Mizzou fam/alum here. I was so impressed by your Gators tonight. They showed so much character and they punched the Tigers back where a lot of teams have folded - see last weeks Tennessee game for example. Your players and coaches showed a lot to class, even in a disappointing loss. You came to Columbia and had us on the ropes on national TV. One or two lucky breaks that go the other way and the Gators very easily come out victorious. You should be proud of your program. I think you guys will be very scary in the coming years.
I wish you guys had shown the same class. Great team but was confused by their actions at the games end. Maybe there’s more to it but to run to your opponents bench after a game and do their know celebration instead of attempting to shake hands was quite embarrassing to watch. Usually things like that are a reflection of the head coach.
I hope Mertz returns next year to allow Lagway time to get his feet underneath him. Plus Mertz is projected to go in the 7th round. He needs to return and have a Heisman run to boost his chances for 1-3 round.

This has been a bad year for us Gators, not where alot of us thought we'd be nearing the end of the season! I will say as tough as it has been losing so many games this season, I have to give much respect to all the players who continued to play with heart game in and game out!! We fans have been very critical of coach Napier ( myself included ), I can only hope and pray that things will be waaaaay better next year and down the road!! If this Gator team can come back next year and play with better experience, and the same heart they've played in all these games, God help anyone who has to play us!! Go Gators!!
Napier blew another game with horrible clock management. One more first down and we would have killed the clock when Miissouri got the ball back after our go ahead field goal. Instead, as soon as we got close enough for Smack, he went conservative and settled for a one point lead with 1:40 left in the game. The D almost saved him but allowed the 4th and 17 pass which ended the game. This loss is on Napier's head. The effort deserved better.

We lost to the 9th rank team by 2 points when they were favored by 12.5 and we had 3rd stringers!! One heck of a game! I wouldn’t blame Billy. Etienne needed to stay in- bounds on that last run. I don’t know what he was thinking running out of bounds. Missouri would have had to use their last timeout, which would have increased UF’s likelihood of winning at 99%.
I feel bad and have respect for Mertz. Yeah I didn’t like him at the beginning, but every game he grinded his ass off. I hope he recovers fast and he can be proud to that he played for Florida.

2 yrs is patience. We had the best player in the country on our team last year. Lost Vandy, UT, GA, fla state, Kentucky and South Carolina last year. KY again this yr and they suck. GA blew us out. Lost to 2-6 Arkansas. We are ass. One of the worst fla teams in a while. Fired Mullin to early. Don't know what happened behind the scenes. Bill can recruit but can't coach to save his life. Fla is supposed to be a top 5 in the country. Billy is not a top 5 coach. Time to move on and get a real legit coach.
Zero progress has been made. If anything they’ve regressed at multiple positions. It’s been 2 years and we have a historically bad defense. But yea gator fans expect way too much lol What’s our record the last 2 years? Gtfo with the impossible to please bs. We run 3 times after zone read gets us to the red zone then we just don’t run it again. Or we play soft zone when cover 2 got us to the 4th down and long and go away from it. This was the best game florida has played this year! Fought hard through adversity in a tough environment against a very good football team that should have beaten ga, they played lights out and if not for a few costly mistakes, they win this game!
I think Tennessee was the best game y'all played this yr. But y'all definitely tried to win this game which says a lot being on a losing steak and coming off such an ugly loss to LSU. And to even be in the game with a back up QB. There's promise still. Beating us would do wonders for Billy right now. Losing to us right now though puts an exclamation on the season's failure, and next yr the schedule gets even tougher.

the schedule is brutal though, so even with improvement florida will be lucky to go 6-6 and Napier may still be on the chopping block. "just wait till next year" works, but "wait till 2025" is pushing it for a lot of fans.

If the recruiting class holds ... we will lose some and gain some ... those kids will be filling gaps and get playing exp. We should be much better next year but to consistently make the top 12 for the playoffs is still a few years away.

