- In todays video I will be using our 1929 Ford Roadster to rip my ugly US Bumpers off! Also adding oil into the cylinders to hopefully get my BMW motor to turn over!
Be sure to follow along and subscribe to continue to watch my journey of restoring this car and putting a FLATHEAD MOTOR in it!
as an old guy i think you have humor and hell why not share the journey. wish yoy the best on ur little beemer.
Haha thank you!!
swapping a motor notorious for overheating with another motor notorious for overheating, love it!
Best episode yet. Good job. I’d leave the front bumper off, the front looks racer.
Thank you for watching!!
I’d also use an impact driver to loosen up those nuts in the trunk
Cool project
Good stuff. Im currently restoring one too. The rust repairs are taking a while but all parts available.
Thank you! They are a blast to work on. Totally agree helps having parts available
Hi. U.K. interested in your channel and this 2002 build. We can’t wait to watch more…more often. It’ll look phenomenal once completed. Try WD40 on those stubborn tight nuts and bolts. A fresh Oil change. Remove the rusty deposits visible, soak it more and the cam chain when turning by hand. Probably need new plugs and points? Imagine if you chopped into a custom pick up truck!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧😃
Thank you so much for watching!
I subscribed .@@KellyBuilds
Thank you!
WD40 is a water dispersal liquid and the 40 stands for the number of times they tried till they got it right... the best release agent for rusted nuts and bolts is 50/50 ATF to Acetone...
I would change the oil, and it looks like there’s rust on the overhead cam parts that I would not try and start it if those rust chunks start to circulate through the crankcase? Just me thinking aloud 🤔
@11:14 So Right! Also those rectangular side indicators... lamentable, horrific!👴🤮
What did you pay for that heap? The reason I ask, my late uncle has 2 roundie Agave 2002s that are up on blocks that were formerly running and in comparatively better condition than yours. I’d like to keep them in the family but I don’t know where to store them
I woulda put the wheel chocks on the rear of the wheels, but I’m kinda picky about physics 😮
Very strong engine block. I may be wrong, but I think those were the blocks used to power the Brabham BMW F1 cars. The 1500 turbos with the 1500hp (for qualifying)😮
Yeah we’re going to run the m10 for awhile before the swap!
What oil did you use to loosen up motor? Thanks
Penetrating oil!
Bmw2002faq is the key resource.
Love them. Such great info
Don’t put a flat head in it.
The bmw m10 engine is an amazing engine!
For that flathead money there’s a bolt on supercharger kit you can buy. You’ll get 200hp and a great vintage looking engine bay.
I think I’m going to hold off on it now!!
Ditch the annoying music, ASMR is acceptable
