Thanks Peta for reporting the facts. The money waste in this country is unacceptable. Getting a bit tired of working and paying 1/3 of my wage to income tax to see it get wasted. About time the politicians , especially Albanese and his crowd were held accountable for the financial waste.
Most of the general population have no idea how much spending is allocated to the indigenous. It's time the Labor Government were held accountable for their incredible wastage of taxpayer money.
All the politicians are woeful and none of them have any accountability whatsoever. Even the ring wingers are more left than they should be, as they are all elitist Muppets😞
I have no problem with the amount of money that is being spent on indigenous peoples, what I have a problem with, are the right people receiving it,as we can see from the various posts, as more information comes out, there is a groundswell of anger emerging, this is the dangerous and precarious situation that the yes voters are blind to, the yes vote will set back reconciliation decades, like Senator Jacinta Price has said, it's not a voice we need, but ears,
Considering that some of these people have jobs and income of their own, are they part of the on average allocation of the money spent per person. Someone up high needs to start answering serious questions and show some degree of respect to the millions of hard working tax payers that put them there.
The only small issue I have with the reporting is the assertion that the funding actually makes it into the hands of indigenous Australians, it generally doesn’t. It ends up with various organisations that almost always absorb the funding in house.
Great fight back Peta. You can Fact Check the Fact Checkers because you always do your homework!. No Rational person who listens to you or Reads your Newspaper Articles would ever doubt your ability to read Government Documents or Productivity Repirts But lazy Journalists who no longer do thorough Research, or Lazy Politicians who no longer Read Parliamentary Bills before voting on them , would be affronted to think you were so Professional and thorough in the way you consistently Present your work. Good old Groote hahaha. Been mined for nearly 60 years and been paid millions upon millions in royalties yet they have absolutely nothing to show for it. Heard some interesting stories about the guy that "distributes" the funds too.
As you said, Peta, you are well enough educated to read and understand a government report. Unfortunately Albo and his cronies have very little education and are not
Well said. Give em hell. I knew it was tens of billions annually, but not to the magnitude you defined. As indigenous folks are indeed already enshrined in the constitution… maybe not overtly, but then NO Australian is overtly defined in the constitution. The 1967 amendment omitted any doubt made every Australian equal. I know first hand that remote communities have specific challenges, but ideally the spend should be EQUAL for both indigenous and non-indigenous Australians. Helps make the VOICE and the other actions in the upcoming referendum even more of a rort of the taxpayers.
PETA well said , love your reports , spot on , the project should be embarrassed, fact checking , where do they get their information from ? Way out in figures and we all know it.
We don't need a "defund the police" campaign. If you want more divide in the country then sure go for it. How about pushing for adequate use of funds. Being a no voter shouldn't mean you want to take away what's already being given.
"Closing the gap", whilst they stay away from where it's most needed; even possibly the most critical marginalised live: the remote areas. I watched the Price Family documentary (still need to return to read the comments) and realised that Jacinta and Warren are admirable, courageous, truthful and faithful to their people. Domestic Violence was commonplace in the 50', 60's in many struggling homes and 'shame' causes many to stay quiet even today. In the light of following the politics around this Referendum: it has hit me hard that these young Aboriginal girls and women would forgo 'belonging' and possibly become outcasts, even forced into exile from their community and what they know as home. Where is the compassion, genuine feeling for their people of the 80% well-educated, comfortable middle class First Nation Peoples?
Kamal made his first mistake by giving those virtue signalling toss pots on 'The Project' the time of day. His second mistake was being unprepared. He should have known the National Indigenous Australians Agency is only a small part of tax payers money devoted solely to Aborigines and Torres Strait Islanders. He may have mentioned that the NIAA exists as an advisory body to the government as a Governor General Executive Order.
Is it true that the number of people "employed" by the NIAA is around 1,200, with a budget between $3,000,000,000. and $4,000,000,000 and is that on top of the $40,000,000,000.00 mentioned in this discussion? The toss pots on the Project have no idea how the Real World works!!!
Kamahl us not aboriginal...he is Indian...and been dealing with racism his entire career...he should have known he was being used as a patsy by the team on ten!!!!
@@burglar42 He's justifiable aware that he's loved and respected by most (particularly older) Australians. He probably wasn't aware that any respect or affection from those toss pots is conditional to agreeing with their virtue signalling crap.
The muppets on the project really can’t call themselves journalists… If they had any credibility at all , they would apologise immediately… THEY WERE WRONG !!!
Where is the accountability for the spending of the $40 Billion by the indigenous groups !? How do WE the taxpayers who funded the $40 Billion know HOW the money was/is spent !? There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY !!! -- So much for transparency !!!
There needs to be a Royal Commission into where the $40 billion a year we spend on less then 3% of the population has gone to ? Enough of these handouts to an ungrateful population who are constantly calling everyone a racist 😮 But seem more then happy to take $40 billion from us racists every year !!😂😂
They get many A :("money") stick to hit us all with, as each hit more money falls out. Under 3.6% of the population gets near on $40 billion and the other 96 odd % gets sweet fck all, but pays for it, with more and more taxes, as we struggle with the cost-of-living crisis😞 This division will only grow if the massive wedge of the "voice" gets up in-between us all?!
Yes it’s difficult to know if Hamish was genuinely mistaken or not. I guess we should give him the benefit of the doubt. The productivity report figures are pretty well known actually and widely circulated… Kamahl had obviously been made aware of it but couldn’t on the spot remember his source. But it does seem unlikely that an ABC journo like Hamish, moonlighting on the project would be unaware of that information? It’s a scary statistic of course because it means that most indigenous funding has been ineffective at ‘closing the gap’. So what’s the alternative? More ineffective funding? Or a re-think. We know that one of the most damaging social conditions is inter generational unemployment. And we know that the most important skills on to gain employment are literacy and numeracy. Would that be a good place to start? Trying to tackle all problems simultaneously divides resources. The voice is a good example of a distracting new bureaucratic process with no modelled or proven worth to First Nations people. There has been no economic, social or political modelling of this extremely expensive idea.
No wonder Australia has such a massive debt to pay...The government throws money to the aboriginals & what the hell are they doing with all of it?? Saving it up to actually pay for the "lands" they lay claim to??...Hell Ive even seen tv shows where they acknowledge them for fishing in the ocean...Jesus since when do they "own" that as well....
We the 98% of us knew this for some time...The activists r living a great life, and the Linda Burney, Who she hasn't done a thing for the Aboriginals in the bush...Peter Dutton needs to look into this...and why r they receiving so much is that also race money
Remember that the Project relied on fact-checking from the very same fact checkers kicked off Facebook because they aren’t an accredited fact checkers. Maybe the Project could have been a bit more honest and included that disclaimer before attacking people.

