if I still own this game I would play a couple times through again when I was younger I didn't really understand a lot of this game even playing the game twice and beating it I'm still puzzled to the story exactly but I love this game it's awesome I'm sure eventually everything will make sense if you just played enough times and do a little bit of research
Zach Greene I understand because it is very cryptic, it's the kind of game that puts you in a detective role - you have to analyse pretty much everything to come up with a conclusion.
Close but it's more among the lines of protect himself from being infected by the Heaven Smile virus. That's why he called the killer7 to kill him if he turns into one.
@@jaderabbit898 Pretty sure he injected himself each time with the express purpose of infecting himself and trying to overcome it. It's actually pretty much implied that Andre was essentially feeding his blood to his followers in low doses. Hence why in the resolution cutscene Clemens can actually identify that it's Andre's blood by taste alone. So essentially by feeding off his blood, they gained his immunities it would seem.
I love the art sytle, the music, the story, everything about theis game, the whole vibe. Ulmeyda was definitely my favorite character. My name is even based on Ulmeyda's name. It's not even reasonable to call him an antagonist, he was a good guy, just infected by Heaven's Smile.
The animation style kinda reminded me of this og anime I watched called desert punk that being said I was speechless after this still no words to describe it tbh
While I couldn't find anything regarding Desert Punk as an inspiration for the Cloudman cutscenes, the animation director of the Cloudman animated cutscenes was Ben Hibon. The man who got ripped off by Gearbox by replicating his artstyle for Borderlands down to the character designs, opening drawn animations of each game and so on off his short "Codehunters." Both Hibon and the creator of Desert Punk, Masatoshi Usune, seem to have a thing for old wild west/post apocalyptic settings, so that's probably why this animation resembles Desert Punk a bit.
After reading an interview in Nintendo Power Suda51 revealed he wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid... Which you know, is a perfectly normal answer until you remember this scene.
a lot of people from metal gear do voices in this game: greg eagles as garcian(did cyborg ninja in the original, donald anderson in twin snakes), steve blum as matsuoka(did johnny sasaki in the metal gear series), jennifer hale as linda vermillion(did dr. naomi hunter in metal gear), and so forth
i firmly believe that this game is the most overlooked but important social commentary in the history of games. People looking for so called "Art in video games" should start right here.
I remember this game...Good times. If I remember correctly, the general spontaneously died because Ulmeyda's blood was basically infected with every disease known to man, right?
I think it might be something to do with Andrei becoming a smile too, considering that blood also ripped his... brain afro off and put his head back on his body. Especially since it doesn't seem to affect the Killer7 at all
Killer 7 lets plays are the first videos I ever watched on youtube so happy 15th aniversary to this upload that I watched when I was 8 because my parents wouldn't let me buy the game lmao
I assume that Ulmeyda, Clemence and Garcian all have type B blood. No I'm serious. If you listen closely at the TV during Mills' call early in the chapter, you'll faintly hear him discussing about blood types. I think it's because it's relevant in this here cutscene :P
"There's dogs bred for fighting, and they're mean sons of bitches." (American representative at the mahjongg game in the previous level) Doesn't the cloud Cloudman's head is "in" look like a dog?
+Blarghalt It's not that he lost it, it's that he either had less creative freedom or wasn't as involved. After No More Heroes, any game you hear called a "Suda51 game" is probably just a game he worked on, not one that he wrote all by himself like killer7.
they need to make more games that are kind of like this but just as brutal I mean this game was so magnificent it was undiscovered art most definitely :)
I played this game when it first came out and I never really understood it. Now that I'm older and have a bigger attention span I'd really like to try to see the game for what it really is and hopefully figure out the meaning behind it all.
Wonderful game, played when it first came out almost 3 years ago. It's the only reason I want a Wii for No More Heroes now since both are directed by Suda 51.
The boss battled scared the fuck out of me, too. I didn't know where he was. But in the end, Iwazaru was really Kun Lan? Or did Kun Lan just dress like Iwazaru
When I first heard Andrei speak, I'm thinking, "Hey, that sounds like Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles cartoon!" And I do a Google search and yep, it's him all right.
If you're referring to Ulmeyda, then no. Emir is someone else, whom you figure out near the end. And as for the Heaven Smile, this scene includes his transformation into a unique Heaven Smile that you have to kill.
Just to give you an idea of how awesome this game is, i paid $12 for this game, used, now all my electronic wall papers are based on killer7 and i bought the soundtrack off ebay for $50
@moneysuccesslegacy Not Only it is pretty fun to play, but it's also touching. Both, BioShock 1 and 2 have a very inteligent way to make you feel the story.
Ulmeyda may be the best vocal performance in the game.
+D Mallow That's the legendary Cam Clarke right there!
@kevin mask Liquid speaks with over the top quasi english accent, Ulmeyda speaks "blacky"
@kevin mask you said earlier they sound the same, now you've said "pretty similiar", make up your mind
@kevin mask well apparently it's also important to you, cause you took time to write extensive response, have a nice day :)
@kevin mask you've just roasted yourself calling me illiterte after I pointed the error in your writing ;)
He's wearing a space suit because he injected himself with many diseases in an attempt to overcome the Heaven Smile gene.

