- In the 1st century, the Promised Land didn't seem all it was promised to be. Israel is oppressed under Roman occupation, and suffers much bondage. But on Shavuot (Pentecost), Yeshua does the unexpected: Instead of delivering His people to heaven, or setting up His reign on Earth, He brings His Kingdom into the midst of them by giving them the Holy Spirit. Yet today, many believers limit their salvation to an "escape-plan to heaven" from this world, instead of seeing salvation as about more than themselves: The salvation of the world (John 12:47)
And understandably, when our trials increase in this world, our eagerness for that escape grows all the more. But perhaps it is for a time like this, that through the Holy Spirit, our eagerness for bringing His Kingdom down should increase all the more, so that multitudes may be saved.

I also loved the part, "...because you are now born of the Spirit, if you place your faith in Christ, you are no longer held down by the worries of this world that are passing away." This too, brought perspective and perception...just what I needed!

I use the Zadok Priestly calendar. Shavu’ot was June 2nd 2024
You say Faith in Christ is born again. But we need to be born of water(baptism) and born of the Spirit. We really do need to die with Christ in order to be done with ourselves, the old man must die. Then we can be raised and filled. Born from above!
Repentance to the Father
Faith in Yeshua
Baptism into the Grave
Resurrection and infilling from the Spirit!
I’m glad for Shavuot the Ruach Hakodesh has been given to us who are gentiles and becoming one with the Messiah in union with him. “Therefore, remember your former state: you Gentiles by birth - called the Uncircumcised by those who, merely because of an operation on their flesh, are called the Circumcised - at that time had no Messiah. You were estranged from the national life of Isra’el. You were foreigners to the covenants embodying God’s promise. You were in this world without hope and without God. But now, you who were once far off have been brought near through the shedding of the Messiah’s blood. For he himself is our shalom - he has made us both one and has broken down the m’chitzah which divided us by destroying in his own body the enmity occasioned by the Torah, with its commands set forth in the form of ordinances. He did this in order to create in union with himself from the two groups a single new humanity and thus make shalom, and in order to reconcile to God both in a single body by being executed on a stake as a criminal and thus in himself killing that enmity. Also, when he came, he announced as Good News shalom to you far off and shalom to those nearby, news that through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers. On the contrary, you are fellow-citizens with God’s people and members of God’s family.”
