Once you touch This Bliss, there is No way for questioning Your experience. There is No 50/50. Only Whole and One.
One touch of the Bliss, You have Bliss for Eternity.
Only when We Go Beyond All and BEYOND Ourselves, We find All WITHIN US.
And there is One way to get You There!
    "Just follow Your Bliss!"
then All roads will take You there.
    But You need to
(see, feel, reach, touch, dig, dream, dare, Be and) Go
    Beyond!
(depths, heights, mountains, skies, stars, senses, tomorrow, fears)
Now Go find for Yourself how long Eternity lasts!
    By following Your Bliss!

My father was like the father at the restaurant. He NEVER let me do ANYTHING I wanted. Instinctively I knew that in order to do what I wanted, to follow my bliss, I would have to steal my time and resources. Which I happily did. Books he did not want me to read, I hid them and read them anyway. Movies he did not want me to see, I snuck in and saw them anyway. Places I wanted to go, I went when he wasn't looking. I turned 18, became a legal adult, and I was outta there! Been following my bliss ever since.

In a way, it's all about knowing that you are the right character for your journey.
The "journey" is to realize that you are the right student, when you stop trying to change the student so that he may learn the lesson that he was supposed to learn.
Your teacher says: "You are the perfect student, and I know it, but you don't."
"You deserve more credence than you give yourself, because you evaluate too much who you are based on what you did and didn't do, and not enough on what you can and will do."
"I as a teacher know all that you can and will do, which is why I have no doubt about you and the completion of your journey.
But you my friend are full of doubt about yourself because you look too much on what you have achieved so far and most regrettably on what you haven't achieved. But I say, take heart in your ability. Do not deny your potential because it hasn't been revealed yet. Learn to expect yourself and your future deeds instead of looking over your shoulder and they will come true. Be confident that your potential is there and do not be disheartened because it has not been manifested yet. Look to the future, think only about the future to come, think about what you know deep down to be inevitable, and let it come, let it reach you in the present, let yourself be pulled towards it, let yourself be torn from the past into something new."
The manifestation of who you are is only commensurate to how much faith you place in yourself.
"Ye of little faith" means "ye of little faith in me AND yourself who are just like me."
"Your lack of faith in yourself IS your lack of faith in me"
So do not doubt, but expect and receive.
That's what it truly means to be a man of faith.
Not to end doubt with dogmas but with faith in yourself.
That's all that the true teachers have to teach.

If you love what you do for a living, you can both follow your bliss as well as feed your family. The point is - the salary is sufficient but secondary. Perhaps you could make more money elsewhere and be miserable, or make less money and be happy.. Choose wisely.

I had this problem as well. I solved it both by having a larger goal (in my case, education), and doing something smaller in the immediate moment (flamenco dance lessons). The spiritual teachings of India go even further, and recommend choosing contentment in the present moment, and avoiding negativities and compulsive desires (drugs, alcohol, etc) as a path toward having bliss no matter the circumstances. Is there a way to bring more love and compassion into your every day interactions?

"I knew my rapture." "what was your rapture?" "I haven't found it yet. New ones keep coming." (exaggeration, but the way he answered the question) -- I know he _could_ succinctly describe it if he wanted to, but it's disingenuous to say things like, "I've discovered," when you aren't decided or reconciled to a core concept of your own philosophical approach yet.

  • @renzo6490

I was always confused by the term ' follow your bliss'.
How does one know what one's bliss IS?
Imagine a little boy whose father is ashamed and embarrassed by his son's effeminate nature and neglects and abuses him.
Imagine that little boy becomes an adult and all through his life is obsessed by the need to be accepted by a man.
He continually puts himself into situations where he might be hurt, arrested, and /or harmed by disease.
Couldn't that drive for approval be considered his Bliss?
What is one's bliss and how can one recognize it?
