- Let me know your thoughts on what you think the anime sequel will be? At the moment I'm a little torn on it possibly being a movie or season 2, but definitely excited to see what it'll be!!

I hope it will be a season 2 instead of a movie because it'll get more hype that way on a week by week basis. They should also draw it out more since season 1 was just a little bit rushed even with the 3 episode long arcs like Koga's which left out the whole soccer game stuff on TV which was talked about in the novel. The only thing I think would be bad is people who only really like the series for the mystery of the adolescence syndromes won't get what they want in Kaede's arc since she doesn't really have another adolescence syndrome in novel 8.

Personally, I think it'll be a movie. I don't think there's enough content for a season, based on how they've adapted previous content. Little Mai isn't as prevalent in volume 8 as shoko's adolescence syndrome was in volume 6, but it won't be a major change. I won't have a better opinion until I read volume 9 and see how much of a crossover there is between the two volumes.
Yeah, it definitely isn't too much of a stretch for it to be a movie! Especially with only 2 light novels being adapted, it'd be difficult I think for them to stretch out the stories for an entire 12-13 episode anime season 👀 We'll probably find out soon, I heard something might be announced on Mai's birthday in a few days!

i really hope it will be a season 2 (i prefer anime series bc to watch a movie in a good quality we'll have to wait a bit from the jp release and i can't handle the hype lol), but i'm scared it will be a movie bc the two volume aren't totally disconnected and the amount of content is, imo, not enough for a 12 episode anime (i also know that a movie will make me cry much more than the series, and that's a point in favour of the movie, bc once you finish it you know that you have to say goodbye to the animated part of the brand for a while, instead the anime accompanies you for a little longer).
Lots of thoughts but at the end the only thing that really matters is that we are finally able to meet our favorite characters animated once again (and, as always, sorry for the bad english)
ps: i've finally decides what to do with the series, i'm going to watch the anime and than read the 9th volume (the anime is too nostalgic it makes me feel good when i watch it so i want to have the best experience from it! oc if i have to wait the same amount of years for another anime i will read the rest of the novel, in this way ao buta will accompany me for a huge portion of my life!)
Yeah, same! It'll be more hype over an anime season too with all of the discussion weekly, but with only 2 light novels being adapted it has me thinking it could be a movie. It definitely isn't totally disconnected like you said since they do talk about the little Mai a good deal, but would be a shift in focus if they do it in a movie. It would suck having to wait for the JP release then for it to release overseas, but we'll see soon what It'll be. Most likely on Mai's birthday!!
