I appreciate your honesty... I understand these cars are "drivers" and not show cars and appreciate that you're honest about how much attention they need...
At least you’re honest about all of the flaws because you really can’t see them from a short glance. Some of us actually enjoy tinkering around and we can decide if it’s something that we can handle it or not. Honesty Appreciated!
This might be the best buy on the lot.! I'm not a Ford guy, but there are certain Fords I do love and this is one of them.! Along with the convertible Fairlane y'all have.! Maybe someday 😢😢😢😢😢😢
When I was 9 years old my uncle bought a brand new identical Mach1. 🎊 😎 🎊 He added headers, carb\intake, and still has it today! California rust free car...😉
Around 1975, my favorite Uncle bought a '71 Mach 1, (used/mint) darker blue metallic with a white interior, same motor and nice wheels too. He only owned it for 6 months. In that time, It was STOLEN TWICE!!! The FIRST time, when he got it back, it was a all dirty inside (full of BEER cans!!) of course the ignition was popped, and outside with a couple of scrapes. He had it all fixed back mint. Then, not a month later, it was stolen a SECOND TIME, and this time the thieves got into a HIGH SPEED CHASE with the Cops, who ALMOST caught them, but they JUMPED the car OVER A WALL and GOT AWAY!!! When they finally recovered the car, the undercarriage was completely crushed, and the car was a TOTAL LOSS. My Uncle was PEEVED. He went out and bought a Volkswagen Beetle, because he thought who's gonna steal THAT!!!
My brother had a 1971 raven black with Argent stripes mach 1 . His was a factory 351 Cleveland 4 barrel with ram air with c6 transmission and 9 inch factory rear end. Fully loaded with the decor package interior. Beautiful car. I like this one too. 😊
That's my favorite Mustang style ever. The Mach 1 is just something special. How could it possibly be so reasonably priced... That's without a doubt an absolute dream car
@dannyv2335 yeah it's nice to dream but that car would not be for me. I couldn't afford to treat her the way she should be. I'd end up driving her into the ground. I just couldn't afford to take care of her properly. Though my best friend is a Master car restorer/ painter at Jasper cars in Vancouver, Canada. Nothing's free though.
@dannyv2335 Yes, it's a nice dream. I couldn't afford to take care of her properly. Though my best friend is a Master car restorer/painter at Jasper cars in Vancouver. You should see his personal Ford fairlane fastback he has almost finished. Hundreds and hundreds of hours And an unbelievable amount of cash into this car. wowzers It's going to be something to behold. No, it won't be restored per se But will be a completely modernized stealth bullet.
I remember the first time sitting in the backseat of my parents' car while my dad was driving, I spotted this same car, except with the silver on the hood, side and spoiler, parked diagonally across someone's yard, for sale for $2500. That was in the mid 80s. My dad promised to get me "something like that" to drive for high school (which he never delivered on), and ever since I dreamed of this car (Mach 1s in general). Part of the reason he never delivered is he just didn't have enough money at the time, and every time he thought he might have enough, prices just kept climbing and climbing. And they kept climbing until we have what we have today.
Pretty nice Mustang, smokes a bit Like your detailed videos Thanks for keeping your selection of cars affordable Hopefully one day I'll come get one from y'all
Ok, so realistically, it's gonna need quarter panels and outer wheelhouses. But at $23,900 for a real Mach 1? 100% worth it! This is the kind of car that's worth putting money into, because you're not paying $50K for it. And that Grabber Blue paint is amazing
In 10th grade in Dallas I had a '73 Mercury Cougar "Eliminator" in turquoise blue with white interior, 351CI. It was a p.o.s. and I didn't have know-how, nor money, to fix it. Still a cool rare car if it was here.
The most gourgeus mustang mach 1 ,I have seen in a long time, had one in Green back in1980,always a favorite car of mine, my son Jimmi ,loves mustangs ,he is 47 years old, drives a honda civic sportscar thanks Nick great video and testdriving stay cool 😊😊😊
Wow this brings back good memories. I had several Stangs back in the late 80s. My 71 Mach 1, 351C, same blue paint with the Silver stripes following the Ram Air hood contour. Good times and not so good times with that LEO magnet😅
The hardest thing to clean on this car, was the inside of the back window. You definitely needed some very long arms, and the glass was an angle down as much as the other fast facts
My cousin had a 72 Mach 1 mustang except he had the front end from a 71 Mach 1 mustang he told me that I missed everything back then and I agree I was born in 1997 and I wished I was alive when those beautiful classic cars were out on the road I’m 27 years old and people are shocked when I tell them I’m into classic cars trucks and motorcycles from 1924-1992
