Rosa das Rosas medieval show - it’s a project from «Kings & Beggars» (Lviv) and historical dance theatres «Joyssance» (Kyiv) and Beltaine (Lviv). It’s a theatrical show with dances accompanied with songs in galician-portuguese from XIII ct. codex «Cantigas de Santa Maria». For this show new costumes has been created, depicting unique fashion of Alfonso X El Sabio court. Castilian court was known as a science and art center from Pyrenees to the Alps. Musicians, dancers and singers drove to the court of Alfonso the Wise, and not only Christians but also people of other believes. We want to show this educated multicultural society of those old times. We will show you some religious and secular dances, some of cantigas will came to life in faces and colors, we will play some active and board games - as Alfonso the Wise was known not only for his "Book of Cantigas", but also for "Book of Games". Where would be a lot of contrasts as it was in Middle Ages - with all those carnivals and fasting’s, courteous tournaments and unsophisticated rural fun.