The defense is the glaring issue right now. Youth & injuries are one thing. Defense looks unprepared, tackling, wrapping up & effort have been a season long issue & that reflects coaching
Florida played hard the entire 60 minutes and it took every second for Missouri to beat them. When mertz made that play watch the sideline. Plays like that inspire teams. That's one of the things that made Tebow so great. Mertz showed out the 15 jersey. That game was awesome last night I don't even care that we lost because I know the wins are coming now. Max brown isn't getting talked enough either. He fumbled the ball in the red zone so how does he respond to that ? He leads them to 2 straight scoring drives to take the lead on the road against a top 10 team.
There were some really good plays from guys I hadn’t heard much about until last night. It’s frustrating as a fan to see mistakes that lose games but they are young and still learning. And they are playing hard and getting better. Next year they will be older and more experienced and frankly bigger. Napier is a good football coach and I think he’s moving the team in a good direction.
I’m honestly getting tired of the “Awe shucks” routine from Billy after every single game. We clearly arnt “learning” anything from these games, or else we wouldn’t keep losing them in the SAME FUCKING WAY for 2 years now! Bad clock management, bad late game play calling, and horrible horrible defense. It’s been the reason we’ve lost every single game for 2 years in a row. I’d honestly enjoy watching us lose do to a shoe throw again, because at least it means we didn’t lose due to horrible defense and coaching ineptitude!

Like I told the Miami fans, you can't end the season on a losing streak and expect people to think you're progressing. You have to find a way to win the close games. You have more talent on your team than most the teams on your schedule, you should not have a losing record in yr 2 barring extreme circumstances, you should not have extended losing streaks at the end of the season. Pointing to closely contested losses against teams you should beat based on talent level doesn't show progress, it just shows that you're not fulfilling your potential. You can't blame other fans for being unhappy. You have Oklahoma and Texas joining the conference next yr and somehow you still have to win more games and 1 extra victory next season is not gonna be enough even though every thinks you will do worse. When we were down in their end after the long run by our 2nd string QB, I said we need to go for the TD because I didn't want it coming down to the foot of the Missouri kicker. When we played for a field goal and a 1 point lead, I predicted we would lose on a field goal by Missouri's kicker. To think that our defense could keep them from getting into field goal range is just pathetic. The kid posing as a D coordinator, needs to be let go tonight.
I have been a Gator since 1988. The biggest thing that shoots us in the foot over the years is trying to run a play up the middle. That works once in a hundred plays. I am so sick of seeing that fail. Still proud of my Gators. And, yes, Billy has no clock management. Ugh!

2 yrs is patience. We had the best player in the country on our team last year. Lost Vandy, UT, GA, fla state, Kentucky and South Carolina last year. KY again this yr and they suck. GA blew us out. Lost to 2-6 Arkansas. We are ass. One of the worst fla teams in a while. Fired Mullin to early. Don't know what happened behind the scenes. Bill can recruit but can't coach to save his life. Fla is supposed to be a top 5 in the country. Billy is not a top 5 coach. Time to move on and get a real legit coach.

We run 3 times after zone read gets us to the red zone then we just don’t run it again.
Or we play soft zone when cover 2 got us to the 4th down and long and go away from it.

Everyone knows with everything that went on during that game, that 4th and 17 killed us. Regardless of everything that happened in the game. That 4th and 17 was the biggest let down of the year for me. I still love my Gators though. GO GATORS!!!!!

This was the best game florida has played this year! Fought hard through adversity in a tough environment against a very good football team that should have beaten ga, they played lights out and if not for a few costly mistakes, they win this game!
I think Tennessee was the best game y'all played this yr. But y'all definitely tried to win this game which says a lot being on a losing steak and coming off such an ugly loss to LSU. And to even be in the game with a back up QB. There's promise still. Beating us would do wonders for Billy right now. Losing to us right now though puts an exclamation on the season's failure, and next yr the schedule gets even tougher.
@@antonyrogers265 tenn was certainly a great game for the gators , Florida seems to be the albatross for tenn, could be one reason why they have steadily gone down ever since that loss, but given the environment and level of competion ,I have to still say this was their best ,of course a real test will be next week against the noles, it's sad they lost their quarterback to such a bad injury it would have been a better game with him there!
I agree with Napier and will say what he won't ... for the Mertz haters at the start of the year who said he would drag the Gators down and was a bad pick can kiss his ass. If Mertz stays next year we will be in good shape.
the schedule is brutal though, so even with improvement florida will be lucky to go 6-6 and Napier may still be on the chopping block. "just wait till next year" works, but "wait till 2025" is pushing it for a lot of fans.
@@acct5910 A lot of these freshman will be older, bigger and stronger, esp on defense. If the recruiting class holds ... we will lose some and gain some ... those kids will be filling gaps and get playing exp. We should be much better next year but to consistently make the top 12 for the playoffs is still a few years away.

