Man.. when i heard this i was like "yeeeessss THIS is why i play the YS games" No other game has come close to putting me in mood of joy when playing a game
Love this track, been listening to it since the first Falcom Radio thing and never got tired of it. Very well crafted composition, as always from Koguchi.
I’ve been a big fan of this track since the first previews. Ys games always have that one memorable, adventurous field theme (First Step Towards Wars, Sunshine Coastline, Norse Wind).
I hope we eventually get more "adventurous field themes" that sound like Napishtim's Windslash Steps, that one is so unique compared to the rest of them.
To Be Free song is similar to the Field Theme of Sunshine Coastline(YS VIII) and Norse Winds(YS IX) and this field theme is glorious and awesome I love this song.
Like with "Surging Pressure", the lower dynamics here versus the BGM rip is particularly noticeable, at least to me. Nonetheless, amazing track! Here's to more Koguchi in Kai no Kiseki... I hope... hopefully he doesn't pull a Hattori/Osaki/Hagiuda and disappear off the face of the earth... :(
With good quality speakers, you can hear that this tune has really deep & complex sound with quite a few instruments playing. Just beat the game but Falcom is overdue for its CG department. It's still at PS2 level.
I think they need to go the Genshin route and use a 2Dish 3D aesthetic. Wuthering Waves did it too. From my knowledge, it's easy to manage, takes a small toll on the console and looks aesthetically pleasing.
@@AratakiBullPowerSiddo1That's what they have been doing in Ys X. Characters look great, animations are fantastic, effects are nice but it's all dragged down by extremely low res textures of the environment. They wouldn't even have to change geometry at all, but it would solve the issue of blurry PS2 ground. They could add some basic stuff like normal maps and height map and it would look great without big impact on development budget.
I don't know why they insist on trying to put Adol in fancy new outfits when they just keep making him look like a generic budget anime protagonist. The costuming is fine, it's clearly well designed, but it just... doesn't stand out. It's not remotely as iconic as the crimson armor. And Karja's "new" outfit looks like any other generic fantasy anime cheesecake. Her starting outfit looks amazing! Why did they change her?! Let her keep her big blue tunic, it works! The sidetail and the purple bodysuit just makes her look like Vivio.
@@izayoikizuah yes, the first field theme and some what the presentation of the game's tone being used too many in promotional material is somehow the fault of the song itself. Great logic there bro.

no idea why some people think this sounds anything like sunshine coastline but its another good Koguchi song held back a little by the guitar
I don't think it sounds similar but gives similar vibes that sunshine coastline did, just this game's version
The beginning positive vibe is what's similar.

The track reminds me of Kuro 2 battle theme also by Koguchi
Regain The Administration shares a bunch with this, I would say this song has a lot of Koguchisms too
the part at 01:22 is "chef's kiss"

Based on the music in the Dengeki Kai no Kiseki stream, he's definitely still on board, we're still blessed with Koguchi goodness

Kinda sounds like a track in the first stage of a musou game
Its a good track on its how but i hate it got overused in pretty much everything, advertisement, dengeki streams lol.
Well the dust's settled now. All that's left is a good track.

Agreed on Karja, I definitely had her wear her original outfit the entire game x)
Bootleg Sunshine Coastline with bad guitars
7/10
Its a good song, but the song has just been so overused that i dont really get much enjoyment out of it anymore
