As a YOUTH PASTOR who loves apologetics and shares apologetics with students WEEKLY, I completely agree. Craig's well-meaning and generally-accurate quip about youth pastors is all I could ever "have against" such a brilliant and charitable man. He's legitimately my hero.

Well stated, but I do think it misses something, for clearly today there are allot laws being applied that seem to come from an oppressor/oppressed context ( just hear all the rhetoric of identity politics and minority groups). This may be more marxists though, but still is different than modernism. I actually don't hear too many atheists like the dawkins kind, now adays it's more the marxists/ progressive kind, or whatever you want to call it.

Apologetics defends ancient texts. Ancient texts by ancient authors have all the limitations of ancient times. Whatever you call it, we have entered a new period which is characterized by rejection of all faith notions that contradict the evidence of science. Christianity and the Bible have abundant elements to them that are disproven by science. Ergo, a steep decline of church attendance is already beginning. Add a new emphasis on toleration and empathy combined with a de-emphasis of any possibility of a heaven or a hell, and you have a full-on rejection of authority-based faith systems founded on pre-Enlightenment texts. The new period wants human beings who act in cooperative and humane ways with each other; not an internally-coherent belief system.
