I once made a chocolate icecream for a party. And a friend of mine stated, that it was the best chocolate icecream she ever had. It goes like this: you will need 225g of dark chocolate, 100g sugar, 2 eggs + 2 yolks,750ml of whole milk (3,5 to 3,8% fat), 1 loaded tsp of instant coffee powder, 2 tbsp of orange liquor (Cointreau or Grand Marnier). My personal trick: I substitute 50g of the dark chocolate with swedish "Marabou" or US "Godiva" milk chocolate. I also do that, when making mousse au chocolat.) Whisk eggs, yolks and half of the sugar over a hot waterbath until creamy. Warm up the milk and dissolve the other half of the sugar in it. Dissolve the coffee and melt the chocolate in the milk. Change the waterbath to a one with ice cubes and whisk the hot milk into it to cool it down. To be filled into an ice cream machine to be cooled until really thick. Add the liquor during the last few minutes. Well: 25 years ago, I didn't have an icecream machine. I did put it in the freezer and stirred about every half an hour. Sweet greetings fom the far north of Germany!

The youtiao look remarkably like churros, a Mexican "doughnut" we have here in California cuz of so much Hispanic population/heritage.
They're usually served sprinkled either with powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar, and sometimes filled with things like dulce de leche or chocolate. Made from batter extruded through a star shaped hole into a vat of hot oil. The batter is moved into parallel lines with sticks and cut at the ends while it cooks, so the churros come out as sticks with a bend at the end.
Here in California, they're not just part of Hispanic food culture. They're at all the county fairs, just like corn dogs and deep fried Mars bars.

I'm boring and prefer to go for plain light fruit like mangos, oranges, jackfruit and stuff like that after a meal. But I do like a mango pudding or almond jelly as well.