Equally disturbing is the fact that Australians are being jammed for up to $40 billion per annum on wind turbines that don’t actually work. All proceeds are sent abroad Every power bill customer is being charged including pensioners and companies and everyone for this renewable scam. Wind turbines need coal fired power grid to start turning. The power generated by turbines making no difference back into the grid as power needs to be balanced on the grid. No other power source can balance out except for coal fired power. Howard introduced renewable energy act 2002 Both parties are working together to screw the people.

I bet there are almost no checks and balances like the for companies that get grants to develop software for government initiatives to make sure they are getting value for money. Where I use to work we were using off shore developers that were writing buggy sub standard code when the rules for the grants specifically stated that we must use Australian developers. We were flying one of the devs out from his home country for 3 months at a time so if we were audited we would tick that box. One of the problems was we knew roughly when the audit would happen. The code was mind bogglingly awful. I wouldn’t be surprised that people are getting away with similar things with all that money.

I have no problem with the amount of money that is being spent on indigenous peoples, what I have a problem with, are the right people receiving it,as we can see from the various posts, as more information comes out, there is a groundswell of anger emerging, this is the dangerous and precarious situation that the yes voters are blind to, the yes vote will set back reconciliation decades, like Senator Jacinta Price has said, it's not a voice we need, but ears,
Next big question, who has their fingers in the 40bn till?
Time to name and account for money and where and to who it is actually going!
Knock out !!
I love this girl.....thanks Peta
Great fight back Peta.
You can Fact Check the Fact Checkers because you always do your homework!.
No Rational person who listens to you or Reads your Newspaper Articles would ever doubt your ability to read Government Documents or Productivity Repirts
But lazy Journalists who no longer do thorough Research, or Lazy Politicians who no longer Read Parliamentary Bills before voting on them , would be affronted to think you were so Professional and thorough in the way you consistently Present your work.
Keep pressing back against the mediocrity and Deception of the "Fact Checkers".
Thank you for your Professional Presentations and courage to keep the Freedom of Speech and Truth alive in this country.
They need to pay everyone else rent.
Speaking of that - they get cheap home loans.
Google: Indigenous home loans
And reparations on top to taxpayers
That’s a lot more then I thought. $44,000 a year per person - and what is the outcome?
Truth Telling, Peta Credlin Style.
So not really the truth
don't forget to add to figure the mining/resource and pastoral royalties paid out . Places like Groote Eylandt for example .
Good old Groote hahaha. Been mined for nearly 60 years and been paid millions upon millions in royalties yet they have absolutely nothing to show for it. Heard some interesting stories about the guy that "distributes" the funds too.
Then add mining royalties on top of that.
As you said, Peta, you are well enough educated to read and understand a government report. Unfortunately Albo and his cronies have very little education and are not
We are wery grateful for your work. God bless you.
Imagine that show “The Project” spreading fake news?
Wow! Who would have guessed!
PETA well said , love your reports , spot on , the project should be embarrassed, fact checking , where do they get their information from ? Way out in figures and we all know it.
At least the voice has exposed the bottomless pit the Aboriginal industry is.
Defund the aboriginal industrial complex
We don't need a "defund the police" campaign. If you want more divide in the country then sure go for it. How about pushing for adequate use of funds. Being a no voter shouldn't mean you want to take away what's already being given.
