Many years ago I raced with John and the boys on the Grand River in Grand Rapids, we were running in the 25 SS hydro class. Those were some great times in my life, nothing can compare to driving and racing the boats.
I raced with whithums, Ringer, Bob Vanover and Eric. Green hornets Lyle, Ray and helped Mason. Small world. 74 M. C D & E mod. Was that Lyle out front. Can't remember his #. Believe Ray's was 56 M. With the old Charelstons. Most beautiful hydro ever made Then the Jones hydro out of Washington. Cab overs inline 6 alki's
Say hi to everyone up there. Ran 250 hydro down here and still have my outfit plus I built a d and e mod clone. Have an Alki C with turner .010 over pistons. Headland rings. D reeds, 30 H flywheel and a pristine C two porter stud. Block from RC Howie down here. Can't get anyone with a hone to hone it .010. Oh and a true old school Chris er filler block !. These three motors are keepers. Also picked up a like brand new merc 1000 inline 6 and a 15 in. mid. Chrisner 2 into 1 pipes. No filler though. Say these are next to impossible to find. Tore it down to inspect and the cross hatch was still in the cylinders
