Okay, that's the extra low votlage side (I would hope, I mean that few diodes the combined forward bias would be about 1.75V or so, 12.25 or thereabouts?), any fire would probably stop before it breaks out of the enclosure or the build up of oxides would just break the circuit with only the about 2V or 3V at most (making assumptions about the PSU mind) to pull electricity across. I'd solder the link into place at least, personally I'd actually order a reel of identical diodes on the basis that combined with the flux and the electricity the soldering iron would eat, it would restore full luminosity at a lower cost than a new bulb, but there's also I can be arsed to do that to save something like £7 or £8 (or whatever it is these days or at the future date) every decade.