Only answer is auditing, jailing of any misappropriators and closing down of virtually every agency. Take the burden off taxpayers' backs
Truth be known it is probably more.
Per year it adds up real quick
Woolworths is a referendum fizzer!
Just vote “NO” and keep the Aussie Family together.
United we stand. Divided we fall.

Yep, "fact checking" the new messiah of information can never be wrong.
Where has all that money gone.
Billions of dollars of expenditure but no questions asked where the money is going and who is surreptitously pocketing some.
The muppets on the project really can’t call themselves journalists…
If they had any credibility at all , they would apologise immediately…
THEY WERE WRONG !!!
Where is the accountability for the spending of the $40 Billion by the indigenous groups !?
How do WE the taxpayers who funded the $40 Billion know HOW the money was/is spent !?
There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY !!! -- So much for transparency !!!
Don't let the 40 billion facts get in the way of the Narrative. Well done,Ms Credlin.
As tax paying Australians we need to know exactly what this money is being wasted on .
Tim
There needs to be a Royal Commission into where the $40 billion a year we spend on less then 3% of the population has gone to ? Enough of these handouts to an ungrateful population who are constantly calling everyone a racist 😮 But seem more then happy to take $40 billion from us racists every year !!😂😂
Super comment 👍
And bloody 100% true..🇦🇺
Onya Peta, keep up the good work, smack the idiots around the paddock!
40 Billion!!! Does that mean everyone gets their own stick?
They get many A :("money") stick to hit us all with, as each hit more money falls out.
Under 3.6% of the population gets near on $40 billion and the other 96 odd % gets sweet fck all, but pays for it, with more and more taxes, as we struggle with the cost-of-living crisis😞
This division will only grow if the massive wedge of the "voice" gets up in-between us all?!
@@azzajames7661 yeah do the math? That means every aboriginal should be a millionaire? Dumb fuck...
Good on you. Well done
well out PM did say "this referendum will show the gaps between the indigenous and non-indigenous Australians."
They're not lazy, they're activists pushing an ideology.
Don’t worry they can be both 😅
Where is all that money going ???
This girl should be running our country she’s the only one who talks the truth
She did, whilst Abbot was PM, didn't go so well
I would except Pete Credlin's word before any other jurno as she does her homework before mouthing off.
Spell check
Brilliant Reporting Peta. Please oh please, we wish you were Prime Minister.
Federal aboriginal minister Burney has some questions to answer about this funding and ALL of us need to be asking those questions asap
Close to one trillion over the years .
First heard they're trying to claim the ocean around Australia too. Glad they can afford boats. Vote NO to this farcical Voice and show Albo the door
We the 98% of us knew this for some time...The activists r living a great life, and the Linda Burney, Who she hasn't done a thing for the Aboriginals in the bush...Peter Dutton needs to look into this...and why r they receiving so much is that also race money
Duddo can't even look into a mirror and be credible
Remember that the Project relied on fact-checking from the very same fact checkers kicked off Facebook because they aren’t an accredited fact checkers. Maybe the Project could have been a bit more honest and included that disclaimer before attacking people.
Same useless RMIT mob the ABC has been paying $150k of taxpayers money to every year for fake facts.
Fact checkers are anonymous dopey young academics with access to the internet. None of that makes their assertions credible at all.
First the Voice, then the Invoice!
The project and fact checkers
Both should fall victim to vermineses misinformation act
They just will not admit that the money spent on ATSI is outrageous and over the top. Audit now>
Attic was disbanded because of corruption, money laundering, miss appropriation of funding and embezzlement!!! Need we say more !!!