That was where we lost. Not ETN going out of bounds, not giving up the 4th down conversion. It was scared money playing for fg rather than going for the knockout. It's a mindset and he showed a complete lack of confidence but also leadership with the play calls
The defense is the glaring issue right now. Youth & injuries are one thing. Defense looks unprepared, tackling, wrapping up & effort have been a season long issue & that reflects coaching

Florida played hard the entire 60 minutes and it took every second for Missouri to beat them. When mertz made that play watch the sideline. Plays like that inspire teams. That's one of the things that made Tebow so great. Mertz showed out the 15 jersey. That game was awesome last night I don't even care that we lost because I know the wins are coming now. Max brown isn't getting talked enough either. He fumbled the ball in the red zone so how does he respond to that ? He leads them to 2 straight scoring drives to take the lead on the road against a top 10 team.

There were some really good plays from guys I hadn’t heard much about until last night. It’s frustrating as a fan to see mistakes that lose games but they are young and still learning. And they are playing hard and getting better. Next year they will be older and more experienced and frankly bigger. Napier is a good football coach and I think he’s moving the team in a good direction.
I’m honestly getting tired of the “Awe shucks” routine from Billy after every single game. We clearly arnt “learning” anything from these games, or else we wouldn’t keep losing them in the SAME FUCKING WAY for 2 years now! Bad clock management, bad late game play calling, and horrible horrible defense. It’s been the reason we’ve lost every single game for 2 years in a row. I’d honestly enjoy watching us lose do to a shoe throw again, because at least it means we didn’t lose due to horrible defense and coaching ineptitude!

First off he’s being disingenuous! I’m pretty sure this isn’t the first time these guys playing football and it’s not your first time coaching. The development isn’t where it should be. Overall the game was decent it’s some things Napier could’ve did on offense to ramp it up and the defense kept giving the game away. Where’s the progression? I’m tired of the philosophy shit he gives instead of winning the games that’s in your hands. He’s the leader so Napier needs to lead. The players and coaches answer to you. Its not going to get easier either by the look of the schedule so he need to figure this shit out
Hire an OC, fire defense line coach linebacker coach, defensive back coach but let’s keep it real. It’s not gonna happen.

Like I told the Miami fans, you can't end the season on a losing streak and expect people to think you're progressing. You have to find a way to win the close games. You have more talent on your team than most the teams on your schedule, you should not have a losing record in yr 2 barring extreme circumstances, you should not have extended losing streaks at the end of the season. Pointing to closely contested losses against teams you should beat based on talent level doesn't show progress, it just shows that you're not fulfilling your potential. You can't blame other fans for being unhappy. You have Oklahoma and Texas joining the conference next yr and somehow you still have to win more games and 1 extra victory next season is not gonna be enough even though every thinks you will do worse. Its a tough position to be in
We don't have more talent than other teams on our schedule. We have some players but not much depth and experience

If you had told me before the game we'd only lose by 2 id be happy but the way we lost that game is inexcusable coaching. We are never doing to develop under this coaching staff and Billy will be gone in 2 years. We are 2 stupid coaching decisions from being 7-4 and now we are having back to bad losing seasons for the first time since the 40's

When we were down in their end after the long run by our 2nd string QB, I said we need to go for the TD because I didn't want it coming down to the foot of the Missouri kicker. When we played for a field goal and a 1 point lead, I predicted we would lose on a field goal by Missouri's kicker. To think that our defense could keep them from getting into field goal range is just pathetic. The kid posing as a D coordinator, needs to be let go tonight.
I have been a Gator since 1988. The biggest thing that shoots us in the foot over the years is trying to run a play up the middle. That works once in a hundred plays. I am so sick of seeing that fail. Still proud of my Gators. And, yes, Billy has no clock management. Ugh!
