybrids will be effected their emissions would lkely be under. I have just got one, a Toyota Yaris 6 months ago on a 3 years 6 months PCP. I can either take out another PCP or purchase the balance and own the vehicle outright. It is pretty frugal on petrol (only a 25 ltr tank) and I get around 450+ miles on that my total is aprox 56.3 3MPG. So this is 3 years away and under 3 years to this proposed date. So big decision time. What concerns me more (and why I went for a Petrol Hybrid) is the fact that they make these decisions and the infrastructure just isn't there to support fast charge for full Electric Vehicles. Home changing isn't possible for everyone and for those able it is a slow charge of a much more expensive electricity cost. I think what this action is likely to do, is keep more petrol only cars on the road until this charging infrastructure can support the fully electric vehicles.
