man, I really miss kovy. in my opinion he was the best pure sniper of the 2000s, I really hope that someday he gets into the hof, he was the most exciting player to watch, shorthanded breakaways, power play bombs from the point, and even strenghth wristers. he was a speedy, strong, tricky player, who dominated. he didn't just stand in the same place every game like ovechkin, he was all over the place and was the face of the thrashers. I know he doesn't have longevity or a lot of awards, but I think he dominated in America and in Russia, so he should be a member of the hof, right?
Dylan Harris you could certainly make the case given his numbers, as he scored over 400 goals and was a point per game player in his nhl career, as well as helping carry the devils to a stanley cup final appearance, he could find himself in the hall at some point
just re-watched this video like 3 times. god I miss Kovy... I am fearful that the NJD will never have a player as dynamic or exciting as him ever again. my favourite Devil of all time.
nexushockeyHD As a Ranger fan, I couldn’t agree more. That 2012-13 Devil team was a lot better than most people think. Had Kovy succeeded Parise as your captain, you guys would’ve maintained the Conference lead in the 2012-13 shortened lockout season and he would’ve led you guys in goals with 32, tying Alex Ovechkin because then Kovy wouldn’t have gotten hurt and then we would’ve beaten you in 5 games in the 2nd round of the 2013 playoffs.
@@thefives7ar one great year. Hall was cool too but when it comes to raw skill Kovalchuk has him beat by a fair margin. personal preference but I like Kovy a lot better
@@nexushockeyHD Yeah Kovalchuk was the better player but no player in the history of the Devils carried a team like Hall did. Kovalchuk never really had too because he had support from guys like Parise and Elias.
I guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the account password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
Don't care what anyone says, him and Alex semin are two of the most skilled, natural goal scorers of all time and kovalchuk is currently the best player not in the NHL. He also played with a physical edge which was nice also
There are only two players I ever watched that just seemed to have their wrister completely perfected and figured out. Kovalchuk and Kovalev. Kovalchuk just seemed so effortless and laser accurate, Kovalev would have that weird twisted angle on his stick on the finish that was mesmerizing and the guy could go top corner from across the ice one-handed. If anyone remembers Kovalchuk's Atlanta days when he would just CONSTANTLY bang it off the crossbar and in, it felt like he was purposely doing it and it worked every single time. Brilliant shooters and puck handlers.

If Kovy had been the Devils captain in 2012-13, that Devil team would’ve maintained the Conference lead and then at least lost to my Rangers in 5 games in the ECSF because then Kovy would’ve never gotten hurt that season.
LOL Do you feel that way now? Hall is about to win the Hart trophy for carrying the young Devs to the playoffs. He took his game to another level this year, best season for a Devils forward in franchise history.
How many 52 goal season does Hall have? Halls PPG:0.90 while Kovy's is 1.00 on a much bigger sample size too. So yes Hall cant even hold Kovy's jock strap.
He needs to return. The KHL is treating him like shit now. He was benched by his coach and played 4 games in the playoffs! FOUR GAMES! And, he isn't gonna be captain of the SKA team if he keeps playing for them. He needs to return, I miss watching him destroy opponents in the NHL.
I mean it would be nice for kovalchuk to come back and play for nj next year but really the Devils are trying to get younger. Bratt, hischier, butcher, Coleman, lappin, and pietila. Hall is an absolute BEAST for the Devils right now and so is Nico Hischier so I mean the Devils lines are really good and the addition of Grabner would be even better. Kovalchuk would play on like the 3rd line for NJ and u bet Kovy would not want that to happen for him
+Alex Altiere I definitely wouldn't mind but you can't help but wonder where exactly he fits in the whole process of a rebuild. I mean sure, he'd be a good addition for some scoring and maybe help a playoff push but that's why I was really hoping he would find a way back for the rest of this season (however complicated it would've been). It would be a weird situation with the new regime in Shero and Hynes. But I would definitely love to see him return.

Кто такой hof?)
hall of fame зал славы
he is one of the best and now he is coming back to nhl
I'm over him leaving the way he did, now I just miss these kind of goals.

he was so good
Kovy please come back
Hope Kovalchuk returns during the Devils 2017-18 season!
people pissed how he left... but Devils miss him bad. Hall is great but doesn't hold a candle to Kovy

as if the NHL wasn't treating non American players like shit. Kovalchuk will retire as a KHL player. It's a done deal.
I doubt it, he's expressed a lot of interest in returning.
TheVanezi maybe he'll play for new Las Vegas team?
Where did he express a lot of interest? all he said was that everything is possible. He's already proven his capabilities while his time in the NHL.
