This train station looks grand! It's the world's 3rd largest in the work in terms of traffic flows! I heard it gets over 220 million visitors going through it per year! A good people watching site! LOL
You can go to the Office desk of the subway (RATP), they will explain and sell you Navigo And, they are implementing machines where you can buy directly the Navigo Easy (a card, no photo, 2€) where you can charge your day ticket. If you plan to use the subway a lot during a day, buy Paris VISITE ticket to travel all day. (Zone 1-2 inside Paris, zone 3 to 5 outside Paris). If it is only for 1 or 2 times a day, buy a paper ticket (no need Navigo). Paper ticket is ~2.10€. (Or more, it is changing every time). Well it will be 4€ for one ticket during the Olympics… 😅. Buy the ticket before the Olympic if you can.
Im in Canada and would like to purchase advance tickets. Is there a service you recommend to book tickets? I will be coming from Amsterdam via Thalys then walk to Saint Lazare to catch a train to Caen. Then back again 2 days later. Any suggestions?
Tough question. There is no one site on line to buy all your train tickets for multiple countries that is not third party. People suggest your buy the train ticket from the country of origin of the trip.....so you would buy it from the Netherlands country train site and then I guess the return would be from France? Another option is a Eurail pass depending on how many train trips you take in one month. Not an easy answer. Omio or Trainline are two sites people have used and they charge a few euros per ticket for the convenience but I have not used them before. Let me know what you do. Good luck!
@@leonardsheatravel Hi, I went with Rail Europe. A site like Omio. Thalys to Paris Nord...then 90 mins to get to Saint Lazare so Ill walk there. Then train to Caen. then I will taxi or rent a car to Courselles for a day. I have a room there for 2 nights. Then do the reverse 2 days later but I will have 2.5 hours between trains so I may take a quick bus tour if thats a possibility. Thank you for your videos!
Thank you for this video. I'm thinking about taking the Eurostar to London for a day trip, with no luggage. Traveling solo, and coming back after dark, in February. Is it safe to try to get a taxi or Uber from Gare du Nord at night? Is the taxi line in front of the main entrance? Thanks.
Thank you for this helpful video! I'll be arriving back to Gare du nord from Amsterdam sometime in June (I'll be doing a day trip from Paris) - how do I found out what regional train to catch? (to get to my airbnb)
Hi, Thanks for informative video. With RER going to the airport...where do you get the tickets? Downstairs? And also, what time is the first train to Charles De Gaul?
I bought a month pass, but you can get a ticket at any station with a machine or ticket counter. I think the first train is 5 AM. Good Luck! Thank you for watching!
Great video and helpful. We will be taking the Eurostar from London to Paris for a few days. Where do we buy tickets for the Metro to our hotel near the Eiffel Tower?
When you get off the train, look for the ticket windows where they have attendants. They were very helpful. I tried to buy them from the ticket machine but I couldn't figure it out because it was in French and the machine I got didn't have the button in English.
Great video, you know if is any car rental area around de Gare?? I'm planning to arrive from Belgium and rent a car to go to Normandie, i'd like to pick it up near the Gare du Nord
THANKS YOU for this very informative video! Please correct me if I'm wrong that if we are going to Belgium, we don't need to go to the immigration process like the London one.
If you are going to the UK, you go upstairs through the Bristish blue train part of Eurostar customs and checkin, and once you have done that on the right is a bank of machines which you take your paperwork to for you tax refund, and the machine scans and stamps your paperwork. There are customs people on hand if you get stuck. You then follow the instructions for your refund to go into your bank account. But basically its open for as long as there are trains. I believe that these are the only machines for doing this in the station as you have to be departing the EU in order to do this. Hence this will be open when you are at the station.
Can you advise where to go if traveling to the UK and we need to process a tax refund on goods we purchased in the EU? Any information and how long it takes would be greatly appreciated. 🙏🙏
Very informative, thanks so much

It must have been eerie during COVID! 😬
Thank you for watching!
This has been the Most helpful video yet! Although I do wonder about using their wheelchairs or assistance for mobility. Great info!
There are elevators clearly marked. You should be fine! Good Luck! Thank you for watching!
Do you recommend using the lockers at Garde Du Nord for storing luggage for a few hours until hotel check in/out?
I would rather take my luggage to the hotel and have it there than in the lockers. Hotels usually have a room to store luggage.
aparece la taquilla donde venden la navigo en el video?

Hi. I’ll be coming from london on Eurostar. will I have to go thru customs when I arrive or when im leaving Paris back to london?
You will go through customs both times....coming into Paris from London and ....going from Paris to London. Good Luck! Thank you for watching!

It is safe. But in my opinion... all train stations have lots of pick pockets so please be careful! Thank you for watching!

@@leonardsheatravel Btw, I was told to buy the train tickets online way in advance. What do you think about that? Thanks!
@@Jun-bi3hk you can buy your tickets early and get a good discount on the price. Good idea if you know exactly when you will be travelling.

Are there trolleys in the station? I’m traveling from Paris to Brussels and I have around 4 large bags that I can’t carry by myself
I didn't see any trolleys. Good question. Let me know what you find when you get there. Thank you for watching!
Thanks!! where you take the train to reach Beauvais train station?
Hi, thank you for the video and great explanation. One question, do you know if there are pre-paid lockers inside the station ??
If you come from Brussels via Eurostar , do you need to climb stairs or go down stairs ?
Thanks
