@deadlyshoesalesman Robert Calhoun might not have begun the use of orchestral music just yet. Once that started, the tone of ATWT was enhanced before the Marland era began.
Why wasn't Diana at her father's murder trial? Kim Ulrich chose to leave the show, right? Sometimes I wonder what would have been if she'd stayed a bit longer. I know Marland phased out the last of the McColls (or was Kirk already leaving? Maybe Marland just phased out Brian), but Diana seems like the type of woman Marland would have loved writing for.
I think we can disagree without assigning right or wrong to an observation. I'll take 1984 over 2009, certainly.
This murder mystery was the beginning of the revival of the true ATWT.

@dolemitedavis I hope that's not why we had Todd Manning pretending to be Paul Stenbeck.
RIP Nancy Pinkerton :(
This means Dorian Lord killed Whit McCall. LOL!!
I'd like to, but the well is going to run dry eventually.

She was diana whits daughter
@dolemitedavis Really, did she play that part too?
The funky background music betrays a misguided attempt to seem modern. The 1986 episodes on your channel have better music.
