I always figured he'd be one of those SNL cast members who's not good at impressions, but is on the show because he's good at crazy characters and Weekend Update commentary.
Allison Janney was the best out of all of 'em.(imo) John Mulaney was good. It's so weird finding out he's a drug addict. He just doesn't give off that vibe. It's like finding out Lil Pump has a masters in theoretical particle physics from Harvard. Yeah, it's that kinda weird!
They've done several of these sketches where different celebrities are seen playing someone else's role. It gives the cast an opportunity to do impressions they couldn't do anyplace else.
The difference is- this memoir details Britney’s trauma and other vulnerable moments. They made it a joke. Imagine a show that welcomed you with open arms, ends up taunting your most personal book, using impressions as a shield. That is beyond fucked up.

Bowen is a Bill Hader kind of impressionist: he often throws in some old-timey references he loves that make people laugh even they have no idea who he's supposed to be. Counting the Titanic and his Chuck E. Cheese Commodores-like duo, this is at least the third time he clearly just want to pull a homage to 80s pop music.
It's not really a raspy voice, it's more like a irreparable damage to vocal chords type of voice, as in Steve O should remain quiet for the rest of his life type of voice

He was on Jackass breathing fire, eating glass etc, and was a heavy drug user of PCP, meth etc. He said himself he was addicted to nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and would do hundreds of hits in a day, which he thinks caused the most damage. Having tried it myself that gas is pretty damn cold going down your throat, so it figures it could do some damage in extreme amounts.
It's strange how Bill Hader went from "The guy who does spot-on celebrity impressions" to "A cast member 16 years his junior can imitate him" (Hader was born in 1978, Longfellow was born in 1994).
I love seeing Chloe’s Timothee Chalamat, I love how it’s just an inside joke to have her just straight up do the impression when he’s hosting for one of the sketches lol. And I’m all for it! I didn’t REALLY know him until her impression and then afterward he got more and more mainstream lol, but for me I learned through the impression first!
He has a good sense of humor and looking fun at himself. A few years ago at an awards show, some actor joked on stage about how his shirt made him look like a gas station attendant. Later in the show when he won an award, he got up on stage and read the definition of gasoline, joking that the job requires an in depth knowledge of it and stuff.
When I saw the title & thumbnail for this vid, I thought this was going to be disrespectful towards Britney.. but thankfully it went in a different direction & its absolutely hilarious! 😂👏 all these impressions are spot on

It was kind of a minefield: How do you be respectful to Britney, acknowledge the popularity of the book, but avoid wading too far into its contents and the related controversy? This was a good solution. I figured they’d make sure not to make a joke out of the book itself. When they did the Oops You Did It Again sketches, they were very careful not to make Britney the joke (or her clearly sensitive situation the center of the sketch). It made me respect the writers a lot more.
Man, this sketch has gotta be the best one of the night so far! I was busting up laughing on the floor the whole sketch! My favorite parts were Ego’s Jada impression and Molly’s Kevin James impression. They made me laugh so hard, I died, went to heaven, and came back to life within a whole minute. 😂
The writers are the same this season as last season. No one left and they didn't add anyone new (in the writer's department. As for the cast, they added Chloe Troast and JAJ and Sarah Sherman are now part of the main cast). Maybe time off because of the WGA strike helped them be better.

They use the concept of “auditions” frequently as an excuse for them to do a free-for-all of celebrity impersonations (which the cast usually pitches themselves).
