the shots, the music, the explanation, this isn't a video this is an art piece
Beautiful car, great detail procedure and outcome but, even more, excellent photography and editing! Sandro is one talented man!!
Thank you mate!
This is 54 minutes of pure detailing awesomeness!
Thank you mate, it’s really nice to hear that after all the work that went into it.
Wow man! I'm out of words. You're a magician. God bless you man!
The Boss of Gloss !!!!
Looks amazing Sandro such depth to the finish, you are a true artist
I would suspect your brother was left speechless for the absolute great work you did Sando. Keep up the magnificent work.
Just plain KILLED IT!!!!!!!!!
Thanks mate!
Love this colour on this car when you spend the time you did, I've done a similar one to my dad's one and it came up so good all done with the similar principal of removing just enough to get a shine but not concerned about the big ones as other detailers say its the diminishing returns when you start going after the bigger ones
WOW! Looks amazing! Great Job! Thanks for the Vid!
Hello from California, USA 🇺🇸. Great vid of a great looking car. Your videos are nothing but pure cinematic pleasure, visually and to the ears. 👍
Looks great
Definitely got a shine
Thank you mate!
As an at home detailer, this video is so satisfying. Subbed.
He is lucky to have a brother like you
I’m pretty luck too, he’s a great brother!
Sandro your brother’s car looks amazing. You more than achieved your goal! Great work as always. Cheers.
Thank you mate!
Great video and combo!
Thank you!
I just have to say wow that looks absolutely amazing sandro job well done.
Such a great video on the entire detail process.
Makes me wanna go wash my 2006 GTO cyclone grey right now lol. Great video! Loved it!
Apart from increasing gloss, you have increased its value in preserving its paint condition.
Good to see the end shots at Waxit . An amazing company with high end detailing products. I support them myself.
Another great job Sandro
Awesome job sandro...
Thank you mate!
Very good job, I have so much experience in the clear coat, especially red, black, yellow, orange, colours y recommend to you if you catch one more car same like that, you can use 3M perfect It LX and you will be amazed at the result we use here, and you can disappear the stains when you have started with your test paint. take care.
Looks amazing!! More awesome work!!
Glad you enjoyed it mate!
Sandro great video You have to use hushed tones when you talk about holden lol Its great your respectful to the customer wishes. which just happens to be your brother. WE all know you could have got it 90 to 95% corrected with a 2 stage polish As and when your brother goes to sell it you know you will still have more clear coat to do a full correction. Due to your sympathetic valet. Its great to see the customers wishes comes first. Good for you. A satisfied customer is the best BUSINESS STRATEGY of ALL. IN Sandro we trust
Thanks Bob and believe it or not my brother also has a classic Ford so that’s probably the most hush hush factor lol.
Yes the great thing about going light with correction is that you can always go harder down the track, but you can never replace the original clear once it’s gone.
Thanks as always mate!
You are a true master of the craft, we are saturated here in th UK with detailers but you are on a different level
Really appreciate that, thanks mate!
Simply outstanding. You can really see the pride you take in your work. Would have loved to see your brothers reaction.
This was amazing to watch well done mate! I myself absolutely love nova lustre, in my opinion I just haven’t found anything else that comes close to the gloss it creates, and more so it’s insane filling ability that just still manages to blow my mind every time I apply it!! Well done once again mate keep it up 🤝
I’m laughing & crying at the thought of the expense of detailing a car to this beautiful stage of near perfection. That shine is amazing!
Felicitări pentru munca depusă a ieșit foarte frumoasă mașina ești numărul unu în detailing salutare din România.
Congratulations for the work done, the car came out very beautiful, you are the number one in detailing greetings from Romania. 😀
E remember watching the review on Top Gear of this car and I loved it.
Great work as always
I remember that too, it was great seeing it on Top Gear! Thanks mate
Absolutely awesome video: Thank you for posting great result.
Awesome work as always mate.
Thank you!
Absolutely amazing. Bravo 👏
Beautifully made video, the music and editing was almost spiritual. Loved every minute. 👍
Thanks, it’s really nice to hear that!
Come on... It's midnight here, I have to sleep... And I Just saw this 54 min vidéo...
Haha, it was about 4am when I finish it, and I definitely had to sleep!