Sure it does need restored, if you know or can do it yourself, this is a good deal at this price, you could get the body work done and repainted and get the back and side louvers, and have a dream car if you're into Ford's, I myself don't care for Ford's but I do like these 👍 Nick this won't last at this price, someone out of state will definitely scoop this one up 🔥
Nice car, bullet proof 351, pretty clean and dry underneath, not like the Charger you had in the last one, it had a built in rust proofing system going on there.....sorry she was leaking like a little girl.
When this body style first came out a lot of people hated the "fat" Mustangs. Now they have grown on me. The 351 Cleveland was a great engine, even the 2 barrel. This one looks like a good car.
I would want to see the door tag to verify this is a Mach1 for this price. Should be a body code 63R. I suspect it is 63D which would be a plain sports roof. Still would make a nice driver just need to know what you are getting.
Besides Buicks of this year, this is one of my favorite mustangs. I love the mach one body style. Of I couldn't get a Buick GS/GSX I'd look for a Mach one. ,351 is one of the best Ford motors v8's. Lov Chris car.
CLAH LEEN!!!! undercarriage was solid and dry I like these old machs👍🏻this one is nice nick and definitely my favorite color on it... it wont last especially at that price✌🏼
I love the Mach 1's. This one looks like it was originally red and was repainted blue. The rear quarters and bottoms of the doors and rocker panels also look like they are filled with bondo that is now cracking instead of cutting out the rust and welding in new steel. The trunk also looks like it has been extensively patched and sealed with something that looks like JB Weld that has been spray painted over with flat black to hide the repairs. The good news is that the engine sounds good and the frame and drive train look good with no visible breaks, cracks or oil leaks. Nick is honest and the price is probably about right if you don't mind doing some much-needed body work and a good paint job that will probably cost between ten to twenty thousand dollars, depending on how much rot and rust are hidden under the bondo and paint.
Very nice for a 54 year old car. You just have to expect a few issues. It's a shame about the paint bubbles because it looks like a very nice paint job, however somebody got to a point and just shot the paint and skipped the tac rag wipe. In the truck it looks like a panel behind the seat also folds into the truck to give solid area when seats are folded forward for larger items, never seen that before ( edit, I just looked at pics on the site, yes that middle panel of back seat for pass through does fold down in trunk for pass through of longer items). Huh, even the clock works.
1970 Mach One, from factory has a M on the window vin ID,, the M stood for modified, had bolt down hood, big block, 10 1/2 to 1 compression ratio, 3/4 race cam,, coke can intake valves, 5 mpg fuel economy, 0 to 60 in 2 seconds. Seats were contoured low bucket seats to hold you in, cant touch the dash in acceleration. Only one other car could compete, 1968 Z28 Camero, it would be faster out the gate but the Mach One would catch it and pass it at about 3 seconds around 80 mph, runs over 200 mph easy. No where to drive a car like that any more. I think Chiltons rated it at about 400 hp, back then, thats changed twice or three times, today it would be rated around 1500 to 2000 hp, they dont measure it the same as then.. On the back had 36 inch tall tires by 16 width, could smoke them both at 60 mph. Cant let anyone test drive these, never touch the accelerator like a regular car, barely touch it and youve shot over a hundred feet and 40 mph in a half second, well maybe a second, its so fast cant time that. It will pin you to the back of the seat, Scare you. Dont wreck it. They are also hard to find.
Good price on a nice looking Fastback Mustang with a 351. Wouldnt take much money to fix the blower motor. DIY would be less than $100.00. Horn is a simple fix. Thanks Nick!
Yes. I think it was a fastback mustang a 1973 model I think. It probably has this same 351 Cleveland V8 engine. The base engine in the fastback was a 302 V8.
Don't take things too seriously on this channel bro. Southgate always runs that shot in his demo videos - let the car roll for a few feet while shooting video.
Nicely priced… Finance it and restore it, values on these stangs are going up. You don’t see too many of the big horse stangs, they are not that big either compared to current muscle cars. Somebody is going jump on this deal, congrats man 👍
I will tell you the truth, I hate Mustangs, but for some reason, the Grabber Blue or green ones, 71 to 73 were cool to me, 71 had the 429 but the 72 and 73 had 351s but this looked perfect🙌 besides the headliner and horn🤷 easy fun fix
This is a nice daily driver type of car left as is, however if you want it nicer you need to get it repainted and new metal panel work on the lower body areas, or the rust will just get worse. The headliner should be repaired too or leave as is as a daily driver. Body work and paint is very expensive unless you can do that yourself.
I appreciate your honesty... I understand these cars are "drivers" and not show cars and appreciate that you're honest about how much attention they need...
Thanks! We want to be honest about what you're getting.

