Hi Alan. This video just showed up on my phone. It was fun to see. Lots of Carpathians also showed up to work in the mills and mines in Pennsylvania where I grew up. In fact I’m a descent. LOVE THE VIDEO. John. Oklahoma, USA
What was in the German blood to scatter themselves over such large areas of Europe? In this case it was probably the thought of wealth in the mines, maybe like part of the reason why we British got so scattered in the nineteenth century. That is just a guess. Maybe someone else can come up with a better reason.
How did all these ethnic Germans become so scattered over the centuries?I've heard when they answered the call to return to the Fatherland that the indigenous German were repulsed by them:they thought them coarse and that their German was appalling.

And I was there in 2012 when this was filmed! Nice to know people still watch it!
I hope you enjoy it!
A kind of diaspora then? Quite ironic if you catch my drift!Though we musn't make sweeping generalisations about serious topics.
