The fight would’ve been closer but Floyd still would’ve taken control in the second half, Shane never makes adjustments, and now that I think about it wasn’t he taking Epo before he got caught

Not that simple..if it was the real mosley..the young one..he would of been Floyd's toughest fight. Shane was way too fast. If Either of them fought prime Tommy Hearns..they get knocked out. Hearns was way too fast and hit too hard.
What he is describing, is Floyd having the ability to take him out of his element. Can't really say his body didn't move because the fight went the distance. He just got out classed and was overmatched.
Yes, body was good enough to allow him to catch Floyd with those 2 punches, but since he couldn't finish him, so he says his body portrayed him the rest of the fight, FOH Shane
You're in the same era. You were just at different weight classes. Lets not forget who ducked who. When he saw the the money, he was willing to take the beating because the risk was worth the reward. What is this guy talking about?! The bell didn't ring after you hit him. He walked you down for the last 30 seconds of the round.
Shane did not duck Mayweather…look at his career. Fans throw that word “duck” around way too casually. These are pro fighters…they aren’t afraid to fight each other…they’re built different. Shane and Floyd generally were not in the same weight class for most of their prime. Shane took a number of tough fights at 154 when Mayweather was fighting at lower weights. The ideal time for this fight to have happened was when Shane was at 135 and Floyd was at 130. However, Shane moved up two weight classes to fight an undefeated Oscar De La Hoya at 147. How can anyone say he ducked Mayweather for that fight? That was a much tougher fight at the time than fighting Mayweather AND it was a bigger draw money wise. Hard for me to understand how you say Shane ducked Mayweather when he moved to heavier weights to fight De La Hoya twice, Vernon Forest twice, and Winky Wright twice.
@@richardcollins2622 The reason people say that is because it's in response to the people who have claimed for years that Mayweather ducked Mosley. I agree with you. I don't think either guy ducked each other because they were in different weight classes.
@@richardcollins2622He literally said he couldn’t fight Floyd because of his tooth. Then he proceeded to say Floyd should fight someone else. That is ducking 101.
Shane be like : "If I didn't duck Floyd for 5yrs with the toothache excuse, I would've knocked him out in a *FANTASY* match like everyone else. Floyd can only win *REAL* fights!" LOL
Shane Mosley got beat by Forest because Forest had superior timing. Timing beats speed! Mayweather has better timing and speed than Forest. He would have beaten any version of Mosley at lightweight, welterweight and Jnr Middleweight.
I still say a prime Shane Mosley has the potential to beat Floyd Mayweather. Pure boxers gave Shane Mosley trouble. Timing was a part of it, but in regards to boxers who beat him in his prime, both Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright were pure boxers who had both a stylistic advantage, height advantage, and size advantage. It’s hard to beat a fighter with superior boxing skills and greater size because your power won’t be as effective as it would be with someone who is your size. But with Floyd Mayweather, a prime Shane Mosley is actually slightly faster, much stronger, and bigger so the only advantage Floyd would have is his skills. That may be enough, but don’t think it would be easy. I believe Shane has more than just a chance to win.
@@only1dman339 if we’re talking about Floyd Mayweather before his hand problems became evidently worse (pre 2002) he was a more offensive fighter..and had the timing and speed to hurt and knock down fighters. I don’t disagree, Mosley was an excellent fighter but he was extremely overrated. I still have my old Ring magazines including from 2000-02. The way they fell over themselves over him after his first De La Hoya win was laughable! Credit to them..after he was exposed by Forest, they wrote the “sugar” nickname should have been retired after Leonard!
This brother must be smoking his socks , he got one lucky shot the entire match and he's out here talking like a beast. Floyd rock your head the entire fight
A younger Shane could have given Mayweather problems. But someone from that era I really think would have given Floyd problems is Vernon Forrest. He had speed, power, and aggression. He had nice footwork which you need against Floyd and he threw those hard uppercuts.
@@woodike3300 No excuses. Floyd just beat him. But I just honestly believe Shane Mosley was a way more difficult fighter for Floyd to beat about 5 years earlier. The difference is Errol was considered the dominant fighter by many right up until they got in the ring. I always felt Crawford would beat him but many people felt Errol was going to destroy him. Crawford just showed them he's better than they thought. But I don't recall people feeling that Shane was going to destroy Mayweather. By the time Shane fought Floyd he was still good but to me he wasn't as consistently explosive as he was in early 00's. I know they were in different weight classes back then. But I would have loved to have seen him fight that version of Shane.
Shane clearly has a problem with Floyd, what was Shane excuse when Paquaio beat him? Nasim stopped Shane from quitting, Shane told Nasim to stop the fight against Pacquaio. Floyd was in his era, they fought. Maybe Shane is punch drunk or jealous
This is one of those could've would've should've situations. Just admit you lost to the better boxer because it will continue to go, i was too old,my weight wasn't right,I had an injury,my costume was heavy,I had diarrhea the night before,my dog ate my homework etc same excuses. Cotto,De La Hoya,Pacquiao,Canelo,Juda were are all top fighters and at the moment they were talking about destroying Floyd and how'd they'd out box him but they all got defeated. Floyd was different, his speed and stamina alone made many lose to just that.

