I never understood why Indy was so sceptical about the supernatural after he'd literally witnessed the power of the Ark, the Sankara stones and the Holy Grail.
Sadly, this kind of prejudice in speculative theory about Atlantis is a very real thing and still is today. That's a thing this game gets absolutely right. A lot of these writings boil down to the locals having been "too primitive" to build certain constructions, whereas the "noble Atlantians" would have been able to. They usually don't even really go into the evidence that these things can be done with relatively simple means (pulleys etc...).
13:56 That was a reference to the campaign slogan for William Henry Harrison's 1840 campaign for president ("Tippecanoe and Tyler Too!"). Harrison did end up winning the election; however he fell ill and died 30 days later.
@@Kikoskia Same one, and it still is the longest inaugural speech in American history. A few weeks later he was on a morning walk to local shops where he was caught in a sudden rainstorm without any coat. He didn't change out of his wet cold clothes when he arrived back at the White House, where he got sick.
I love these old Sierra style point and click adventure games, and hearing the Indiana Jones theme in old school PC midi warms my heart, despite never having played these myself. This soundtrack has been incredible!
I missed the start of this LP altogether, but this was among my favorite adventure games as a kid (Alone in the Dark was the other I enjoyed), gonna watch the #01 now
Indiana was the name of George Lucas' dog, so this was not only in the Indiana Jones movies, it was brought in for the Star Wars movies. His dog was the inspiration for Chewbacca, as his dog rode with him in the car.
I thought you'd need a roll or other bread product to feed the jungle rodent to that anaconda, but I guess Sir Mix-a-Lot wasn't involved in the puzzle.
I see you've crossed your wires here. While there are loss states in this game, they're a bit more obvious than Sierra games; you'd have to *wilfully* walk into them, as they say.

Indy is a surprisingly good ventriloquist.

Was he the president that did a long speech after his victory in the pouring rain without a coat?

That man really needed an umbrella.
Capybara! Nooooo!
They really should change the name to the Found Dialogue of Plato if everyone knows where it is.
I love the music and the mountains of iceland, makes me want to be a lonely archeologist who works there
I was thinking the same thing, it was very contemplative and peaceful

Talk about whipping up a snack for someone.
Its mortal coil ended in an anaconda coil
RIP jungle rodent, your sacrifice was... well... not really required at all. Oopsie.

Loving this play through!
I love that game! Thanks for doing an LP!
Great playthrough
The jungle looks like a great to get chased by natives in.
LucasArts games generally don't have game overs, though this game has at least one that I know of.
I am going to guess that the item you need to trade will be the item frozen in ice from that other location.

Poor jungle rodent :(
Down they go 12:18
Is it possible to beat 'Mr Smith' to the book?
Or is it a case where the first location you visit is a bust, whichever one you choose?
There is no way to beat Kerner to the book.

Is this a remasterd version?
This is the original 'talkie' version of the game running through ScummVM.
