It look like you haven't updated this video in a couple of years, so I hope you see it. Both the links you provide are for tools that work for Mercedes GLA up to the 2017 model and I have a 2018. All of them warn not to use it with a model that isn't on the compatible vehicle list. I've searched all over Amazon and can't find anything for after 2017 models. Are you aware of this tool that's compatible with a 2018 MB GLA? Thanks
Thank you, it was work. However, when my wife connected to Bluetooth on the next day, the operation interface returned to the same as before. Even I used the OBD tool again, I could no longer use CarPlay again 😢.

Nice, i have bought the same one as you, installed it on the car. Android auto and car play ate in the system menu. Also when going into system via end call +1+# carplay is on. Which wasn't before. I connected my s21 ultra after it asks to connect device and the message goes away but then nothing. From your other video you said it works better with apple carplay. When i connect the apple device it says * activating. But then doesn't connect. I hope i am missing something. Any ideas?
Bought a 2016 GLA250 in Feb 2024 in USA. Door sticker says 09/15 build date. VIN WDCTG4GBXGJ191352. Inserted new SD card with updated maps to see device information. Just like yours, reads NTG5Star1. Software version 19/40.0 60.47. tried multiple times to go into engineering mode. Doesn't work. But I will keep trying. Anyway, my question is should I get that ODB device even if my door jamb says the manufacture date is september of 2015? And according to the VIN data sheet information, it says I have the item 522 audio 20. Does that mean I do not have comand? I'm very confused about that because it is not very clear from all of your videos if audio20 and ntg5 is the same as comand or separate audio systems. I really wanted to go into engineering mode so I could try to select the car play feature if available. I also have the two USB ports, with the one on the right having a different type of multimedia device

Hello I have mercede CLA shooting brake from 2016 and I bought this activation tool. When I plugged in tool to OBD diagnose socket screen showed "Diagnosis" for about 1 second, then it returned to normal screen like nothing happened. No menu asking questions or anything showed up. I also can't enter the engineering menu. Can I have wrong firmare version in my mercedes or wrong NTG5 device? Maybe it is a problem with the activation tool?

Hi, there can be a number of reasons as to why this has stopped working but let's start with the obvious ones. - What vehicle do you have? - Have you been using only Apple Carplay or also Android Auto? - The port you have been using, does it power the device when you connect it? - Have you tried different cables(genuine ones)? - Have you tried a different iPhone or android device? - Did you upgrade your iOS version on the device?

I have gla 2016 and bought this OBD2 activator from ebay. I now have android auto on the stereo screen, but nothing happens when i connect my phone. The reason Android Auto doesn't works can depend on one of the two reasons: 1. The tool you used was some fake Chinese copy that cant enable Android Auto 2. Your hardware in the vehicle does not support Android Auto as its a 2016 model and Android Auto were introduced towards the end of 2016/start of 2017.

Hi, this tool is not compatible with your new facelift model of the CLA. It only works on certain pre-facelift models up to manufacturer date 2019! . There will be a new tool available in the future for the newer models just not yet so you will have to just wait or pay the amount of £360 to Merc to activate it.
Yes, GLE should be possible as long as the firmware version is not recently updated to the latest version. You can watch my other videos on how to check the software version etc.

Hi, the navigation is totally isolated from the CarPlay unless you are wanting to use the navigation provided by CarPlay but the one thats comes with the head unit is nothing to do with CarPlay. Thanks

Are you able to control CarPlay via. The steering wheel? (E.g. changing tracks on music) My A-Class 2016 AMG Line came fitted with CarPay, but it doesn’t let me change tracks via. The Audio menu on the wheel, it just says “CarPlay active”

Hi, the navigation is totally isolated from the CarPlay unless you are wanting to use the navigation provided by CarPlay but the one thats comes with the head unit is nothing to do with CarPlay. Thanks

No, it cannot be set up using Bluetooth. Bluetooth will only transmit your music and tel from the phone thats all.

Are you able to control CarPlay via. The steering wheel? (E.g. changing tracks on music)
My A-Class 2016 AMG Line came fitted with CarPay, but it doesn’t let me change tracks via. The Audio menu on the wheel, it just says “CarPlay active”
Yea I don't think you are able to do that. With normal Bluetooth audio, it's possible. I will have a look at mine and let you know but almost certain.
@@ManiSuReal Not a dealbreaker I suppose, just a slight annoyance! At least you're able to change tracks with the buttons on the radio itself.
