This prophecy is also well stated in the book "Vision of sinoda(shinoda)", an Egyptian father that saw a vision of all this. Before the Islamic invasion of Egypt, a martyr named Fiktor had also spoken of this prophecy when christians in Egypt were heartbroken when they heard the prophecy that all churches in that area would be destroyed by an invading religion. he spoke of the emperor's prophecy to condole them about what is to come after the islamic invasion, he told them the emperor would himself step on that land and restore christianity as never before. But I want to stress that this is not a prophecy about the end of the world. But rather one of the prophecies that happen before comming of Jessus. such as the brief period of peace of thousand years stated in rev:19 (I believe its most related to this one), the rise of the anti christ, war of gog magog,... I believe it is in sequence with them, though I don't know where it could be.
This was well written and explained, thank you for sharing. I have heard of the lists of books you mentioned that recited this same prophecy. The Islam one took be by surprise. This is indeed an interesting topic. Do you believe the emergence of this Emperor is near?
@@yohannes6434 Yeah, there are numerous other books that talk about this. But about the time of the happening, I don't think there can be any clear timeline for that (only God knows). And it's for that reason that this is kept silent in the Ethiopian church, and the church wants to suppress any discussion on this. Since attempts are seen to exploit this, and many misleading things have been said about the time. Though I can only be sure that I can't ever be sure about the time, many fathers have implied the current war has a significant meaning in the timeline. In fact, almost everyone in Ethiopia has been hearing about a coming war, hunger, and pandemic since 30 years ago, and especially since 5 years ago. Some fathers had also called for storage pest resistant crops and salt to be stored at the monasteries. And the pandemic hit first which no one had any expectation of, then the war, and hunger is starting through all this. Though there has been war in every generation in Ethiopia, This one has been the deadliest in the entire Ethiopian history. This is because of the ethnic color of the war which has made it a matter of every citizen forcing everyone to be is a fighter and a target. And believe me, since I am there, there is no near end to it, this is just a fragment of what is yet to come. There is no reconcilable cause or negotiable term, since It's all ethnic and even more other ethnic clashes are rising. With the hundreds of millions killed until now, Sadly facts state that it's only the beginning. All this seems to match to the war described in the prophecies with all its looks. And many fathers that have never met betfore, including Aba ze wengel have said there will be a renaissance of Ethiopia spiritually and as a God's strong kingdom after this. I personally believe this is the case and have been preparing with redemption and prayers since they began to speak. I don't dare say I am (or even can be) sure about the time, but am ready to accept anything that God brings, while making preparation with repentance and prayers as our fathers have been crying to do so.

As a fellow Coptic believer, I remember reading this "vision of Shenoute" many years ago, and the significant role of the Ethiopian nation in it. I dont remember much from it, but that it was spectacular and mysterious. Today, I imagine if I looked up St. Shenouda's prophecy, I will be able to find it again, but I am glad to hear that Ethiopians are well aware of this as well.
I learned a lot from this beautiful conversation. Please continue with part 2. Keep up the amazing Ethiopian Orthodox talks. I'd love to hear a conversation on the Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees. Thanks again!
It’s absolutely true what he’s explaining. It’s very interesting it’s also true I can witness in my own family DNA shows over 50% Jewish heritage. That’s also true and middle eastern heritage. I think that’s why Ethiopian are Semite. Very interesting history of Ethiopian and Ethiopia. I hope the old culture will survive there’s a lots of influence and threats from outsiders.
10:00 this hapax legomenon idea is fantastic. It's the ultimate sacrifice, just throwing the thing out into the air. Though I hear they do sometimes write them down. Of course, Jesus didn't write anything down, afaik. Except that one time, in the dirt, and nobody wrote THAT down, for some reason.
I like to add that the chanting and melody inside of the church partitions (priests standing on different levels of the church) by the minor priests and the continuous exchange of poetry like scripture recitation of glorifying the names and doings of God, including the use of the incenses and the cistra has its origin in the interior of ancient Israelite temple by the levites.
Absolutely beautiful. Deacon Henok (great to meet you!) brings gentle, deep, sacred, learned realness, PLUS Pageau's deeply iconic nomadicism;) (i see 3 meanings!) is priceless. Hey, new topic idea: Russian Manly Orthodox Revival info is new!, how does it combine with Ethiopian Revival? What can we expect? And do we all now understand why the DS is so obsessed with destroying Russia?!
WOW!!! This was such a GREAT interview. It was very interesting, inspiring, instructive, and illuminating. I'm very interested in learning more about Ethiopian Orthodox spirituality . Maybe have Deacon Henok Elias or Deacon Dawit Muluneh (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church) on your program to discuss Ethiopian Orthodox view on Scriptures, Atonement/ The Cross, Theology, Hell, Confession, Spiritual Formation / Discipleship, and available English Resources written by Ethiopian Orthodox?? (9/17/22)
I have been digging into bible translations and trying to learn about the different text families. Read tonight the a text of the septuagint was translated into Coptic in about 200 AD, making that the oldest copy available, as far as I can tell. Occurred to me that the Ethiopian scriptures might be the oldest we have, yet nobody is talking about that. It's all about the Greek, the Latin. etc., and none are as old as 200 AD, not complete copies anyway. I am intrigued and wanting to get my hands on a copy of the ethiopian bible. Coptic and Ethiopian churches may be different. I have much to learn.
