I still don't get why people say the OVA has bad voice acting. Yes DIO's voice isn't the best fit considering he's an old dude voicing a character with the body of a 20 year old, but that doesn't make it bad acting. I'm convinced that most people who say the voice acting sucks is because not every voice actor is screaming their lines like in the modern anime.
I like that at 1:10, shows how stands fights are to a non-stand user's perspective which is basically a psychic showdown. It would've been cool to see that in the tv anime version.
Probably because they decide to skip the small details, focus on only the big impacts, cut to the chase of fights despite that a slow build up and good pace can make a bigger impact. They want to speedrun to the enemys death rather than enjoy the vibes of a tense battle.
Mainly because most internationally well known anime from this time period are OVAs or movies, which typically have more time and money to spend on animation than TV shows that are more well known today
I think the reason is that in Jojo's there are almost no hand-to-hand fights, no one risks attacking without thinking or throwing themselves into danger, instead they spend their time analyzing each other, they make an attack and both sides watch everything closely to see what happens. find a way to get an advantage or gain that in a certain way, instead here you can see attacks like this 00:05 00:25 00:35 00:39 01:36 following in Jojo's prolong death even though is secure but here you feel that at any moment anyone can die
Nobody's talking about how cool 1:34 is. I love how they interpreted the affects of the punching force while The World is active. The punches actually nudged Jotaro (and realistically at that), and it was really well-animated. It's a nice touch that I dont think(?) is in the 2014 anime
Exactly. It feels way more powerful because of that. Especially when you notice the "dents" it makes in jotaro. A strong punch is all about the impact, so if there's no impact (like in the other version) it feels weaker.