Hi Sandro as a beginner just starting out thanks for clarifying hard and soft paint. Something I struggle with but you nailed it with your explanations and the lights lit up. As a mature person and learning new skills your videos are my point of reference.I have to say that monaro looks fabulous. All the best
Thank you mate, it’s nice to get that sort of feedback and I’m really glad the videos have been helpful.
Awesome video.
Wow, well done. Great video quality too.
This is just what I needed to see prior to giving my brothers car the same sort of treatment. You've done an excellent job on this. Faded red paints are soo rewarding to polish, aye? :)
Hope it helps and absolutely, faded red paints have a dramatic difference after a good correction!
What a shine, outstanding Sandro 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼Hoping to do my first ever detailing on my own Honda Civic. I just love watching your content it's top notch stuff!
Thanks mate and I’m sure you’ll do a fantastic job!
Can't wait to do my red 370z about to do it my self. Just doing the hood first then doors and ect. Not sure what kind to buy. Something to to expensive a role but not crappy.
Great video Sandro. Have you ever used Wowos crystal sealant or any of their products. Cheers
Thanks but no I haven’t used them
Some reason at the beginning of the video the car looks like something in a video game like grab turismo graphics lol. I didn't think this was real at first
Nice job! Those shinemate cordless polishers seemed to be spinning quite freely! Looked to have good power.
Thanks and they are pretty great machines
Thanks!
MAN I THOROUGHLY ENJOYED THIS WHOLE VIDEO!!!! I Know your brother is extremely grateful and thankful!! That’s a ton of work!!!! Insane finish - it seems you hit the nail on the head! More focus on gloss and less on correction, preserve the paint and prioritize your time as well!! Loved the part on how if you did another stage it would of been clear coat removed and not so much a better finish to justify it!!
One of the things I’ve learned from you is that in the 2nd stage of polishing you can run the machine for longer to pick up more of the product on a lower speed, with slightly faster arm motions, to enhance gloss and clarity! Correct?
But for example, on this car you did, would that rule hold true? Is it more a rule for finishing, or is is possible to work a compound polish longer?
If you work a compound too long will you create more micro marring, or is that marring mainly due to the wrong pad and product choice?
Thanks Sandro!
Glad you enjoyed it mate and yes, you can usually finish a little better by lowering machine speeds and increasing arm movement speeds, but as I was doing a one step here and using a primer polish that also fills and seals, I used a more standard one step approach which was a balanced of cut and finishing techniques.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing that’s makes sense. I’m learning a lot from you. Could you ever foresee a situation in compounding where you would do more passes instead of the traditional 2x2 to pick up more polish on an intensive one step? Would doing extra rows and sets of passes create micro scratching as the compound goes away?
Yes, there’s times when I will change up my technique like doing more passes but that’s based around what I’m seeing in my results, there has to be reason and result that correlates with doing that, and as each paint is different it’s always a case by case scenario.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing that makes sense but as a novice I’m trying to understand a framework. If you are compounding or doing a 1 step intensive could you work the polish so much that you would create microscratching or pigtails?
Sometimes when i polish it’s like i get the big defects but create a bunch of smaller ones that come out in the refinement stage.
I’d like to know that if I’m doing an intensive one step and crating those scratches but with a great gloss finish, does that mean I am using the wrong pad and polish combo?
If compounds are overworked they can start clumping and creating micro marring defects but the micro marring can also be due to the combination just not finishing well so it’s not necessarily one or the other, it just depends mate and doing a few tests is the only real way to start to work out which one it is by switching up and comparing results.
Love the videos Sandro! Totally off topic, but do you know if Jet, Lustre and Boost have any ceramic Si02 components in them? Thanks. Can't wait for the classes to be back on.
Thanks mate, and yes they all have SiO2 content
Envy: is the word that comes mind when viewed by detailing enthusiasts. The choice of red is the perfect color for showcasing insane gloss. Damn, three layer approach! I wonder if it would to the same to black?
How would you price that level of work?
I think a non-metallic black would render comparative gloss enhancement looks and generally a detail to a similar time frame would be around the $1k mark.
Thank you for the reply. BTW, excellent "detailing" on the video production values.
finally a commodore HAHA
I love how due to covid you cannot drive in a car alone over there
reminds me like an old mazda 6
Excellent video, i feel like this is exactly the balance of correction and gloss enhancement mine needs. Any tips for someone who has to do this all outside? I would happily stretch out to 2 days but would worry about the polishing step - could the paint be washed/decontaminated one day and corrected the next? I know that’s not ideal!
