Australian steam locomotive 3112 - Darling Harbour - January 1992

Scenes recorded from Saturday the 18th to Monday the 27th of January, 1992, of steam locomotive 3112 hauling trips on the now closed Metropolitan Goods line through Darling Harbour.

Awesome! So sad i missed this in person back in the day. Looks like doing loop around via rozelle through darling harbour hence rusty return track next to train. 😂 shots at pyrmont cutting i can imagine the now day tram on the other track passing by. Note the tight clearence near pyrmont bridge hotel bridge, i guess not enough room for overhead and double decker train, maybe too in other spots, otherwise line could have been wired for suburban trains with stations. The dirt flushed to rail section from pyrmont bridge rd to powerhouse when i saw it back then i thought was not negotiable for trains but im wrong here, they could still run on it. Also fast speeds on the viaducts, never saw cargo trains go that fast 😂 tram now goes that fast too. Love the squeal from the rusty track. Jm