I mean he blew up a stadium 🏟
@@phlector that wasn't him, that was Stacy (the person who was holding a concert) since she was a Heaven Smile
God I love how he sounds like a Southern Baptist preacher.
That's cam Clarke for ya and us all he the Goat frfr!!
Cloudman's real name is Andrei Ulmeyda, this along with is appearance is based on a guy named Andro Uemeda from the anime 'Tekkaman: The Space Knight'
Love this art work, one of my favorite games as a teen.
Bryan Hernandez this animation seems like a "adult animated video musical"

I just realized Ulmeyda's eyes are perfectly white. How interesting.
nice animation.... too bad we didnt get to see any of the main characters in any of the cutscenes...
mattyburrito MB Out of all the people who would like Killer7, you’re probably one of the few I expected
Tis a shame
Well since they are all in one being it is likely that we're seeing their pov
After reading an interview in Nintendo Power Suda51 revealed he wanted to be an astronaut when he was a kid...

His..... afro came off...
Eh, I guess that's to expected from Suda51.
I can never hear enough of Ulmeyda's voice.

A spaceman sending a dude in pink into a car heading off at 88 miles per hour and then exploding into acidic blood.
The best game I ever played... A masterpiece... Art

@@mengo329 They were in the Ambulances/van when it happened.
"People judge books by the covers." Thats so true... sadly =)
I like the 'General Lynch' reference. Makes sense seeing as Suda 51 is probably heavily influenced by David Lynch's films.
Ulmeyda is voiced by Cam 'Liquid Snake' Clarke.
I thought it fucking was, first thing that came to mind when I heard the voice was that sounds like Master Miller.
BRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOTTTHHHEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRR
Killer 7 lets plays are the first videos I ever watched on youtube so happy 15th aniversary to this upload that I watched when I was 8 because my parents wouldn't let me buy the game lmao
This game has a very special place in my heart.
Mine too buddy, mine too...
Nope, its a viral suit. It protects him from the Heaven Smile disease.
I would assume that the conglomerate of other diseases his body had contact with caused the HS virus to mutate in such a frightening fashion.
this game is art
Suda 51 is Quentin Tarentino if he was a japanese game developer
Please don’t compare Goichi Suda to a guy who hasn’t had an original thought in decades
It's flirtin with..fuckin death itself!
"I told you to kill me. Cause now I'm going mad..." *pop*

I love the voice acting!!
Ulmeyda is a guy I'd hang out with. He seems to have an ego, but that makes him all the cooler.
Ive seen this cutscene over and over again, but, what city are they talking about? All i see is white space!
I think his blood was acidic or something like that...
It would explain why the General's Clothes also melted.
Maybe I'm reaching, but "General Lynch" might be a reference to a director Suda probably likes, right?
Didn't realise 5 Heaven Smiles opened accounts on here
"There's dogs bred for fighting, and they're mean sons of bitches." (American representative at the mahjongg game in the previous level) Doesn't the cloud Cloudman's head is "in" look like a dog?
The Man who can survive the Coronavirus!
Cloudman was Hands down the best chapter of killer 7
This game is incredible beat this with my boy years ago in 2008
This kind of scared me a little bit. The animation and the theme is just freaky.
Back when Suda51 actually had some edge and style.