Thanks and yes, as a past mobile detailer you simply do your best - ideal circumstances or not. You could do all your wash, decon and pre-correction steps one day and get up nice and early the next day to beat the sun and get all the top horizontal done first and then just continue finding shade if you have it abs even repositioning the car to mis direct sunlight as best you can
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks! Does put my mind at ease knowing this is an option. Has definitely put me off in the past, having a restrictive/challenging environment.
Great video can I please ask what ratio of IPA to water do you use
I honestly use ready to use IPA panel wipes, but generally you’d mix 100% isopropyl alcohol with 4 parts deionised water.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thanks mate love you’re channel wish you were in Sydney 👍
Crazy we don’t have to register vehicle in U.K and pay a fee , once we bought the car then we just pay insurance if we going to drive it and if not then you can just leave it or sorn it but it don’t cost money
What speed rpm have you got this set on, I normally set mine at 1200-1400 rpm
I wasn’t using a rotary polisher, Dual action polishers generally run from about 2000-5000 OPM (oscillations per minute) and I’d say I was around the 4000 mark.
Do you feel W6 would be a good sealant vs something like Powerlock for a car that lives outside? My car is coated in Crystal Serum Ultra and is garage kept, but my wife's 4Runner will be outside 100% of the time and am leaning towards a sealant vs coating for that reason.
It’s hard to say without doing a direct comparison and testing of the two. I think W6’s greatest feature is it’s looks though I’d also guess it would last longer than PL.
what kind of towels are you using during the lustre application?
nvcarcare.com.au/collections/microfiber/products/4seasons-general-purpose-cloth
I’m surprised you didn’t use an iron remover on wheels
What would the cost be on this level of detail?
What is that small air polisher do u have a link to buy or brand name model etc
www.waxit.com.au/collections/rupes/products/rupes-ta50-75mm-orbital-sander-polisher-air
What are you using for the decontamination? The towel looking thing at 11:17? Thanks, love your videos!
Never mind.. jumped the gun a bit. "Waxit Aero Clay Cloth" per your very detailed description that I just opened. Very nice product, thanks!
Ok, I have to ask, what music did you have going around the 7:00 mark?? I can’t find it but it’s such a great piece.
The main track is listed in the description box: Urban Distraction by Neon Ridge, but I did also overlay some other tracks and sounds during editing so it’s a little different.
That's a Pontiac GTO!
Hi Sandro I noticed you never use a chamois, how come
I used microfibre drying towels and or blown sit to dry cars, chamois tend to be aggressive on the paint
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing oh! ok, I didn't know that , lucky I didn't buy another one yesterday. Thanks
Sandro mate quick question the roof plastic moulds, if they have any water spots etc, what is the best way to get rid of it, can you use something like shower scale remover etc, put a little bit on a micro fiber towel to test a area first, or use car pro essence only to try to remove any water spots, as you mentioned the black moulds are really plastic coated metal parts, much appreciated Sandro if you can answer the question?
Yes I would start with a water spot or lime scale remover, but if the minerals have etched further in, a non-abrasive cleaner like Essence Plus could be a next good option.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing mate thank you very much, 👍👍😎😎🚗🚗👍👍
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing What if its etched into the plastic and i have used meguiars compound polish and even meguiars scratch remover 2.0 ? You can cover it up with outer plastic trim rejuvenator or a more specific polish to bring back the shine in it, what would you recommended ?
Your best bet is probably something like Solution Finish or a similar trim dye/paint.
How long would onyx last on the trim ?
On that car that’s a garaged weekend driver I’d say maybe up to a year, but on a daily driver I’d say a couple of months is about right.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing awesome thank you for the info as I was curious. Also, do you plan on making an updated compound review ? I’m looking for a new compound to switch over to. Currently I use Koch chemie heavy cut. Any recommendations?
I’m sure I’ll have more compound reviews coming, just not sure when.
At the moment I’d say the cutting compounds I’m mostly using are Nv Precision, TLC+, Carpro UltraCut and Scholl S2 Black, I’d really recommend them all.
Hopefully your brother didn't bother you over the 2 days while you performed your professional detail. Like a good brother, did you charge him list price? 😉
No my brother was pretty busy with work but I had the car much longer to do the video which always takes longer than the detail itself! No list price charge 🙂 I decided a long time ago that I don’t charge family, we just all help each other out where we can.