How is a supposed "information/entertainment " show on network TV ,sooo predictably left wing ?! Isn't that the ABC/SBS's job ? 10 should be ashamed pushing this barrow for years .
Channel Ten is owned by some woke American Group, I think CNN bought it or one of those lefty channels.
If it was right wing, would you accept that?
@@thomasschumacher5362 I was on the left, but I find them ridiculous now. The media has become too political these days. Pushing certain agendas over others. It’s frustrating.
@thomasschumacher5362 No I wouldn't, Thomas. Especially as they even deny they're lefties, with no dissent on the panel. And I also wouldn't want to attend a concert where the singer spouts right wing opinions. Keep partisan politics out of entertainment please.
The taxation office needs to complete a in depth audit of this, and explain to the general public where the 40 billion dollars a year goes to
Do you really trust the ATO? They're corrupt hiding behind voluminous laws act as judge jury and executioner in their own right
Are NO voters, like me, going to push for it or it will stay this way
Equally disturbing is the fact that Australians are being jammed for up to $40 billion per annum on wind turbines that don’t actually work.
All proceeds are sent abroad
Every power bill customer is being charged including pensioners and companies and everyone for this renewable scam.
Wind turbines need coal fired power grid to start turning.
The power generated by turbines making no difference back into the grid as power needs to be balanced on the grid.
No other power source can balance out except for coal fired power.
Howard introduced renewable energy act 2002
Both parties are working together to screw the people.
“Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story”.
The project, like all the aboriginal Dreamtime bunkum “story-telling” is no more then one-sided deflection and distraction from the “real story” ....... you know! What we all previously referred to as the truth. Something which seems to have been deleted from the project handbook on actual journalism. Like many projects, they start with all good intentions but always seem to end up unfinished or botched up so badly beyond repair. Ladies & gentleman I give you “The Project”.
$40 billion ....... yes billion dollars ANNUALLY! Nothing more than a “race tax” on Australian taxpayers. It has to stop! NOW!

• 12 Culturally important Indigenous days
• Taxpayers give $30B annually for 984,000 people (3.8% of the population)
• Expenditure per person in 2012-13 was $43,449 on Indigenous Australian compare to $20,900 on other Australians a ratio of 2.08 to 1 and increase from 1.95 in 2009 ....
* Australian taxpayers spend at least $ 100 million a day on direct support for Indiginous Australians every year , or $ 39.5 Billion of direct government expenditure every single year ...

How much welfare do Aboriginal people get?
On a per person basis, government welfare expenditure was $13,968 per Indigenous Australian, compared with $6,019 per non-Indigenous Australian in 2012-13-this equates to expenditure of $2.32 per Indigenous person for every $1.00 spent per non-Indigenous person.

Why isn’t a very large chunk of all the money getting to indigenous communities in the ground in the forms of services?
Talk about smashed houses and schools in wilcania...the pub and store left intact. That tells me where the money goes...and where priority lies. It was an mostly aboriginal town
Imagine if the government gave that money directly to indigenous people instead... Imagine how empowering that could be imagine the investments that they could make in their own communities for themselves instead of most of it getting wasted on paying government employees.
Im surprised channel 10 still persists to air The Project. Waste of time and money. Can they interview Albo now. I want to see his face now that Kamal is definitely voting NO.
Wow, don't aggravate the lady! That ain't no lady that lady is a tiger.
