    What a beautiful maple cap, nice thick binding as well.

    I have the standard Mojotone '59 Clones in a Gibson LP Tribute that I had redone with 50's wiring and they sound great! Also have some Mojotone Quiet Coil P90's in a gold top LP and a set of Mojotrons in a Gretsch Jet. Great sounding pickups, all of them, and solid quality. Will likely get some Quiet Coil Broadcaster or '52's for a T style I want to upgrade. Can't go wrong with Mojotone, IMO.

    Monotone probably make the best pickups in the world. They are very underrated. I have the hot set of these. They sound just perfect!

      Yup, they are great for a great price. I really like the fact, that they offer an underwound low output pickup. But a lot of the magic happens in the rest of the electronics. These VIP-pots are amazing.

    Thanks! Great playing and I just ordered these over the other hotter 59 clones. The UA is nice too and I use modeling so it made for a great demo for me. Well done.

      Thank you so much! Yeah, I actually had the chance to compare the Low Wind Version with the slightly hotter version. To be honest, I wasn‘t able to hear that much of a difference. But they were fitted in two different guitars, so the comparison lacks anyways.
      The Lion is great - it sounds pretty much the same as my Mini Plexi. I actually made a comparison video. :-)

    This is great. Great playing too. I'm debating getting this set for my Les Paul but I am kind of on the fence between these and the classic Gibson set of the 490r/498t. I love the clarity of these clones.

      Thanks! I really don’t like these Gibson pickups. They really lack of dynamic response when it comes to your picking. Absolutely no comparison to the Mojotones.

      Yes, these Mojotone Pickups are great. But try to change the pots first. A lot of the magic happens here. These VIP pots have higher values than regular Gibson pots, so they will sound brighter and more open and airy.

      @@Guitarjosii I have a greco les paul from the 80s, I want to give her a make over. DO you think swapping the bridge would affect the tone a lot? i tried putting a gibson nashville on from another gibson i have, and it seemed a little bit snappier, but when I put the old bridge in it did not feel that worse at all.

    • @Guitarjosii
      @Guitarjosii  5 місяців тому

      @@NicoBellisarioMusic Hard to tell, since I don‘t have experience with Greco LPs. I don‘t know, what the original bridge is made of. Different materials can make a pretty significant difference. And don’t underestimate the role of the stop tail piece, which even can make a bigger difference than the bridge in my experience. But it all depends on the guitar.

    Hey man ! This comment is for your OLD videos ripping the marshall baby plexi, jmp, silver jub through your *2x12 cabs* this following comment is all towards that ^ ive been trying to make my 2x12 wprk tried many speakers for rock hard rock, billy squier and jimmiy page crunch and 80s atuff early VH steve stevens george lynch - no higher gain than that ! That is the ground i want to cover ^
    ^
    I hope you see these questions about your experience with 2x12 cabs even if you only reply with 2 sentences that will help me immensely over nothing at all😅🙏
    ^
    ** I was hoping you could help me out with 2 speaker recommendations for my 2x12 cab ** ??
    *
    im struggling to get this last part of my chain sounding as killer as my amp heads should if that makes sense..
    *
    DISCLAIMER
    :
    ***** I've already tried *******
    G12 65Heritage x2 , 2 UK G12m 20 greenies x2 , and the old V30 UK x2 to no avail, something always sounded wrong or an odd mix / clash of frequencies... currently there's 2 eminence wizards which are like 2 G12 H30 clones but at 75w each, they sound just OK so while I can live with it, I'm trying to find something else..
    ^
    * Do you or have you ever used ANY 2x12 cabs/ speakers to demo your marshall amps ? Or have you used any 2 speaker combinations that rocked in your 2x12 cab in general that you could recommend me ?
    * Ever try mixing the G12 H30 with a V30 ?
    * Or using scumbacks ?
    * 2 creamback m 65s?
    * 1 creamback m + 1 creamback h ?
    ^
    ^ those last 2 examples are ones I've heard pop up over the years MANY times when guys love the 4x12s they tried but are trying to make the most out of their 2x12 cab etc etc.
    ^
    * I enjoy my current haul of amps , the wizard 50, canadian Morris GCM 008, ( best Marshall tribute with its own thing going on ever ) ceriatone yeti 50 but my 2 speakers inside my 2x12 must be the weak link-
    all my amps sound better in my friends two 4x12 cabs with 4 greenbacks lol
    ^
    I need to find a way to make my 2x12 cab sound better, I know there has to be a way, other guys have made that setup work before surely..
    *
    Disclaimer#2
    * Yes I know a 2x12 will never be a 4x12 - even with the best vintage greenbacks or black backs, there's just that bigger bolder iconic sound theough a 4x12 that a 2x12 won't do, yes , that's fair and it's very obvious why most use 4x12s in vidoes they flat out sound amazing and highlight an awesome amp!
    *
    As much as I'd like a 4x12, my solid closed back 2x12 Dr dan cab is all I have to work with - its not a cheap one, no mdf or flimsy construction. Definitely comparable to something like a stoneage or bogner 2x12 cab i.e solid burch and not built cheap or flimsy !
    Speakers are side by side NOT diagonally offset like some older marshall 2x12s.
    ^
    * In my townhouse setup a 4x12 would just be overkill; my fiancé already rolls her eyes at my 2x12 whenever I wheel it out
    🙄😅
    ^
    ** Anyways, I'm all ears whenever you get the chance to read this novel one guitar player to another It would just about make my day since your amps absolutely blow me away from the second I heard your first few modded marshall videos a couple years ago.
    ** if anyone else here can chime in on either there experience with their favourite amp through a 2x12 cab and their speakers of choice I'd really appreciate it as well, the more the merrier, maybe others have been through the same situation with their 2x12 cabs/ swapping 2 speakers for something better etc. **
    ^
    Cheers from niagara canada and all the best

      Hi Adam,
      thanks for your comment!
      I am really happy with the G12M-65 Creambacks in my Zilla 2x12“. I have a 1x12“ as well and put one of these Creambacks in there as well and it sounds just killer. I have a video of that on my channel. These are my favourite speakers. They are rather dark and mellow, which seems to be a good fit with Marshall-style Amps, which can sound really aggressive.
      I really don‘t like the Heritage version, either the Greenie or Creamback Heritage speaker, cause they tend to have some harsh frequencies, which I hate. And I don‘t like to mix two different speakers. But thats a matter of taste.
      You also can try these G12-65 Speakers from the early 80s. Not to be confused with the G12M65!
      They are amazing as well, especially if you like that Vintage AC/DC tone. But they can be expensive.
      I have never tried these cabinets by Dr. Dan, but these should sound fine. But every cabinet behaves different. A friend of mine has a 1x12“ silver jubilee cab by Marshall with a Celestion V-type in it. And we thought, we could upgrade it with a nice Greenback. We thought, you never could go wrong with a Greenie - but after all, the stock V-type was the much better fit. Really interesting.
      Hope that helps, cheers