I've always said you make red cars bleed after they are done .
This is exactly what I want to chase. Ultimate gloss. Thank you for your thoughts and expertise. Much love from the UK 🇬🇧
Really glad you enjoyed this one mate!
You never disappoint Sandro great video
Thanks man
The mighty Monaro!
Absolutely stunning, I'm sure your brother was thrilled. I take care of my brothers rides too! Hope things are going well getting your new place dialed in.
What a great video with fantastic results. Amazing soundtrack too. Here’s a coffee from Canada🇨🇦.
Really glad you enjoyed it mate and thank you for the support!
I think you struck the perfect balance of gloss enhancement and clear coat preservation. My favorite parts of this video were the polishing of the glass with Essence, and the 3 layers of protection you put on paint, plastic trim and wheels. Truly excellent work Sandro. Many thanks to you for all of your hard work, and to your brother for sharing his pride and joy with us.
Really appreciate that mate, thank you!
A perfectly explained and well exexcuted DETAIL.
SANDROS the A to Z of the DETAILING experience. The richness of the paint and showing exactly how years of experience pay off using his huge knowledge of the thought process takes you on a journey throughout each part of the video. Thanks for your hard work pal, we love your videos.
Thanks Jonny really appreciate it mate you’re a true gentleman!
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Your a true artist buddy
It may not be considered a high end paint correction but most often a dazzling shine is all that's needed, great job.
Very well made video thank you
Thank you and I’m glad you enjoyed it!
That masking tape work is just sublime! 😱😱😱
You are the Mighty Car Mods of detailing mate.
That is a fantastic turnaround there Sandro.
But I have to admit, that pitting would drive me absolutely crazy!
I'm only watching the video and I'm itching to wet sand the whole bloody car! 🤣
Absolutely incredible; I have a VF in the same beautiful red. You've done a brilliant job on a piece of Australian history. Thank you.
Beautiful job Sandro! I have the Rebadged Monaro here in the US the GTO. Same color too! Always enjoy your videos! From one detailer to another thank you for what you do 🤘
Thank you mate it’s my absolute pleasure, the red is definitely a standout colour and for me personally that couple was the most beautiful car they made at the end before the company went under, it’s a really nice peace of history!
Nice work.
Thanks mate!
Imported by GM and called the Pontiac GTO here in the states.
Yes, you guys and the UK got the top spec models for a better price than us!
Absolutely outstanding job! If I could get my Monaro looking a quarter as good, I’d be happy 😂👍 It’s black though, so I have my work cut out 😳 Regards from 🇬🇧
Great result! Regards from Belgium.
Another great job sandro it looks amazing
Thanks mate!
Simply stunning!
Beautiful!!!!
Though a novice when it comes to car detailing, just comparing your video with another detailing video, it's next level in my opinion. Such a thorough video and so much to learn. It was a good Sunday morning treat.
Keep up great content
Sandro is the Detailing Wizard. All hail the wizard in its glorious redemptive light
Really glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the nice comment mate!
Amazing
i think thats the best correction/rejuvenation enhancement ive seen you do mate. the saturation, gloss and the depth in the colour just smashes you in the face excellent work my man i love watching your vids
Excellent job on a beautiful car.
I'm a Ford man to the core but have always loved the later generation Monaro. Love what you did with this example.
Great Episode, Sandro..😄
Wonderful and informative video again Sandro. Watching at 4am in AEST. Hope you were not working at 4am in the morning to upload the video :)
How long would the durability of the W6 and Lustre last? Many thanks Sandro.
Haha I was working late or early into the morning on that one.
I’d say on that car based on limited use it’s going to be a good year or two, but on a daily I’d guess 6mths plus is very doable
A joy as always to watch you work your magic. You can’t be a car person and not love a Monaro. How do you think w6 would go on top of a ceramic coating? Curious if it would clog the coating or enhance it? Love your work once again and thanks for sharing your magic
Thanks mate, it would be interesting to try it over a coating to test that out but it may not be quite as hydrophobic and seems to lay down thick so you could be right.
Great work, my man. Beautiful. How much time did you have into this car? A couple days?
Thanks and had the car for almost two weeks in the shop but the detailing time itself was about 3 full days work.
Beautiful work, as always!
Super Perfect 👌🏼
Now that is a masterpiece.
