- October 7, 2023 was the second edition of the Vintage Raceboard Cup by Good Ol' Boards The Netherlands.
More than 30 original racing boards in excellent condition. It turns out that these boards perform excellently even under tough conditions. Many funboard windsurfers were surprised at the speeds these "old" boards can reach.
Downwind course or upwind everything is possible with these boards.
It was a very successful event organized for longboard windsurfing dot org, an organization that supports these types of events.
There were two classes, Vintage and an open class. I was lucky enough to finish first in the Open Class. We look forward to the next event.

Awesome…am searching for a mistral équipe but meanwhile I have purchased an Windsurfer LT to get that old school easy vibe I lost with sinker boards..
Very Fun and Interesting! Good to see the performance of Classic Raceboards verses newer designs.

In Europe there are many contacts with associations and initiators to expand this goal during the season 2024. Nothing stops us from crossing the Atlantic to do that together (The Atlantic passage not by surfboard) 😜Greetings

I have the original Malibu, as well. It is a great board.

Moin Dieter. Vielen Dank für Ihre Antwort. Ich kann ehrlich sagen, dass ich meine Slalomausrüstung kaum noch nutze, seit ich dieses Mistral Equipe habe. Ein Rennbrett bietet so viel mehr Freiheit auf dem Wasser. Eine Art Unabhängigkeit. Ich habe dir auch versprochen, dass ich gut zur Equipe sein würde ... Und das tue ich. Ich wünsche Ihnen alles Gute

Ik ben benieuwd welke planken zoal meedoen en goed meekomen..
Dat zijn eigenlijk de Mistral Equipe 1.5 en de Equipe 2, F2 Lightings, Big mega cat, Van Den Berg Raceboards.. dat soort boards. Al dan niet met een modern zeil. Daar is wel heel veel in verbeterd t.o.v. de originele racezeilen

I understand exactly what you mean and that is indeed not the case. You feel some braking but no sign of a nosedive (so far, the danger is that karma is now around the corner)😆🙈

Ik zou zeggen doe dat de volgende keer. Bij de oude deuren cup in Enschede varen ze mee van 78 jaar oud, dus je bent nog een groentje 😉
