I got the less expensive blade holder with mine. There's no channel for the slide switch; only a screw hole. This wouldn't be too much of a prob except that the kit doesn't come with the faux rivet screw. I finally got that effin eclip to hold the slide switch in place, so I'm in no rush to remove it and use a screw instead. I think that I'll fire up the dremel and "mill" out a channel so that the slide switch can still function.
Thanks for doing this video! I would never have been able to get the clip and slide switch mechanism together without it. Good stuff!
Great analysis and manual man. I just received my 89sabers E4/5 Graflex. I'll definitely re-watch this once I'm ready to assemble it.
I Love how TGS listened to (US fanatic's and OCD people) and took the time to really get every detail correct. A few minor things left but not bad for a first batch.
Yes all of the delays were well worth it because the finished product is truly awesome.

Great analysis and review of this fine piece. You mentioned in the video if desired, the finish can be slightly shined with some polish. Conversely, if I’m looking to dull the finish on a piece that is a bit too shiny for my liking, what would be the best way to accomplish a duller finish to match what is shown here in your video? I know you said Scotchbrite for a small area like the clamp but for the entire flashgun body would that create uneven and crooked lines?

From what I was told, TGS was planning on continuing to make them as long as their is demand for them, so hopefully they will.
That's what they have said, we'll have to wait and see if the demand is there.

What about medium dueling? The dulelists are not trying to hit the opponent, for just a convincing dueling show, will the tgs endure that?

Would you say the proportions are the same as a vintage? I want to put a wannawanga clamp cover on it but it doesn’t fit a romans. I’m looking for one that’s as close to a vintage as possible.
How does the clamp sidebars match up to a vintage? I noticed on mine that the ends are folded over, but all of the pictures of vintage ones I've seen the ends are folded over, but the folded ends aren't as wide and it sits between sides of the bar.

From an accuracy standpoint and ease of installation I have to go with TGS all the way. It's more accurate than a Romans and the little details like the slide switch assembly make it so easy to assemble and install.

Hey I’m looking to build a more screen accurate grafted than my 2.0. Trying to decide between the 89 sabers kit and the TGF hilt kit. Any suggestions?
I think they're both very screen accurate. The 89 sabers is probably a lot easier to install, and a little cheaper to install, but I think this one is maybe in terms of outer shell, a little more screen accurate. Also the grips on the 89 are rubber (which makes logical sense), and are no bueno, as they're gonna wear a lot. I imagine I haven't really answered your question, but if you're money conscious, probably 89 for install, this one for screen accuracy shelf queen (not by much tho), but, honestly, there are many things you can do to make your 2.0 more screen accurate. Check out KR's accuracy mods if you haven't already, and it'll look pretty accurate.

@@markippolito2 The Gen2 from TGS is the most accurate replica flash available. It can be a great static piece using their accurate bulb socket or you can put a blade holder in it to install as an FX build. But either way, if you want accuracy TGS is the way to go. And they still have a few of the pre-built screen accurate hilts left that I built for them to 100% screen accuracy. So if you don't want to build it yourself and want it as accurate as you can get, check those out.

Michael J. Landon It would either be this or a Roman Props replica. Both have made a lot of improvements since their initial release and are pretty damn accurate. The newest version of the TGS is slated for a release sometime next month and is poised to be the best one yet. But time will tell.

Who's blade holder are you using? I'm hoping to use a KR sabers holder.
As stated in the video I'm using the Solo's Hold 7/8" holder. The KR 1" will also work, just be sure you don't buy the one specifically designed for the Romans.

Your beer tab screw doesn't have the cool machining look like other vintages do, are you sure it is 100% vintage or some other version i'm not familiar with?
It's 100% vintage. There are slight variances through the years as production changed.
East Coast Sabers All right just making sure. I did a lot of research before buying my vintage and that was one thing I made sure mine had because all the versions I have seen had that.

Been waiting since September for mine. They push the date back farther and farther each time they make a post on Facebook. I can hardly find reviews of these and can’t do much research on the company. Hopefully myself along with hundreds of others weren’t just scammed out of 250-300 bucks
Absolutely not. TGS is a very reputable company when it comes to their delivered product. They do have a reputation of delays but it is ALWAYS worth it in the end. Any delay they opt for is for the benefit of the overall product. Their first run had a lot of delays too but the finished product was amazing. They took the feedback they received and have since improved a lot of small details for the upcoming Gen2. I assure you, it may take longer than you'd like but you will receive your Graflex. If you are new to the custom saber hobby you will quickly learn that patience is an absolute necessity as waiting is a big part of the game. The replica that TCSS sells is just a Roman Props replica.
It's a Roman's on TCSS, I have one and it has the Roman's Props stamp on the hilt.
I do a lot of video editing and I feel like the problem with this video is your editing. It’s an hour and fifteen minutes which isn’t unheard of for something like this, but there are COUNTLESS moments where you are trying to do things and grabbing flashlights and apologizeing for having a very slight cough, and you eventually do get the right shots, but those minutes spent on trying to get to what you want or to get the perfect shot make this video unfun to watch. I would say take your time to get the shots you need, don’t apologize as often, and edit everything that isn’t essential and it would make for the prefect video and would probably only be about an hour long instead. (Also please don’t take this as me being hateful, I’m nosy trying to tell you what I think would make this video more engaging, because you know so much about this prop and how it works, and I want you to show it off in as engaging a way as possible. Thanks for the video!)

I wouldn't duel with either an intricate crystal chamber or a vintage style Graflex. The design of the Graflex makes it very weak in the middle where the two halves are held by the clamp. If you want to duel get a 2.0
