- Chaos has erupted outside the Johannesburg Central Police Station. Operation Dudula supporters have clashed with police over the arrest of their leader, Nhlanhla 'Lux' Dlamini. He'll be spending the weekend behind bars, following his arrest yesterday. Dlamini's been at the forefront of protests against undocumented foreign nationals. Our reporter Lindokuhle Xulu is at the police station. #DStv403

Regardless what Nhlanhla did or not. By law, he is suppose to attend court the next week day, (he was arrested on Thursday, constitutionally to appear in court by Friday). We should all be crying out, because if now they doing political arrests, our democracy will deteriorate, next the ANC and EFF will be arresting any political opposition, or anyone that speaks ill of them.
It is not imperative that he should be charged in 24 hours as the Criminal Procedure Act. sets a more extensive period in certain circumstances. To be in custody it means there are quite enough evidences/proofs and witnesses and there is a danger to have him outside of jail, either to promote more violence or to use any means to influence the investigations.

No - he was arrested as he attended a meeting and taken to John Vorster by SAPS. He did make a statement at John Vorster last night and called for calm among his supporters. He was supposed to be taken to Roodepoort today to appear in court, but they decided to keep him in jail instead. I think it's a political hit-job against him to "make a point".