Cuz after the 2nd round he was walking you down pretty much the rest of the fight.” You ain’t have to rub it in like that 😂 show your guests some respect lmao
Same outcome. Floyd even said it in the early 2000s when Shane was ducking him.. Shane punches too wide. He always has. Pretty boy Floyd would have picked him apart no problem
Yeah Floyd wasn't in the mix with the big dogs back then like Mosley,Delahoya,Trinidad,Ike quartay,Vernon Forrest,Mayorga...All these guys were going heads up w each other back then while Floyd was fighting little guys.
Shane definitely blew his load with his explosive output in round 2. That much ferocity and explosiveness so early in a 12-rounder is taxing on any elite prime boxer. Let alone a 38 year old Mosley. Prime Mosley still loses though, just in more competitive fashion.

Maybe. Hard to say. What I do believe is that a younger Mosley wouldn’t have gotten tired so easily like he did after the second round against Floyd. I at the very least think it’s a much better fight.
Mosley didn't Wana fight Mayweather when he was younger. Mosley made an ear excuse to not fight him. And also Mosley didn't want to get tested for fights. Also got caught using peds.
Shane beat a prime del la Hoya an whooped him way more impressively then Floyd like most of Floyd's wins he wasn't the same after he lost to forest he never was the same won some big fights but not really hes only win was against Margarito who got exposed and also never won another important fight post that .Floyd fought this dude way past his prime and way past his heart was taken from fighting like he did early on factz.💯
Mosley failed to mention that he avoided Floyd when he was young. Once at Light weight when Floyd caled him out, then years later he avoided Floyd at Welterweight. Theirs a youtube video where Mosley after a fight the interviewer asking him about a Floyd fight, and his excuse was that his tooth hurt so he can`t make the fight. Its finally when Mosley is 38 years old he finally decides to fight Floyd. If he`s so confident that a younger version of himdself would have beaten Floyd, he would have Fought Floyd when Floyd was calling him out when Mosley was younger.b The reason Mosley could knock Floyd out was because Floyd is tough, and knows how to survive when hurts and have fast recuperative abilities. And Floyd adapted to Mosley style that is why Mosley could not have any more success after the 2nd round.
Also Oscar still had his speed and power when he Fought floyd and Floyd beat Oscar way more clearer then Mosley did in his 2 fights with Oscar. Most people seem to feel Oscar deserved to win the second fight. And the first fight between Oscar and Mosley waas razor thin close. I even seen/heard a few people say they felt Ocar won the fight fight also. And Floyd would have beaten Trinidad and Ik Quartey easily. Trinidad lost very bad to highly skilled boxers. And Ike was too basic for floyd. And Floyd was in the same error but was avoided by Oscar and Mosley at one point. Trinidad was fighting at 2 high a weight class for Floyd also.
Shane thought Floyd was not going to be able to take a clean punch. He landed a flush right hand and Floyd took it and came back with his A game, and it was over. Shane is a legend, but Floyd was levels above him with Ring IQ.
🧢...Stop it....I've watched this guys whole career,,and was never overly impressed...He was a good fighter,,but no where near the level of Floyd...FACTS...Also just for the record,,Vernon Forest beat mosely in his prime at a time when mosely was undefeated,,in which was the beginning of moselys decline after he lost...in fact,,Floyd always rose to the occasion in his big fights and mosely did not,,in which means mosely is 100 percent outta pocket trying to compare himself to Floyd...

It was the 2nd round Mosley was still fresh he had the chance to get him outta there but didnt and Floyd was taking it to him by the end of the round. Floyd was calmer in the corner than his own corner!!!
Shane had a better chance at beating Floyd when Floyd called him out the first time in the early 2000s. Shane was damn near 40 coming off of a 16 month layoff when they fought. He hurt Floyd twice in that round and couldn’t finish him🤣🤣🤣 and Floyd whooped his ass from that point on

Much respect to Shane, but it sounds like it doesn't he get thats the reason why Floyd didn't fight him when he was closer to his prime in the first place. So it clearly made much sense for Shane to use that fight as a comeback, if he could have done what no one else had done. He ducked Floyd when he had more to lose than to gain. Hence why Floyd callled out him and Oscar earlier in their so call prime, Floyd said he himself was the best and those guys should not be making more money than him.

💯💯💯🎯🎯🎯

@@sagworld1806 Are you referring to the 135lb Shane that tried to weight bully the 130lbs Floyd before Shane jumped up to 147lbs?

If mayweather was younger it also would have been same outcome

Likevwhen Vernon Forest knocked him out and woke him back up with a punch.
I also believe Vernon would have beaten Floyd had they fought.
Well, all I have to say is that there are not interviewing Mayweather about Shane.
C'mon man!... you cold! How you gonna ask the man "How does it feel to have Floyd hunting you down pretty much the whole fight?"... 😂... it's true... but not nice.

Much respect to Shane, but it sounds like it doesn't he get thats the reason why Floyd didn't fight him when he was closer to his prime in the first place. Floyd knew father time had already walked Mosley down, he just took the the opportunity to add another name to his win list.
But in Shane's defense, those two shots rocked Floyd good and made it interesting to watch.
Shane could of done us all a favor and whoop Floyd's ass back when he was still at lightweight. Instead, this mf waited to he was past his prime looking for a payday.