He says that Clarence has his DNA.
This game is one of the reasons I am happy to be alive.
@RavenPest If you were trying to avoid a disease, wouldn't you wear like... a haz-mat suit though?
this might just be my favorite game
@BluelightSpike thank you very much
"Name's Andrei Ulmeyda"
I still have shivers when I hear that line.
But good shivers =D
@Pangyarthur From the bottom of my heart; thank you for the ICO recommendation!! I'm always looking for those rare gems for any system.
@Lateral0Thinking by the touch of Kun Lan's god hand. he is a demi god and turns them into a walking bomb basically.
I always wondered, what exactly is this style a homage too in terms of design and animation? I don't think I have seen a style like this before.
@smackmabitchup Try to look up the story summary on gamefaqs! It's such a long essay about it but maybe it could help you!
I like the "Drive Yourself to Death" bit
i'm more than willing to bet that he fed the cult members with a Eucharist of sorts - but with his own blood (literally)
No problem, when you think in ways as insane as the game itself. Everything makes sense to you.
Also, Ulmeyda is much less corrupt than the government in this game... lol
...and then goes toi my favorites :D!!
I LOVE KILLER 7!!
loved Cam Clarke voicing Andrei,he also voiced Liquid Snake in Metal Gear Solid
Did anyone else notice that the animation changed with each Target mission you had to do?
I just realized that a bunch of workers walked out of one trailer...lol?
Some months later, but he says "look at it, he's a human being"
I was 15 when I played this game, I remember I could not understand a thing, now 6 years later I still dont understand, this game was awesome
Very sad
Andrei Ulmeyda Rocks! He's my hero and great voice too!
I know there's better questions to ask about this game, but it always bothered me:
Why is he wearing that space-suit?
@moneysuccesslegacy I love games like that. Do you know Penumbra Series?
The boss battled scared the fuck out of me, too. I didn't know where he was. But in the end, Iwazaru was really Kun Lan? Or did Kun Lan just dress like Iwazaru
Perhaps it's both endurance and an order to flee.
what did ulmayda say during the car scene, coudln't hear over the car
@Cruelruin0 but he did give the early warning telling people that something bad was gona happen.
Preety much these guys were once cartoon voice actors.
When I first heard Andrei speak, I'm thinking, "Hey, that sounds like Leonardo from the Ninja Turtles cartoon!" And I do a Google search and yep, it's him all right.

@moneysuccesslegacy I remenbered another! It's called Slave Zero.
This game is crazy man.
This man actually save someone before hell broke lose
Theres something about the gameplay though that is SO goddam addictive.
That car looks like a Jaguar XJ220 with a crapton of rockets on the end.
The car looks like an XJ220 with a rocket booster, doesn't it?
Did Anyone Notice That After This Part, Garcian Takes Clemence's Car And Has It For The Rest Of The Game? Hahahahaha!
I was thinking ... perhaps the "job" for Clemence was to get the hell out as far and fast as possible?
This game was so amazing. They should make a movie out of it.
Damn...how the HELL did I forgot about so much of this game?!
No it's either due to Emir Parkreiner's influence or Harman Smith's.
This game is drugs.
Steve Blum didn't voice Johnny Sasaki,he voiced Gene in Portable Ops game, and Jennifer Hale also voiced Emma in Metal Gear Solid 2
"first you need to relax" - he sounds a lot like Old Man Herbert :D
Ulmeyda's damn head, man. Gave me nightmares for a week.
Just to give you an idea of how awesome this game is, i paid $12 for this game, used, now all my electronic wall papers are based on killer7 and i bought the soundtrack off ebay for $50
Fantastic animation.
I swear, the guy at the beginning sounds like Augustus Sinclair from Bioshock 2.
Cam Clarke.
He's also Liquid Snake and KANEEEEDAAAA!
I like the animation style in this portion of the game. It fits the game a lot better than that 80's anime stuff.
Ive GOT to get my hands on this game!
did you get it
@moneysuccesslegacy
Not Only it is pretty fun to play, but it's also touching.
Both, BioShock 1 and 2 have a very inteligent way to make you feel the story.
@fuckinfak You say one of the best..is there another game that captures you like Killer 7????
For anyone who loved Killer 7.
I recommend you also buy SUDA 51's new game No More Heroes exclusively for the Wii.
10 times better than killer 7.
General Lynch, huh? Would his first name happen to be David??
@TheBahahaMaster a killer 7 scene, this game is so fucking crazy, eventhough i played it more than 15 times i still don´t get the whole story