The one thing that we have as prepared and once delivered is the sermon. Not nearly as stylized of course... The Serbians have family saints and village saints We have the 40 day fast before Nativity, the Mary holiday, the connected Nativity and Theophany feasts, the one day fast before Theophany, etc... These are ancient traditions common to all of us
Fantastic Conversation...looking up Issac the Syrian. Link to the book you mentioned? Edit: Crikey! I watch this video and then Ethiopia literally comes apart at the seams. Trying to understand what is going on there...perhaps get you Dn. Henok Elias back on to talk about it would help. I don't trust the corporate media one iota.
This makes the Lion of Judah ring I got from my grandparents (a gift to my grandfather as a wedding present) even more impressive... I didn't realize that the monarchy was that old. I need to know more now... My grandma is from Asmara, so what is now Eritrea, and that lineage is Tigrinya. I think what's also funny is that I always felt like I was an oddball and like my mom is also an oddball, but I think the more I learn about Eritrea and Ethiopia, the more a lot of my stuff makes sense, particularly the philosophical meshing of art, science and philosophy, and really having this tendency to not see these things at ends with each other even from a very early age. I think my grandma described Ethiopians as such. I've been fascinated by learning more about the Ethiopian and Eritrean Orthodox churches in part because there are traditions that stretch back so far from another branch of Christianity, like it's an incredibly important aspect of it. My great grandma was in the Eritrean Orthodox church if I recall correctly. My grandma is Catholic (Italian, from that colonization). My dad used to be Lutheran, his parents still are, so I've got a pretty wide swath of Christianity in my background, though I'm pretty well disconnected from the Eritrean Orthodox and I was baptized in the Catholic church. I think the way you describe the relationship with priests kind of makes the way my grandma is with Christianity makes more sense. She always knows the priests as friends, rather than just attending Church! Hah. Even so... I really wish I was more connected with this part of my lineage. My grandmother kind of cut off a lot of that stuff, did stuff like straighten my mom's hair at an early age, stuff like that.
This was amazing! May Christ our Lord bless Ethiopia and preserve His people. I would like to know what is the rationale behind the ark being in Ethiopia after having been accidentally smuggled in by the son of Solomon, as the writings of the prophets make clear that the ark in Jerusalem really had the divine presence (therefore not being a fake) which left soon before the Babylonians destroyed the kingdom of Judah. Plus, for the rest of the Orthodox world, per 2 Maccabees, Jeremiah hid the ark from the Babylonians. Also, I would like to know more about some major Ethiopian texts that are part of the broader canon (like the Ethiopian Clementine epistles) or are extra-canonical (like the Book of the Rooster).
they play no unique role outside of ancient practice of deaconesses for baptismal aid. throughout the ages a small minority of women have become senior students and professors of the trad schools of poetry, scripture, and liturgy. today, there maybe 20 or less such professors.
I am curious whether the tradition and practice of liturgical poetry relate historically to the development of the Kontakia, as chanted sermons, in our Byzantine tradition. In the Ethiopian tradition, this practice seems to have been retained.
I am from Ethiopia, u don't know how deep is, our orthodox tewhdo religion, u will amazed.

@@merebhayl5826 I actually come to know this prophecy about two years ago. Especially when word got around that Aba Ze wengel passed away.
I found this summarized post on the prophecy recently. Let me know what your thought is on this.

This prophecy has been circulating the past few years on social media, This was why I asked you about if the arrival of the said king is near per your resources. Plus this are very scary if all the said prophecies are to come true in the order it is written. I am 18 years old, entering adulthood, and I don't want to think of this as the future because this is pure apocalypse even though there might be a good ending, It is very troubling especially if my heart is not where God wants me to be. Lord Jesus have Mercy on us! Holy Mother of God, intercede for us!
Sounds cool
As a fellow Coptic believer, I remember reading this "vision of Shenoute" many years ago, and the significant role of the Ethiopian nation in it. I dont remember much from it, but that it was spectacular and mysterious. Today, I imagine if I looked up St. Shenouda's prophecy, I will be able to find it again, but I am glad to hear that Ethiopians are well aware of this as well.
Wow please please do a part 2 or this conversation. Amazing.
Thanks for doing this.
You should invite someone from Georgian Orthodox Church
Georgia is one of the most interesting and rad countries!!! I'm sure an episode on Queen Tamar would be interesting.
