I feel like it's fair to point out Codsworth can be modified thanks to Automatron, so not entirely melee only, if you decide it so Also fun fact, Cait's VA is also an operator in COD 2019. As you can guess, I immediately used her the most
this is true! I don't usually like to mod Codsworth though. He's so proud of being a Mr. Handy I leave him as stock. Ha! I never knew Cait's VA showed up in COD. Does she still have the Irish accent? That would be choice.
I thought this was a very creative video. I like the editing so that it feels engaging to watch but I felt like I could just listen without missing out any information. I agree with your assessment of Preston. The quests he gives don’t really bother me either, but I can see how he can annoy people. I see how it can seem odd that he calls you the boss but tells you what to do/know, but I guess I’ve always thought about it like this: He feels the Sole Survivor is (potentially) a better leader or more charismatic. But he also knows that he knows more about the world of the Commonwealth and the expectations/duties, so he dutifully explains them to you like a good assistant.
Thank you! I wanted it to be something people could either watch or listen to in the background so I'm glad to hear it works :) That's a good way of looking at Preston. A kind of personal assistant with a laser musket lol
Top notch editing, with pertinent in-game examples, and a great score that is chosen to fit the mood of the topic being discussed. This video is Pulowski Certified.
Great video. You went to a lot of work with composing interesting to look at shots. The character specific music was a nice touch as well. Might be a place to use chapters even. A lot of my later playtime I just rolled solo, I got tired of getting blocked at doors and stuff. But I do think the companions were a good addition. Hard to top Nick as a companion for me. He was my go to guy for my first and most memorable full playthrough, Deacon was a solid support too. I tried to give X6 some time to grow on me when I did an Institute-Ending character, but yeah, no. I tried Cait and MacReady but couldn't really gel with either of them. I picked up Strong when I was a melee cannibal myself, so it worked for a while, but he got boring. A later BoS playthough had me roll with Danse --- who I loathed in my first plays, and I thought he was alright by the turn in his arc.
Thanks! Yeah, by far the biggest downside of traveling with companions is tripping over them every three seconds. What I would give for a "shove" button!
20:09 One of the more obscure secrets, is that Nick Valentine can be equipped with the Faded Trench Coat he rewards you with, and why would you want to do that? Because _his left hand becomes human again!_ And you can put Ballistic Weave on it, but the _hand!_ It looks weird at first to see him with two normal hands.
The institute is badly written but not because they are cartoonist evil. They are just the typical scientist who see the world as data since they look down on them, which does have their own sound logic. But it's just that, they are stuck up scientist, bad scientist even, nothing else. They have a chance to explore the institute further by having classing theory, risk assessment, from the ethnic standpoint since they have a hand on example of science going too far that is the wasteland itself. Or the nature of consciousness that is the synth, which is the conflict between the railroad. Like they could reduce the synth intelligence until it stop being a freedom craving entity and turn back to a tool. Etc...
IDK man, I think a society of scientists who are terrible at science is kinda cartoonish, but I get what you're saying. I'd love to see a re-do of the Institute that gives them a bit more direction and explains some of their weirder choices (like, why do they keep making Super Mutants decades after realizing it's a dead end?)
@@ancy1205 nope, in fact it's the opposite. Virgil the lead scientist on the Super Mutant project destroys the lab in an act of protest after having been stuck doing the work for years with nothing but green monsters to show for it!
@@UnkieNic True. My memory must have failed me. Still the institute is the one that have the most potential in writing. Yet it's equally badly written as other faction.

Codsworth can wear a bowler hat, so I think that makes it clear how integral to the enjoyment of Fallout 4 he actually is.
crap, I forgot about that, now I gotta edit the whole dang thing and bump him up a notch or two... :p
Found this outta nowhere. Pretty good.