Good business keeps business gotta love an honest sale.
Always nice to see a Mustang!

Ford 9” practically indestructible 😊
Back in 1990, my homeboy had a car like this with a 6 cylinder. We called it the 5.0. RIP Big homie
That's my favorite Mustang style ever. The Mach 1 is just something special. How could it possibly be so reasonably priced... That's without a doubt an absolute dream car
Cause it’s eating itself from the inside under the paint
@dannyv2335 yeah it's nice to dream but that car would not be for me. I couldn't afford to treat her the way she should be. I'd end up driving her into the ground. Bondo bucket, those quarters and lower doors gonna cost some serious money.

Beautiful Mustang . I’m going to send Santa 🎅🏻down there to pick it up. It won’t last long for that price. Hope all you have a Happy Holidays
I work 3 jobs and don't have very much time to come there. Would love to but I would fall in love with just about all of your cars
Now that's a Mustang
Man, that's the cleanest undercarriage you guys have ever shown!
I can see why it sold so fast Awesome Nick !📞
Its the little things that make a good buy, because repairs are not cheap kids.
Boy you ain’t kidding!
Got ‘71 Toyota Land Cruiser, and boy howdy is finding parts like tracking down Bigfoot.
@Daddy53751 You will probably have good luck in finding parts in california.
Pretty nice Mustang, smokes a bit
Like your detailed videos
Thanks for keeping your selection of cars affordable
Hopefully one day I'll come get one from y'all
Thank you! We strive for good quality at fair prices
Would like to know about rusty floors
Danggggg Santa needs a new sleigh 🎅
My second love the mack1 then I ended up with a 1970 tereno gt cobra Daytona 500 .it was racing green and gold I miss that car.

Of course the oil pressure is slow Nick, it's 52 years old. She's a little slower in them golden years 😂
Sure it does need restored, if you know or can do it yourself, this is a good deal at this price, you could get the body work done and repainted and get the back and side louvers, and have a dream car if you're into Ford's, I myself don't care for Ford's but I do like these 👍 Nick this won't last at this price, someone out of state will definitely scoop this one up 🔥

My favorite good looking car back when I was a kid. Barracuda was up there too.

Nice looking Fastback. Ford power . Gotta love the Ford Mustang
Dude this one is pretty sweet as well as that Impala and those Grand Nationals. Much lub Merry Christmas and Happy 2025! 🎅🙏🌎🇺🇸🍾🍾🍾

Awesome car. Thanks for the video's
I hope its priced accordingly, its got some body issues.

Not a Ford fan, but as a car guy can deff appreciate that stang. My top 3 Red 69 chevelle, white 70 nove, silver 70 camaro.
Yup, they spray undercoating over the rust. Hillbilly restoration.
lmao, cmon u can barely tell
Wow it still has the center arm rest top intact
Good Morning There Nick Southgate Of Maple Motors

Nice jingle on the opening!
A couple of spots in the trunk I seen light through it easy fix little electrical work.
Nice car and the clock even works!
Whoever did the "paint and body work" just filled the rust holes with Bondo and slathered on the paint.
CLAH LEEN!!!! undercarriage was solid and dry I like these old machs👍🏻this one is nice nick and definitely my favorite color on it... it wont last especially at that price✌🏼
Love those cars

Wasn't a Mach 1 featured on Diamonds Are Forever?
Yes. I think it was a fastback mustang a 1973 model I think. It probably has this same 351 Cleveland V8 engine. The base engine in the fastback was a 302 V8.
Beautiful car Nick 🏁🌟💯
How mutch would the payments be
That’s a 71 because of the front turn signals on the grill are horizontal (side facing) 72-73 are vertical (up and down)
Did you get this Car out of Saskatchewan Canada?
Restore time. This is a jewel awaiting justice.
Oh yeah baby
I had a friend who had a Mach 1 just like that
Beautiful Mach 💙
Wow driverless classic muscle cars. The future is here.
If that had one more pedal, I'd be down with a cashier's check.
My knee says 2 pedals are fine .
Inspect before you do anything
This sweet ride has some issues, but it is a good value.
Apparently at 0:16 in...no driver, or did I miss something?
FSD - full self driving
@@opinionmatters7119 one of the few cars of this era that came factory installed

I'm a body man that is doing his own vehicle
H code engine . 177hp & 284ft/lb 2bbl, maybe a couple more ponies with the 4bbl brawler upgrade/mallory unilite/ exhaust.
That is one sharp car
It’s been sold for days.
I will tell you the truth, I hate Mustangs, but for some reason, the Grabber Blue or green ones, 71 to 73 were cool to me, 71 had the 429 but the 72 and 73 had 351s but this looked perfect🙌 besides the headliner and horn🤷 easy fun fix

the horn never works but easy fix awesome car
Damn I'd like to have that one.
A little bubbly up here in the rust belt we call them rustangs looks like its been repaired once and now the cancer is coming back
🐶 Get R Done 🍀✌️
Tell me there is a Cleveland motor pushing that pony . ?
Appears to be a Cleveland by the valve covers (8 bolts vs 6 for the windsor)
Is it a 351 Windsor or cleavland
Looks like a Cleveland
that will sell fast
I won the horn bet. What kinda prize 🎉 do I get? 😂
1969 mark 1 was the best.
Yes horn works
Cool I had a 1973
Is that a 351 Cleveland or Windsor?
Like the mustang
SHOULD HIT PASSING GEAR AND OPEN UP IT DIDN'T?
you got lucky !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I want this car
71 to 73 looks awesome.........from the front. But that behind is embarrassing.
351 Cleveland or Windsor?
too much rust...The cracking is bondo.. Question is, how much bondo? It could cost you more to repair the rust than the price of the car!
oh he said crack in the paint lmfao
