The overwhelming majority of current GEN games run and look better on the PS5, therefore if you have both the X and a PS5 you should be buying about 75% of your games on the PS5. One of the major perks about having both platforms is you can buy and play the better version. If you are dumb to buy a game on the X that performs worse than the PS5 Version you have problems you’re basically paying the same amount of money for less experience when you have disappear your platform right there. Heck even Microsoft first party studio games run better on the PS5 like Ghost Wire Tokyo!!. Some people want a more pocket friendly console so they get Xbox & gamepass where they get access to old games catalogue & newer AAA games on day one. Others just want better experience even if they have to spend $70-80 on a game so they get Playstation.
I mostly buy and play the games I want but as someone who has both series x and ps5 the ps+ service has way more quality games when it comes to first and 3rd party tbh . Xbox is the only console without a gaming identity. Its like look Nintendo has pokemon, Zelda, SSB, and Sony has Spider-man, God of War, Horizon. I still think the OG Xbox was a cool and unique console for ITS TIME that got some compelling games that just weren’t possible on the PS2 (or the devs just didn’t want to bother). But that was a console headed up by actual software/engineering nerds (like Seamus Blackley and J Allard) who actually UNDERSTOOD the “power” that games had as a creative medium. Nowadays, it seems the brand is simply managed by a bunch of suits and “hype men” who don’t actually know how to push the envelope in the realm of creativity and design so their MO is to utilize the SAME methodology that helped Windows to take off: “Trojan Horse” their subpar, pedestrian software on to ANY and EVERY device compatible with a display. It’s not a bad tactic, per se, but I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND the capping and cheerleading for it at the consumer level. Because as a consumer, I only care about getting content that’s WORTH MY TIME and MONEY. Outside of that, nothing about expanding the “access” for your entertainment products gets me excited in any meaningful way (because if all I cared about was “access” and “value,” there’s about a MILLION 100% FREE BS games available through my mobile device or internet browser that I could play RIGHT NOW if my only concern was finding some mild stimulation and escapism).

The reason XBox is not up to par is because Sony has put all the hard work into focusing on Playstation, the tech, the games, everything. Xbox or Microsoft in this case has been focusing solely on PC gaming which is sad because the console shows its performance compared to Playstation. The PS5 is and has been proven to be the powerhouse console even over a suped up PC and runs better in some cases. Ratchet and Clank rift apart had to cancel cross gen console to Xbox version of the game because Xbox could NOT keep up with the performance of the game that the PS5 runs flawlessly. Xbox series X does not have what it takes compared to the PS5. Game pass used to be the best as far as game catalogs could offer. Since Playstation has intruded the 3 tier PS Plus subscriptions, the game catalog has extended and has some of the best games and AAA titles on Elite and Premium subscriptions for up to $120/yr. It has literally paid for itself and the year is not even over. I probably have $1k worth of games thus far from my Premium subscription for $120. Can’t beat that. Playstation 5 is the next gen console that is breaking waves and is going to continue to out perform Xbox at this rate.

I always figured that ever since the RROD, the Kinect, and Xbox One failed launch that Microsoft was trying to get out of hardware in some way, and a lot of their actions, like making a new Series S model, with no Series X counterpart seems like their stepping stone to leaving. And I figure once they exit the console market, they will make all Bethesda, ABK (sans CoD), and most likely Sega games will be PC/mobile exclusive, just to spite Sony.

The overwhelming majority of current GEN games run and look better on the PS5, therefore if you have both the X and a PS5 you should be buying about 75% of your games on the PS5. One of the major perks about having both platforms is you can buy and play the better version. If you are dumb to buy a game on the X that performs worse than the PS5 Version you have problems you’re basically paying the same amount of money for less experience when you have disappear your platform right there. Heck even Microsoft first party studio games run better on the PS5 like Ghost Wire Tokyo!!. But that was a console headed up by actual software/engineering nerds (like Seamus Blackley and J Allard) who actually UNDERSTOOD the “power” that games had as a creative medium.
Nowadays, it seems the brand is simply managed by a bunch of suits and “hype men” who don’t actually know how to push the envelope in the realm of creativity and design so their MO is to utilize the SAME methodology that helped Windows to take off: “Trojan Horse” their subpar, pedestrian software on to ANY and EVERY device compatible with a display.
It’s not a bad tactic, per se, but I REALLY DON’T UNDERSTAND the capping and cheerleading for it at the consumer level. Because as a consumer, I only care about getting content that’s WORTH MY TIME and MONEY. Outside of that, nothing about expanding the “access” for your entertainment products gets me excited in any meaningful way (because if all I cared about was “access” and “value,” there’s about a MILLION 100% FREE BS games available through my mobile device or internet browser that I could play RIGHT NOW if my only concern was finding some mild stimulation and escapism).

The reason XBox is not up to par is because Sony has put all the hard work into focusing on Playstation, the tech, the games, everything. Xbox or Microsoft in this case has been focusing solely on PC gaming which is sad because the console shows its performance compared to Playstation. The PS5 is and has been proven to be the powerhouse console even over a suped up PC and runs better in some cases. Ratchet and Clank rift apart had to cancel cross gen console to Xbox version of the game because Xbox could NOT keep up with the performance of the game that the PS5 runs flawlessly. Xbox series X does not have what it takes compared to the PS5. Game pass used to be the best as far as game catalogs could offer. Since Playstation has intruded the 3 tier PS Plus subscriptions, the game catalog has extended and has some of the best games and AAA titles on Elite and Premium subscriptions for up to $120/yr. It has literally paid for itself and the year is not even over. I probably have $1k worth of games thus far from my Premium subscription for $120. Can’t beat that. Playstation 5 is the next gen console that is breaking waves and is going to continue to out perform Xbox at this rate.

I always figured that ever since the RROD, the Kinect, and Xbox One failed launch that Microsoft was trying to get out of hardware in some way, and a lot of their actions, like making a new Series S model, with no Series X counterpart seems like their stepping stone to leaving.
