I think the opposite indeed. I think that there has been many "signals" in the series about how Daifuku isn't a normal rabbit (The clearest example, the comment from Yuki during the festival). I consider there has been attention on him but, until this point of the series, it is leading to nothing (atleast they decide to turn him important for the episodes from this second half).
I wonder if Daifuku will be able to suppress the rabbit's libido in human form, or will his instincts take over his mind at the sight of Yuki and komugi?
