For the bowing issue... take the lid and cut out the middle. Put it back on the tub and drill some holes around the edge. Then cable tie the lid and the tub together. The center is cut out so it’s like having the open tub but with a reinforced edge
Amazingly informational
Thanks for sharing your tub setup! You talked about your check valves in another video and that prompted me to get some.
Looks great, can't wait to see the progress!
Following is a thousand words. 👍🖖 Well that is two pictures so I guess that is 2000 words. Thank you for the update.
Awesome Michael
Just some advice is to ensure you have a weighted cover as it's possible for rodents, cats or birds to feed on fishes.
Yes! Appreciate the advice! That's in the works, hopefully I'll have it done in a few days haha
I live in canary islands and keep similar temps to you .I keep cpds outside year round no problems last year 6 adults produced over 200 fry during summer no full sun either .lots of plants no filter and minimal feedings I found best to keep removing fry and grow out separately helps more fry survive
VERY INTERESTING TUBBING PROCEDURES BREDDA
Bay area💜 yee.
So you were able to confirm this material is safe
how long do u wait before u put the fish in?
I had an issue with a tote bowing out. It was fine as long as it didn't press against something, like the wall of the building. If one side is allowed to bow out, but the other restricted, I think there was too much pressure on the bowing side and it developed cracks. Idk, something to consider. Other than that, they work great! Nice set up. Mine go outside in a month or so.
How do you sell your fish? I don’t know many other aquarists in the Sacramento area, and I have a bunch of betta fry. Do you think betta splendens veiltails would sell at the sac aquarium meet up?
I have like 100+ fry...
I mostly go through the sac club! Same for my purchases as well.
I think they would, but I think there's a limit of 3 bags of any given species? Can't remember. We do have several members who own stores/wholesale and would possibly be interested! Come to our next meeting!
Bay Area Aquatics thanks for all the info. Great UA-cam channel. I just found it today, so I’m catching up on some of your local content.
I want to set up tubs!!! But I live in a condo with a slanted deck, soooo....
First thing is that water weighs 8.549 pounds per gallon. Next place the tub on the deck where you want to set it up. Place a level on the tub and lift the low end of the level until the bubble is in the center of the lines. With the bubble centered measure the distance between the top of the tub and the bottom of the level. That figure will let you know how high you have to raise the low end of the tub to make it level. Good luck.
When do you set up your tubs?
