In the words of Mr Darryl Harris: "it was like having a religious experience when it was played in the Paradise Garage, Clubhouse, Catacombs & any number of underground soulful house, disco, & R&B venues throughout the country, possibly world. Simply put, IT KILLED A DANCE FLOOR"
Someone asked me why do I think music was better years ago than it is today, I would tell them to listen to this and compare it to anything on the radio. See there is a difference between being bombarded with viral marketing schemes and then recognizing pure God given universe ordained talent. If these guys didn't make it I believe they would be rocking in a lounge somewhere near Gary, IN or the the south side of Chicago thrilling the people around the way. PEACE to MJ & the J5 !!!
Of all the Michael Jacksons we saw during his lifetime, this is the best, as a teenager, still in tact, uncorrupted, all the genius and none of the garbage.
I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I appreciate any help you can give me
Nah ... He still hadn't come into his own yet. I can't even imagine a world without the LP "Off the Wall." Thriller album was the absolute apex ... Michael's (super)stardom all started to go bad imo after that when he was horribly burned during that Pepsi commercial and he started to use (understandably) painkillers ...
I grew up learning to play the bass to songs such as this. The Jacksons, Holand-Dozier-Holland, a great rearrangement and of course Michael all came together to make this a gem. Thanks for this extended version that highlights so much at play. The Jacksons live performance to this song was something to see. They jammed with their smooth steps.
Smooth Steps? You're right, but these guys have their entire training on display in this song. Listen, Michael did his thing on this song, but his brothers damn near REWROTE how to accompany a lead singer with their expertly executed background singing. For any person that thinks this just mean singing ooh and ahh, allow me to disabuse you of this notion. Industry veteran John Bahler (surprisingly of the Lennon Sisters fame), created some of the arrangements, but nothing in his past indicated that he could spur these guys to do what they did. This is that good. To think that these guys were aged from 24 down to 17, and could perform like this is just incredible. 3 part harmony, 4 part harmony, falsetto, tenor growling, 7th chords_______the whole damn Music Theory book was on display with this song. I would put this work up against ANY work done by vocalists over the last 50 years. Joe, you did your thing.
Had Jermaine Jackson Remained in The Jacksons When They Left Motown, The Jackson would have became a Phenomenal Supergroup !!!! Letting Randy Join The Jacksons was a MISTAKE And a HUGE WASTE OF TIME.. Randy Had no Talent, No Personality, and Randy was a HORRIBLE MUSICIAN !!! ❤i LOVE Hearing Michael ❤ ❤& Jermain Sing Together ❤️

Those Jackson harmonies are so on point, proving michael is not the only great talent in the JACKSONS.
The Jackson's humble beginnings, those young men put their hearts into their performances.

Forever Came Today - Song by The Jackson 5
Lyrics
There you are
Standing there reaching out for me
Something warm in your eyes
Touched my heart
And all the love i never knew
I found in you
Suddenly
My world, my life was standing still
And you touched my hand
I knew that we had laid a plan
For everlasting love
I'm forever dreaming of
At last, at last
My forever came today
When you walked into my life
Made my lonely life a paradise
It came today
Forever came today
Ooh, look in my eyes and see how much i want ya
Feel my touch
You know how much i need ya
I may be young, but i'm old enough to know
Look at me
I will never let it go
Let this moment thrill me a lifetime
Make it last, make it last
Make it last forever
Darling
Ooh, my darling make me yours
As i touch your face
Tell me love has led me (led me)
To this place
And your warm embrace
Thanks to you
Thanks to you my search has ended
And i want the world to see
How gently love has shined on me (shined on me)
With everlasting love (everlasting love)
That i been forever dreaming of
Ooh, you give me love by the hour
Ooh, you're my precious little flower
Girl you give me so much sweetness
Ooh, you give my life completeness
Make it last for more than just a day
Make it last for more than just an hour
Make it last forever