Guys u forgot saint George and the Adwa Story😉
And so true abt us Ethiopian's loving anyone that says something nice abt us😁
This Ethiopia series is just totally amazing and exciting. I love your guests. I have always been faxinated with this.
Fantastic interview!
I learned a lot from this beautiful conversation. Please continue with part 2. Keep up the amazing Ethiopian Orthodox talks. I'd love to hear a conversation on the Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees. Thanks again!
here you go ua-cam.com/video/IN4YbcF1QWE/v-deo.html
Another good one Jonathan!! 👍
Thanks
I've been waiting for this. Loved the conversation. Hopefully, more parts will follow. God bless you both.
amen
So far the most beautiful intro ever.
Thank you very much! I learned a lot from the interview about my beloved church ❤❤❤
Fascinating conversation ❤
This is amazing!!!
Very interesting informative conversation. Our orthodox faith has a variety of traditions.
So I thought drama during worship was just an evangelical thing. Liturgical plays? Love it!
Lovely conversation, would love to hear more of Dn. Henok Elias!

@@PhilosophyofArtandScience thanks Dn. Henok :)
Part 2 !!!! Ethiopia is fascinating
Very interesting
its not easy to simply understand the Ethiopian orthodox church/ its one of the very first original christians
Excellent, Looking forward to parts 2, 3 and...
God bless Ethiopia. I did not know that you guys were under US opression as well, but Im glad you are becoming free.
I love this. Keep going!
Yes for part 2!!!! This is amazing.
This was so fascinating, thank you both for your time! I would love to see a part 2 of this conversation!
here ua-cam.com/video/IN4YbcF1QWE/v-deo.html
I just seen a bunch of Ethiopians standing up to soldiers to protect the church that holds the arc glad it’s still there.
Deacon I’d very knowledgeable
This is so cool. My concept of the body of Christ just got bigger.
Would love a part 2 with Dn Henok. Maybe with Rohlin next time!
I require more
ask and ye shall receive ua-cam.com/video/IN4YbcF1QWE/v-deo.html
Part two please! And I’m sure you could do a part three and a part four! Would love to hear more about the Canon.
part deux ua-cam.com/video/IN4YbcF1QWE/v-deo.html
I have been digging into bible translations and trying to learn about the different text families. Read tonight the a text of the septuagint was translated into Coptic in about 200 AD, making that the oldest copy available, as far as I can tell. Occurred to me that the Ethiopian scriptures might be the oldest we have, yet nobody is talking about that. It's all about the Greek, the Latin. etc., and none are as old as 200 AD, not complete copies anyway. I am intrigued and wanting to get my hands on a copy of the ethiopian bible. Coptic and Ethiopian churches may be different. I have much to learn.
But for the ‘Grace of God Go I’ Is my favourite quote. Even before my journey towards Christ.
The one thing that we have as prepared and once delivered is the sermon. Not nearly as stylized of course...
The Serbians have family saints and village saints
We have the 40 day fast before Nativity, the Mary holiday, the connected Nativity and Theophany feasts, the one day fast before Theophany, etc... These are ancient traditions common to all of us
ask him about the four schools and how they learn and master it plus how the monks llive(their food shelter)
Simply loved this. I echo the other comments- part two would be wonderful!
Enlightened talk!
I am Jamaican and I have been spreading Enoch gospel everywhere I go
please continue with a part 2 big fan of both channels
More Please!
You Mad The Emperor Our IGZIHABIR Not Liking That when He Returns what will we Do
This is the shortest one hour ever, I really enjoyed ur conversation. You should do this again, and say something about the cross of Jesus Christ.
Absolutely wonderful episode!
Love all of the convos! keep it up!
May the Ethiopian Church reunite with the Orthodox Church.
Nope may the Ethiopians lead
Freakin fascinating interview!
This is astounding! Please post more!
Absolutely incredible, thank you. I would love to hear if women play any kind of a unique role in the liturgical tradition.
they play no unique role outside of ancient practice of deaconesses for baptismal aid. throughout the ages a small minority of women have become senior students and professors of the trad schools of poetry, scripture, and liturgy. today, there maybe 20 or less such professors.
Thanks for your reply!
This was very interesting. Thank you!
It's Henok, like "hey" and "yolk" with an N in the middle haha otherwise love both you guys glad both worlds finally came together!🙏🏾
i anglicized the pronunciation for him to make it easier! but yes hey or hay and nok like yolk or folk.
Where have I been ❤
Way to go Jonathan!!!! I've been interested in this amazing topic !
Quite pleased that you're facilitating !
Thank You.
Thanks to our forefathers who blend the Bible in to our day today life!!!
At the time of st. Romanos the hymnographer archdeacon of Beirut poetry was invented and performed during the services in Hagia Sophia☘️☦️
I am curious whether the tradition and practice of liturgical poetry relate historically to the development of the Kontakia, as chanted sermons, in our Byzantine tradition. In the Ethiopian tradition, this practice seems to have been retained.
