Totally agree with your assessment of LAS and the comparison against US airports in general. It’s definitely the best of the (admittedly few) I’ve experienced over the years.
Your Star Alliance Gold status does not get you in to the United Club lounges on domestic flights. Can you explain how you got access? Chase credit card, perhaps? Also, you went to a lot of trouble to get to the lounge in anticipation of a 40 minute flight. Did you do that just for the filming?
Well they let me in with no questions asked, so I must have done something right. And yes, I usually arrive at the airport several hours before departure, so I can enjoy the lounge. Even when I'm not filming.
Well.. US first class is a non-event... while sometimes one can score a Polaris flatbed on a 6h domestic flight. But at the end, nothing like "first class". Funny enough when Americans come to Europe and they see EU business class, that is mainly eco with blocked middle seat, they are shocked. Maybe time to rename things... Was thinking about you the other day, just flew to and back from Tokyo again. Was fun meeting you on that Swiss flight.
Yeah it’s our usual United First joke. United actually had a less minimum mile requirement last year for first class meals and beat Delta’s cutoff. Unfortunately Scott Kirby is on the play down to the competition train like all the other CEOs. Thankfully though United hub lounges are getting revamped and are quite nice. More worth it to get a decent meal beforehand than spend extra miles or a couple hundred dollars on a few extra inches of seat. (Unless a passenger needs that extra space of course). I’m a bit smaller than most so a free economy plus is worth it versus overspending.
Thanks for watching, and adding those additional details! I didn't know this was a new CEO initiative. It was many years since I flew United First before this one.
I don't require it. But since I saw it on another 40-min flight, I thought it was relevant. And indeed, it was a cold breakfast tray on that Emirates flight.

I'm already looking forward to going back to this great airport!
Uniteds Polaris or Premium Plus is 100% worth it
Yes, I think I would love Polaris!

Yes, great fun indeed! I miss Japan!

Awesome video though and I appreciate it! :)

Why would you want a full rushed meal on a 40 minute flight. The food probably wouldn't even be hot. I feel like that's an unfair criticism.

Oh no. The only US domestic first class that is worth the money is JetBlue's Mint!
I think you're right!
Well, if you only can afford the cost... Jet Blue Mint is also way more expensive
